Who is posting this rubbish? The official rate has been N199 = $1 for sometime now. It's still ~300 naira to a dollar in the parallel markets. |

Guyman02: You and the government are the problems. Its only a show of incompetency when a government blames others. It shows it is not proactive. The buck stops at Buhari's table. He refused to allow the naira to depreciate naturally despite plunging dollar receipts due to depressing oil prices. He fixed a rate at which the CBN could not meet demand for dollars compelling those who could not get at the official rate to flood the black market forcing the rate there to depreciate rapidly. Sanusi, Soludo and Utomi have all condemned these restrictions. They have worked nowhere in the world as Sanusdi famously siad. What right does Buhari have to commandeer the CBN which is supposed to be indepedent? Is he an economist? I have written off the economy since July 2015 or even earlier. The naira should crash to 500 to $1 this year if the expansionary budget is passed. I am certain Buhari does not know that an expansionary budget causes a depreciation in a currency. The economy is doomed! 1 Like |

zone20: If this happens then we will be in trouble because everyone will want to import all their needs. Manufacturing companies will be dying. Job creation will plunge. Think about this, instead of producing for export, you will rather import since export does not give you better return. If you continue to import, how can u create jobs. |

ipledge10: Both the sender and the receiver must have a paypal account. You (sender) login to your paypal account and send the money. Use the email address the receiver signed up his paypal with. It's just like paying a merchant. Paypal exchange rate = Your bank's rate Well, i have never used Western Union too .. when i can do all from my paypal. |
