The scriptures went ahead to tell us that it is God that works in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Their is the part of 'working out' and this is our role. At the same time, divinity steps in to help us please God. It's a two way thing. Grace is ever available but at the same time, we must be yielded to that grace. This connotes self denial, discipline and the likes. That doesn't mean we should be legalistic though. There is a balance sir.

Am I the only one having a problem with the idea that only the grace and mercy of God keeps us standing in Christ?

First, if this were so, then the many countless exhortations to stand and hang on to the end make no sense because they place on us a personal responsibility for our own faith whereas it is all about the grace and mercy. Why task me a mere mortal to do what is Divine?

Secondly, the logical conclusion of this belief is that those who backslide or fall away had nothing to do with their falling off. It was not their fault but rather it is God who withdrew His grace and mercy, and with that gone, they couldn't help but fall woefully

I would like to tell u all especially charly, Collins, anas et al that u are doing a great job for the Lord here. May God reward ur efforts... Am not born again but I love the Lord and I hope one day I would be able to take that bold step. A lot has been happening to me lately that only God has shown his mercy to me despite my unfaithfulness. Last week after God helped me in a way that seemed there was no way, I had a dream in the morning, I lost my luggage and I was looking for it barefooted but before I woke up, I found it so I don't know whether it's a good thing.

Since you have quoted me, it is in order I give you my opinion also, it is basically what I said on my first post on this thread.I think you need alot of learning to do and with it alot of humility. You can be having pounded yam with angels every night, it doesn't make you above learning and especially saying something right contradictory to the scriptures shows the journey is still far. Folks like me generally like brethren with spiritual gifts like you professed on this thread but not at the expense of the bible. 2Timo 2:15.

I have sounded the warning clear to anyone who will care to listen....God do not use unbelievers to pass message to His children. We learn from believers and unbelievers alike in our human dealings.

God can do all things but He doesn't force men to change their hearts to Him, you need to know the difference between God's ability and His doings has revealed in the bible.

Paul didn't allow the young lady with the familiar spirit to make any declaration concerning him, I think you would have made the lady one of your Deaconess.

The secret things belong to God but the ones He revealed are for us Deut 29:29. No man can fully comprehend God but the things He wants us to know about Him are clearly revealed in the bible, we know God doesn't lie,how?, it is in the bible.

I have shown you verses conclusively showing who God uses as His mouth piece to His people, you haven't shown me any to prove otherwise, send me at least two verses (that is the least number required for theologically sound biblical doctrine) if you want to make a valid biblical statement, you see volume of revelations doesn't mean anything without valid biblical references.

1-25-16 Hello everybody. I am finally back to work in the office. It has been a very long and difficult recovery from the two major surgeries I had just one month apart. I thank you all for your prayers and support during this difficult time. I am starting to travel and minister again next month, February. In one of my last posts, I told you that I was going to write about the important subject of learning how to hear God speak to you personally. I am going to start that series today. LEARNING HOW TO HEAR GOD'S VOICE -- PART 1 copyright 2011 One of the most important things every Christian must do is learn to hear God's voice. You are lost and without guidance if you cannot hear from the Lord. The whole Bible is the story of God speaking individually to human beings. God created us, and it is His desire to stay in communication with us. He speaks to His people in many different ways. We are now living under the New Covenant through Christ Jesus, and God says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah . . . For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them . . . In that He says "A New Covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." I was raised in a legalistic fundamentalist church that taught that the Holy Spirit essentially ceased to function after the cannon of the scripture was closed. We were never taught that God wants to speak to us directly. I didn't know such a thing was possible. I didn't pull out of that church until I was 26 years old. By then I was empty and unhappy, looking for something to fulfill my life. I thought it would be a career, and I entered my first year of medical school. By divine appointment, I started going to a campus ministry there on the college campus. For the first time in my life I was exposed to people who experienced the Lord personally and heard Him speak to them. They believed in and walked in the fullness of the functioning of the Holy Spirit. At first I was blown away! Then I became so hungry! I wanted what those folks had, and I was determined to find it. It was during that year that I entered into a covenant with the Lord to make Jesus the total master over every area of my life. My greatest desire was to experience God personally and to hear His voice. I wanted God to speak to me! That desire has become a lifelong quest for more than 38 years now.
