Which Should I Go For? 110k FG Pensionable Or 220k Contract Multinational by Nobody: 10:00pm On Jan 22, 2016 |
Nairalanders, Kindly advise me on these two offers. I'm in Delta State Facts on ground: Federal Parastatal with opportunities for career growth and development. Based on the civil service guidelines, it has the following: Pros 1. Structured promotion programme with retirement pegged at 60 years of age or 35 years of service (whichever comes first) 2. Job security 3. Fringe benefits/allowances 4. Etc Con 1. Relocation to FCT While Multinational is an oil and gas company. According to insiders: Pros 1. Title of "Oyel Worker" 2. Relocation to Port Harcourt Cons 1. No fringe benefits other than the 220k pay package 2. Sack letter can be received by staff without prior warning especially this period of dwindling oil revenue 3. HSSE violation (deliberate/oversight) can get you fired 4. History of internal wrangling amongst staff 5. Discrimination meted on Contract Staff by Permanent Staff due to ID Card Dichotomy 6. Hostile work environment (Mangrove Swamp) 7. Very high risk of getting kidnapped (Multinational and Contractor has a history of not negotiating with kidnappers, if I get clamped, I'm on my own) Some of my peeps said I should go for the FG, others said multinational. Oya my people, I've outlined the pros and cons, help me decide. |

Permanent pensionable not necessarily because it is fg but rather because the benefits from d oil contract that I seem keen on because of d salary, does not adequately compensate d risk. |
