He has wasted 3yrs of his career already, Low wants him to have a discussion with Ancelotti first but the problem Gotze has is that his best position(behind the striker) is occupied by Muller. He doesnt have the elite pace of Robben, Costa or Coman to be effective on the wings

Selling Götze will be a colossal and grievious mistake. If I start giving reasons day go break but let me be as concise as I can

For starters it would hurt the Bayern core in the National Team. We had 7 Bayern players in the NT and I strongly believe that cohesion of playing together every week propelled the team to the WC trophy despite injury to Reus (laughably adjudged as Germany's star man at the time)
Its down to 4 and the sale of Götze reduces it to 3

Secondly this is a young German talent who isn't just world class but arguably yet to reach his peak. Dortmund is already past Götze plus I'm sure the fans might not welcome him with open arms. Going to Liverpool missing out on elite Europe and playing with Sakho, Lucas, Lallana, Henderson, Coutinho Benteke e.t.c I don't see how he improves much. Iron sharpeneth Iron

Thirdly Muller's position might be AM on paper but you and I know his role on the pitch is largeky amorphous and he oscillates from RW to CF and SS. He makes plays but is not a designated playmaker. He can co-exist with Götze. Götze might not be ultra quick but he can play on the flanks, he and Reus used to frequently switch wings at Dortmund I recall. Costa and Coman are good but IMO has a higher ceiling plus Robben and Ribery have 2 good seasons left max maybe none with Ribery sef

The thing is Robben when fit is magic. When you watch that type of goal vs Juventus you want more of Robben, Ribery I dont mind cutting off

Gotze's story is a sad one. I like the boy but the truth must be told. He lacks the hunger and intensity needed to succeed at a top club like Bayern. Questions have been raised regarding his attitude and even Der Kaiser once went as far as labelling him mentally weak. We've been waiting for 3 years and nothing has changed. This has nothing to do with Pep or his mgt style. Almost all Bayern players have made considerable improvement since Pep took over. Even Boateng and the much maligned Rafinha. Only Goetze has regressed. Back at BVB, there was no pressure. They were busy playing underdog-overachievers. That brought out the best in him. Here at Bayern, it's a different world entirely.
