Lol...It is my projection that the number of active nairalanders would at least about double. Info I got too (as someone passingly mentioned previously) was that the company would most likely absolve all. In any case, there is no point in worrying wink

I have always been of the opinion that the number of "successfuls" on NL is not as much as we think because I keep seeing almost the same monikers when i come to NL.

The only uncertainty is the number of peeps that view as guests. That could range from 0 to x. Where x is less than 600.

I wish everyone well. God bless us all.

See you there (NLNG office) with our employment letters.

By the way today is the Ides of March- A very good day.

How possible is it for NLNG to absorb over 300 GTs that were successful in the last AC? I wish...Only time would tell...

If over 300 are successful for about a 100 earlier available positions, there is something wrong with the structure of NLNG recruitment process. A process where 200% excess of a company's requirement making it to the final stage is very unlikely, so I suggest you share how you came about that figure with us.

This isn't a guess work, neither is it an extrapolation. It's simply an info i happened to lay my hands on. And i don't see how/why it is unlikely to be correct considering the fact that this figure simply represents the number of those that were able to pass the already set cut off for the AC.

Answer the FOUR questions below:

1. Find x in the equation QxMxDx=yGT and determine whether y has any relationship with 1960.

2. Determine if the limiting factor in the equation is the price of crude oil.

3. Determine the medical and resumption date with error margin of 1 week.

4. Determine how much GTs are paid.

Rewards:

Solving Question 1- Sauce of Sauce title.
Solving Questions 1,2- Sauce Title
Solving Questions 1,2,3- Oracle
Solving Questions 1,2,3,4- Super Oracle.

Your time starts now.. ROTFL while relieving tense nerves.

There are 3 things this assumption can mean:
1. Some people lie. They may declare they are not nairaland or that they only sometimes view as guest to protect their identity on this thread. The truth is that they may be very vocal members on this thread. It's a subterfuge designed to thwart u so u dont feel a sudden urge to begin to look out for them on the thread and pick off on the peculiarities in their writing style especially if u chat with them well on other platforms
2. Someone else might have told them about this poll and they probably joined nairaland yesterday or resuscitated their dormant accounts and they have thus been already added to the tally
3. If u know 5 guys like that and I know 3 guys like that and another guy knows 4 guys like that, there is a high tendency for us to begin to think that there are about 12 guys like that or apply some other estimation techniques that will still be far off the mark. The truth is that the same guys I know may be part of the same guys u know or different guys all together.
We can conclude that this current poll cannot be accurate. The only way we can have a more precise poll will be for each of us to convince people we know that are in d race but may not be on nairaland to get a nairaland account within two weeks and then we can have another poll then.
Thanks naastyme. This poll is another fun way to keep this thread alive

And that's just you. Others might know some too. As for me, all the people I know personally are out of the running. I'm the only one left. But for this thread, I wouldn't have anyone to discuss this recruitment process with.

I think those of us here could possibly exceed the first republic and even reach the Gowon era as some of us probably haven't visited this thread in the last couple of days due to the apathy occasioned by the recent "move on with your life" comments by insiders and outsiders alike. Remember the population during the few days after the last batch of mails dropped (though a sizeable percentage were guests and others whom had been dropped but were keeping us company for a little while like maguy whats.upguys)

In any case, well done naastyme

Cattysmilez is right, because I have not even liked the post yet and I am so sure there are others like me.

Just waiting for the 60 threshold and now that it has been crossed, I have a feeling that the process could have been sabotaged by some stakeholders just to ensure the recruitment remains shrouded in mystery. A small part of me believes we are more than 60 though.

Just a question, Is it possible we can appoint a Jega (Naastyme) and let everyone just post "Yes" and then we total the responses by Sunday giving those who only visit Nairaland on weekend a chance to respond. This will also enable us to track possible saboteurs.

Or can someone come up with a better idea on how to tweak the polls for better results?

Probably right. I come on here maybe once in 3 or 4 days and I always view the thread as a guest, though this is not borne out of a desire to be deceptive. It's just a personal 'internet security whim' that makes me log off any online account I'm not using at that moment. I only log in to NL when I wanna 'comment' or 'like'. I'll be surprised if I'm the only one that does this.
In fact, with the variety of monikers that viewed this thread yesterday (my fav was 'sunnytooth' grin), it's probably the case. How else did they know a poll was going on if they weren't 'active viewers'? They probably just logged on to 'like' Naastyme's post. The guest population might be way fewer than we think or non-existent at all.

Well done, NLNG Hopefuls for the vote. Even though we can't get an actual number of hopefuls, we can have a good estimate from our poll with some good assumptions.

Total number of votes = 63

Number of followers on Nairaland:
Going by the high number of votes obtained and considering only a fraction of the number have been active on this topic, let's assume only about 10% didn't vote.
Total number of followers ~= 70 persons

Total number of Hopefuls:

Some of the hopefuls are pretty much busy or solos and not followers. This would most likely be a small percentage. So let's assume as much as 30% ~= 30 persons aren't bothered to follow what's happening on Nairaland.
Total number of Hopefuls ~= 100

Adding a 15% margin, The total number of hopefuls is within the range 100 +/- 15.

If you consider train 7 coming up, the positive outlook of oil and gas and the fact that NLNG hasn't recruited for about 8 years now and would make more sense to take a good number now than to opt for cutting down the number of years between recruitment for their next, it makes sense that all those left in the race would most likely be absorbed to avoid an eminent void in the staff-chain.

Disclaimer: The above is only my analysis and cannot be used against me as a legal document.

It wasn't a joke when i earlier said those left in the race are over 300. Number of those that scaled thru the AC cut-off mark exceeds those who didn't. This is a fact i know. If NLNG decides to absorb all of us, then good.

We are not just more than 50. In the least, our numbers should exceed 150.
I am curious about something though. If u believe the current tally has been compromised, dont u think just posting "yes" could just as easily be sabotaged? There is no way to vet the monikers posting to know if they belong to people still in the race.

Cashme28 no one is doubting what you saw.

Can you confirm that all the 300+ were the ones who got the "in the running emails"?

Cos there is a possibility that they scaled the 300+ and sent emails to the top x. Where x is between 120 to 300.

Being able to confirm that all the 300+ that passed the AC were all sent the emails is the only reason why people will agree with your analysis and discount empirical facts from analysis that have been corroborated to the best of our understanding.
