No now, how can u marry me and leave me here in Nigeria while u based in another country? It's either we both stay here in Nigeria or we both go there.
lol
You can see I told the op to come to Nigeria and face his wife.

have it strictly by Invitation. If you're doing a 'church' wedding, serve food and drinks after the service. No reception.

Don't be a selfish man,let whoever want to celebr with u to come and preparation base on your pocket because is not compulsory that everyone that come must take something except you want to kill yourself.

. Just make it Strictly by invite
. better still go on with ur expected number, who no see food no go beat you after
. Plan to return to your base as soon as possible after the wedding, that way you won't hear their complains.
. Have a colour code and make sure YOUR guest adhere to it,your bouncers can work with that.
. Make sure you have bouncers
. Do not give them too much time to invite the world, pick a date not too far away.

Pick any of the listed options

Hiring security guards and option of strict by invitation will cost u more and also attract much displeasure from both families. After all ur wife have being eating other peoples wedding rice. Guy my advise is, just budget how many people u want and find a good caterer, rent a venue, form a strong committee and arrange tables according to people of interest. Note: two families must have their own spot. Start to serve ur drink and food their. If it didn't get to d uninvited guest it is not ur fault. Go home and enjoy ur marriage. Wedding is just for a day. Remember, no best wedding and no worst wedding. U can chat me for more advise.

Did this successfully in Ibadan and my Wife is a church goer too (she's here in the US with me now too).

Look, be the man right from the start and guide your family. If you don't then I'm afraid others will guide and rule it for you.

Print out 200 invitations, give your Wife 125 for he friends and family, take 75 for your friends and family. Spend money to hire security with strict instructions to not allow entrance without IV.

Done deal.

Hello! I just could not pass by without saying a word about this. What if he does not plan to live in Nigeria? Would you prefer that they both stay apart after wedding. Although there are Nigerian women who will cheat on their spouse, history also has record of those that have remained faithful despite all odds (you attest to this yourself).

At op, please only you can decide if you want her to come over there with you. You know her so well more than anyone here. Besides, I think if she is worth being your wife, then she is worth living with you wherever you are. Please don't make her wait for you. It does not always work out that way.

oga no be my mouth u go hear say police die lipsrsealed but I will give u my own point and it's left for u to follow your mind.

Majority of guys I knew that took their wife abroad regretted it. Here on NL, we have read many cases too. I have a family member in UK that's now mentally ill when he caught his wife cheating with a foreigner. It wasn't "den say den say" he caught her pant down. (A Lady that has 3 grown up kids already)

I remember when I told my dad I want to bring my babe here with me, the next thing he said was " do u remember Mr lagbaja and Mr lagbaja's" case? A lady that loves you will wait for you.

Though some are enjoying it BUT majority are regretting it cos our ladies eyes dey open when u bring them abroad most especially when they start to move with friends.

I will advice you to come and settle with her in Nigeria than to take her there.

Though ladies aren't the same but I am talking from experience.

The only option is to rent a good hall with security and it will be only with IV pass.

Just hope he's not the type who doesn't care about facilitating his wife joining him. If he is, there's nothing you can do about it as you can't force him to release his paperwork needed for a visa. No be by fire matter. sad

A man can plan and execute his plan, the person I blame are the women that wait in a perpetual way for whatever reason.

I'm in a confused state of mind as I type this,I and my fiancee are planning to get married soon this year God willing,I'm presently out of the country, while my wife to be is in Nigeria,we really don't wanna exceed 200invitees in attendance on our wedding day,but here are some limitations to this:

1. My wife to be is a worker in a big church, where she's an active one
2. Her family members might not support this,as they tend to love parties from their end
3. I'm planning on taking her along with me to the country where I'm based presently,so as to settle down there, all these will gulp cash, and we are trying to be very conservative with our spendings as well

Please we need your matured advice as on how to go about this, our plans include church wedding, introduction, engagement and reception in a day...Thank you

The only reason you want a conservative wedding is because you dnt wanna spend much from your purse. So if that's the main reason, here is the solution.....

Make your wedding "strictly by invitation" and if anybody, your wife's parents for example, thinks yur decision is not appropriate, kindly tell them to full your purse for you

If u absolutely cant just do a registry wedding/luncheon, the next best thing is to do your wedding on a weekday. One of my friends had hers on a wednesday afternoon/evening. Smallest, most intimate wedding i ever went for, from church, we all gathered under the most beautiful candle lit tent at that julius berger gun range/garden. Not even up to 100 pple showed up. Soooo beautiful.

Only ur closest friends and family will take time off work and come for that wedding. Even ur cousins and extended family wont show up.

Either you print exactly 200 IV and allocate them by ballot or take your wedding outside Naija after doing your registry stuff.

@Op, fix your wedding for a working day like Thursday. Attendance should strictly be by invitation card only.
Also, let your wedding guests know you will prefer cash gifts since you are based abroad; the cash gifts maybe very handy to you after your wedding.

Someone is seeking for advice on how to cut down the number of guests, and the next thing is he should not take his wife abroad with him. I just don't understand how people cant stick to the topic.

OP, fix your wedding on a weekday and make sure its not a public holiday.

First u need to realise that it's all about the two of u (both families) and its ur call, hence the need to buckle up and take some harsh
decisions. U can cut cost by doing the following:

1. Arrange with both parents as regards ur intended decision to cut cost.
2. Carry ur wife along on ur plans.
3. Take a few key family members (carry ur inlaws along hence the need for them to do the same)and do all traditional rights in a day.
4. Next ur White Wedding / Trad in a single day. White in the morning and Trad after Church service and reception (in a field or other cheap venues/options) afterwards.
5. Invite few key individuals to the reception e.g both families, church and key friends.
6. Have a BUDGET in mind of the expected expenditure to be made and number of guests expected and STICK to it.

NOTE: Ensure quality guests are invited in order to improve ur expected income (cash gifts).
CONCLUSION: No matter the amount u spend u can never satisfy everybody. People will still complain. Therefore
the sooner u realise that it balls down to having a reserve to take care of ur wife afterwards the better for u. Accept my congratulations bro.
