Aunty Mody... Ba wo ni?

You know, I am very hopeful that oil prices will come up to between $50 and $60 per barrel by the end of 2016 in good enough time for Nigeria to fund it's budget with emphasis on capital expenditure.

That's the chance this present govt needs to show if it's truly going to effect a successful change or not. We have to give them some kudos for holding up under pressure from IMF and riff-raffs like Fayose.

Fighting corruption in itself will only take us far. The real solution is to provide a working society where opportunities are available to own a business or get employed in a white or blue collar job. If people see there is a legitimate means to livelihood in Nigeria without having to runs your way to it, some of the societal corruption which have been holding us back will reduce significantly.

By the way, na who Fayose epp with his dubious China trip?

Well said. Nailed.

May d price of oil never ever rise again! Petrol has almost destroyed this country! It bestowed mental laziness on us! This govt wouldn't ve been thinking beyond its noses if oil price was high! If there was no oil the SE would not be dying to attach itself to us (SS) and roaring succession evrywhere! The great youths of SS wud not ve been this lazy if there was no oil! May the price of oil remain forever low!

We should not be importing toothpicks period, it would be stupid for CBN to lift the list of banned products. Our primary Imports now should be machinery and materials for those who are already involved in manufacturing

I completely agree with u. If we are going to spend money importing we need to import machinery. tools and training

China is not flooding our markets with chinese goods. It means u can go to china with ur naira and chinese can come to Nigeria with their yaun and do trade. It does not affect what we choose to import. It only means that china is a convinient choice because they have made it easier to trade with china.

I love this paragraph...

“Nigeria is not sick and even if we are, we have our own local remedy,” the Minister said, in an apparent response to a question on why the government has refused to apply for IMF loans.

God bless Nigeria..

I have never seen any country who opposed IMF advice and made economic progress. With the way things are going I am seeing a Greece kinda situation here. Where Nigeria would need massive bailout. Even if oil rises the militants are there to cut production. I doubt if we can achieve 50% implementation of this year budget. This would further aggravate all regions more ppl would take up arms USA is no longer interested in our oil. Even China does not like light sweet crude. Remember we are still bound by OPEC so no special deals for China. Iran is der, tracking must continue because the U.S. Goal is to become energy dependent. We need money to diversify the economy but I don't think the N Deltans would agree for their oil wealth to be used. Rejection of tried and tested economic principles has never worked anywhere I just hope we are not in for a long ride.

after all said and done, my main fear is for Buhari.

I know how the USA sponsors uprisings in countries that show promise and the will to rise above their poverty.

even Obama said it this week that his greatest mistake as president is helping to overthrow Gaddafi of Libya.

We Nigerians need more than ever to be UNITED now and put our differences aside, because the western world will capitalize on this to destabilize us.

the real fear of USA is that Nigeria, the most populous black nation on earth is aligning economically and politically with China the most populous nation on earth, and the main contender for the title of world super power.

if Buhari wants to do it well, he should strike another wonderful deal with India, the largest democracy in the world, and Japan, the most efficient country in the world.

China is set to overtake the USA and Americans are afraid. very afraid.

That's why I said, nothing must happen to our President o.
