Pls, I want to know because more than 75% of phones in Nigeria are mainly 2/3g enabled. If Ntel offered 4/LTE internet services only, with no 2/3g, then it means those with such phones(2/3g) can't subscribed and use their internet service. Is it true or there is also 2/3g service provision in addition to their 4g/LTE network?
No

Bro, a company offering 4g doesn't mean it doesnt offer other bands.

Dey ar jst telling u dat dey ar capable of delivering 4g network.

So even if naa touch light fone u use, it will work wit ntel.

All network must offer d very basic network band.
I.e
GPRS
Edge aka 2g
Umts aka 2.5g
Wcdma aka 3g/H
HSDPA aka 3.75g or H+
LTE aka 4g bt mind u, dia are different bandwidth within 4g network
So if ur download speed aint up to 12mb/sec
Den its a fake 4g network e.g Swift and spectranet are fake 4g network dey ar actually 3.75g isolated

I want to correct a notion here that alot of people have been making. There's this misconception that all 4G providers must natively provide legacy 2G and 3G service. This is generally the case but isn't a hard carved rule.

Each of these services 2G, 3G or 4G requires spectrum to be purchased which costs a lot of money. This is regulated by NCC.

If NTEL have not purchased any bands in the 2G/3G spectrum according to 3GPP standards, then they cannot support that service.

Right question now would be, has NTEL been allocated spectrum for 2G or 3G? This is something I don't know about and hence can't make comments on.

I hope this is clear enough.

Regards.

Discard what? All those phones you talked about are still relevant even after many yrs since their launch, see iphone 4s, BBs ericsons, xperias and the likes.

These are highend phones they re always relevant cos the makers built them with the future in mind. Hence they even command good resale value.

Unlike the chinko products like infinix, injure, tecno and the likes.

They only last for 6 months and are crap, the makers have to hype the phones to make them look good, but those who know their phones know these are crap.

Repacking phones as new models is bad marketing strategy, it only tells u that the products are inferior hence they have to be propped up. wink

It is boldly stated that ntel is a 4G/LTE network operator. I guess you didn't try to visit their website or read any news pertaining to them before asking this question. They're not voice networks but strictly data with support for VoLTE (voice over LTE) which is actually a way of letting you call other numbers using data and not voice credits. Just the way you call via whatsapp or Facebook messenger.

The topic doesn't deserve to be on front page. The moderators on nairaland are so mediocre. angry

Quite rare to see only a 4g enabled network, i hope they will be able to provide steady lte connectivity, if not there will be norhing to fall back on if it drops off.. Interesting times ahead.

Ntel is still joking. Dragging market share with Giants like MTN, Glo, Airtel and Etisalat is not something they're ready for. It seems they still retained the old brains in their system. Even their website is poor.
