Our defence is our major problem apart from Van Gaal. Defence is the foundation. It's the reason I wont blame Schneirdelin now.

Everytime we are being attacked, everyone else up to Rooney and Martial have to fall back to help the defence before we can think of even regaining possession. Schneirdelin would be more worried going to help the right back everytime ball goes there than concentrating on his praimary duty.

The central defence is also not balanced. There are now too many individual errors. But Smalling is still dependable. The problem is Blind and the right back. Jackson is okay, but he plays too many balls into touch, an established defender would win those balls, give a guide and manage to find his man.

Our most solid position was our right back when Valencia played there. Oppositions always move their best wingers away from him because he would tame them. But now, that's where oppositions orchestrate their most dangerous attacks.

I said this a while back in August. But some peeps here wanted to chop my head off. This squad is capable of mounting at worst a Top 3 challenge and a UCL quarterfinal finish. Afterall we were Top of the league at some point this season. The major catalyst for the poor season we've had so far is LVG.
