don't think like a 10yr old please. All schools have first class graduates. But it depends on the department. Some WILL NEVER give u a first class. It is mostly common in Chemistry departments.

it depends on the total CGPA of your school.if the overall is 5.00 as I guess is the case of delsu,the attaining above 4.5 is a first class,meanwhile in schools that has 6.00 as their CGPA then from 5.5 and above is your first class.
take this for instance, am a polythenic student,and our total CGPA is 4.0; I know that when we get 75 and above its an A,meanwhile in the university that has total CGPA of 5.0, when u get 70 its an A.
in conclusion I thank the grading depends on what your school total CGPA is.So u won't say someone with 3.8 in the polythenic who is a distinction candidate is not equal to his counterparts in the university with 4.8 (for those with a total of 5.0),and 5.8 (for those with a total of 6.0)

Your comparison though! But getting this astronomical CGpa in physics or Mathematics in AAU is almost impossible. Since inception, physics and I think mathematics depts in AAU have never recorded a first class. Go inquire! I am no justifying it though!
