Hello There

I've a kind of being searching for decent headphones/headset around for a while and haven't been successful. I've used the like of xiaomi piston 3 youth edition and it was good but it packed up after complications with the Jack and I haven't been able to replace it because dollar woes. So I'm asking the house to recommend a very good headset/headphones for me and possibly provide links to get them.

Ps: I'm not referring to these N200 once o.

This one is available at slot for N3,500, genuine one. I bought it and confirmed its genuine, but I gave it away after 3 days because the damn thing won't just stay in my ears, keep falling off. Got myself a Sony sbh20, quite pricey but worth it. Mad bass on this bad boy.

I bought the Sony for 10k. Real quality sound. The apple earpods I bought were genuine too. Trust me I did my research before buying them, I checked everything from the unibody to the cables, the inscription was written on the cable, the packaging, user manual and apple stickers all were intact. I even scanned the barcode and it was the real thing. The sound was OK, but I hate it when these things fall off my ears. Na vex I just vex go buy the Sony and I never regret.

Dude, you obviously know what is good. But just wondering, does it have to cost that much. And what is the durability like in terms of ability to withstand normal everyday use quick wear and tear? The bane of some of these common headsets that can play good sound is they are not rugged enough.

Good sound does not come cheap. There are N1,000 headsets that sound good but I am very selective.. I like good quality sound and nice bass and to get that u need to splash the cash. I used my samsung galaxy s3 headphones for 4 years before it died because the headphones that came with every other phones I've used just don't match the sound and quality. There are headphones of $30 and there are some of $100 and above. It all depends on what u can afford and what level of sound u want. Noise cancellation headphones cost even more. I currently use Sony sbh20 Bluetooth headphones and they cost me N10,000 naira. The sound is really mad and the build quality is top notch. U need to put them in ur ears to understand what I'm talking about. They are not the best in the market, but I'm not ready to spend 19kf for bose in ear headphones or beats tour. Original beats tour 2 cost about $130 while the older beats tour in ear headphones cost about $70. Change that to naira and u know how much they cost. I can't spent over 30k to buy beats headphones and next day I see a street tout wearing the clone of the same thing I'm wearing. I'd rather buy a not too popular brand with good quality.

I use Xiaomi Hybrid Dual Driver Earphone and it has everything. Noise cancellation, Good sound quality especially when I use it with TTPod Music Player to customize the sound the way I want to hear it.

The only con is that it doesn't fully support iPhone
And I can help you get it if you want.

If I may ask, how do such quality headsets make up for poor mp3 files that we commonly have to listen to?
*Hope I have been able to phrase the question right*

Not necessarily so.

Bottom line I think we need find middle ground between something with good quality sound that is worthwhile and the cost implication.

I know you too love good sound.
No crime being an audiophile.

To u it is waste of money, to an audiophile it ain't waste of money. Just like things that are not waste of money to u might be a waste of money to me. For example some people can spend over 100k on wristwatches but can't spend 5k on quality headphones. Highest I can spend on a wristwatch is 20k but I can spend 30k-50k on quality headphones. Some people spend big on belts, but highest I can spend on a belt is 5k. Different strokes for different folks.

U have a point there. U just have to download quality songs with high bit rate. Trust me there is a significant difference between the sound quality of a quality headphone and the mass produced ones even when listening to low quality mp3 tracks. I normally make sure the songs I download have a size of 5mb and above.

Just like me... I do download audio musics with high quality MB to enjoy the clear beat and sound of it.

Anything low, I back off! I always make sure I get the high quality in some sites.

it's an android app. I think iOS too.
works like a music player, but with access to almost any song right on the app. if you're familiar with iTunes it's basically something like that.
