Palpable tension gripped Gbaramatu kingdom and other parts of Warri, Delta State and the Niger Delta region on Friday morning after suspected militants blew up strategic pipelines in Warri South West local government area of Delta state.

Multiple explosions also rocked several oil installations between Ikpokpo and Odidi flow stations, mostly in Gbaramatu kingdom, barely hours after a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered security operatives to arrest Chief Government Ekpemupolo.

Ekpemupolo, who goes by the alia of Tompolo, is one of the founders of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND). He hails from Kurutie community in Gbaramatu.

It was gathered that the attacks started shortly before midnight and lasted till the early hours of Friday.

At the time of this report on Friday afternoon, residents of the riverside communities are fleeing in anticipation of another bloody operation by the militants and soldiers of the Joint Task Force.

E don dey happen...

If the reports are true, it appears this Tompolo vs EFCC matter just went up one notch.

It would be interesting to see how this plays out.

In any case, e gud 2 get beta bckup 4 diz country. If tompolo na 1 kyn pesin now, we 4 don dey c pic of how dem don rough handle am for prison.

Although, I want him to be probed, I cannot for the life of me advice him to submit himself. PMB is reckless, abuses his office, and does not respect Nigeria, the constitution of Nigeria, or the Nigerians that voted him in. So @Tompolo, until the dullard behaves himself, do all in your power to resist arrest.

If PMB cannot respect court orders, Tompolo should not respect court orders.

If PMB can disrespect the courts, Tompolo should too. Both of them are war lords. If 1 is above the law, the other person is above the law too.

They just making tompolo's case worse.
If Metuh's chants,Dasuki fake cancer ailment and medical trip abroad or Iran's presidents call to PMB on El-Zalzalky cudnt stop the govt from doing the needful, I doubt sabotage of a few pipelines by miscreants wud stop efcc from bundling tompolo to court.

They are trying hard to frame him up. This government is a huge joke. Very petty and insane of them.

Just two days ago he said the government wants to blow up pipelines and put the blame on him and on Friday they did same.

You are talking based on the assumption Nigeria is selling all her oil. This has not been so for a while and the situation may become worse in future as more nation discover oil and the world becomes less reliant on oil as commercial/domestic fuel. Buhari knows he is in a winner-take-all fight where he either wins by moving Nigeria towards success or fail by letting the Tompolos of the world continue to hold the biggest black nation on earth to ransom over a commodity that is becoming cheaper and more worthless to Nigeria than some of the many other domestic endowment we have neglected. You are really misinformed and behind if you think (1) oil is the supreme 'bargaining chip' it used to be in Nigeria's case, (2) or you assume we are still in an era of weak Presidents every common criminal can bluff and (3) you fail to understand that it is now accepted that the Nigerian economy, as a matter of necessity and not choice, must diversify or die.

Buhari is uncompromising because he knows the future and survival of Nigeria is linked to a totally new way of doing things where oil is not an overpowering factor that is allowed to subjugate and undermine every socio-economically beneficial process or decision to the detriment of Nigeria .

What has made this mindset even more urgent, aside the desperate result of a failure to diversify the Nigerian economy, is the startling fall of oil price that has totally exposed the horrid economic vulnerability of Nigeria and shown every intelligent Nigerian that we are f**ked and are now left with no choice but to do whatever possible to ensure Nigeria is no longer a prisoner to oil blackmail. Buhari is smart enough to realise it is easier to reform Nigeria, by dealing with its worst internal enemies of progress, in a period oil is becoming dirt cheap and Nigerian oil is no longer over-subscribed.

In one breath oil is worthless and Nigeria don't depend on it again, in another breath the falling oil price is why the naira is weak. If the oil is worthless as people always say why is it price crashing our economy? You people will say anything to give yourselves false believe.

Sir. Let them continue to wallow in abject stupidity. This wailing wailers have forgotten that the oil doom days are here. Nigeria currently have over 32 million barrels of unsold crude oil on ships in international waters.
This people are mumu i swear.

similarly, the prices of oil was used as a benchmark by FG for budget planning or was it groundnut, sugarcane etc.... $37 dollars or so

me body should rationalise what the hell is happening in Nigeria.

A time will come when no one will know who they are supporting anymore, I mean, oil is less than $30 and someone somewhere knows perfectly that we ain't get any other source of revenue but had to instigate a sleeping lion. We all had been happy for the past years but it seems that that happiness will be cut short by darkhearted dick measuring contestants who are hellbent on ruining this country... who cares more about power than their people.
I know that I am not making sense but..........

bleeps be to you...whomever==--- the skimmers, looters, backstabbers, jobbers, political devils, unrepentant grandfathers..their sons and daughters who lead us to this shithole we are in.
