Moheat:I remember asking ppl to tell me just one good thing buhari did in 83 -85 when he was president aside from welcoming visiting heads of states. Even at SMC meetings then he wasn't available only idiaagbon was always on seat. The next thing he will do soon will be to reintroduce decree 2 in a new redesigned fashion in the form of social media bill 2 Likes |

Hahaha. Where is Dongoyaro now? Same old crap Buhari, chasing imaginary enemies. Prosecuting and re-prosecutions of imagined corrupt politicians. Even kidnapping (Umaru Dikko). Meanwhile, ship of state drifts aimlessly without conceived and implemented economic directions of national growth rejuvenation. Only bullying on the bullypuppit with Idiagbon. Same old sh*t now. The leopard can never lost it strips. 3 Likes |

For once, we have a sincere leader. Unlike most of those past. He needs our support. Our love. Our wise suggestions. Our encouragement. We have no other country but Nigeria. She must not go down as a result of unhealthy nairaland incitements. Leave Buhari alone to work! Are you not aware that it is the same Nigerians that are making his work harder (senators for example). Please Nigerians, please lets stop the hate. Lets love our president. God bless Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Tundeiab: I can't feign knowledge of the state of the economy as at 1984 whether good or bad, retrogressive or progressive but one thing is certain, Buhari just like today inherited a broke and broken country ravaged by corruption. The same people that removed him are responsible for the devalued Naira, high cost of living, deplorable state of inftastructure and high indiscipline in civil service. So tell me, they claim he was moving at slow pace but at least he was moving forward. Had he been allowed to finish his regime I'm sure our country would have been the better for it. Ousting Buhari in 1984 is one of the defining moments in our country's milestone that we can never reverse and we're still suffering for it. This speech only resonates the fact that we should have patience and let Buhari finish his term so that we don't end up hurrying into the ditch once again. Slow and steady, not fast and deadly. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Nigerians been impatient since 1914, the question is y do Nigerians want quick solutions to its issues and yet preach that there's no short to success??, ...The military over threw Buhari cos of his slow pace to d solutions of Nigeria's problems ND criticism of shagaris govt, another question to ask is did their own quick solution solve Nigeria's problems, it is no news Tht Nigeria's biggest problem, corruption, loss of reputation internationally started from babangidas regime, their supposed redeemer, we r making same mistake again, let's b patient n give this man a chance n c where it takes us..... Slow n steady they say wins d race 7 Likes 1 Share |

pressplay411: IBB with certain economic directions. Implemented SAP and allowed naira to compete and find it levels in opened world market. Beginning his term with oil at $9/barrel, was able to build Abuja from scratch. And many other structural developments. Above All businesses started booming again and hiring workers that were all retrenched during Buhari. Time wait for no one. Time is money. Government who knows the time value of money, don't waste time to get things done. 3 Likes |

thesame way nigeria was put in mess by shagari before buhari came in was with oga jonathan but nigerians will never detest from their attitude of impatience because i never understand how a nation put in crisis for yrs can be expected to change overnight. Buhari never spend 2yrs then when he was overthrownd by selfish nigerians. I still believe in buhari if only we can give him time. Great Nigeria. 3 Likes 1 Share |

While I have been vocal about my opinion that Buhari is utterly economically incompetent, I have to wonder about all of those who read this speech and say that it would somehow be a good thing for another coup to take place. Are such people insane, or were they born yesterday? As someone who actually lived through the era in question, if there's one thing I can say for certain, it is that the military has no place interfering in politics. Goodluck Jonathan was incompetent and presided over a thoroughly corrupt regime, and he was therefore deservedly thrown out of office; that Buhari as his successor is even more incompetent only indicates that he too will be a one-term president. The point being, democratically elected rulers can be shown the door if they prove unfit for the job. With military rulers, the only way to get rid of those who lack competence is to hope that some other soldiers can pull off a successful coup, or pray that they die prematurely like Abacha. The worst thing of all is that the military showed itself to be even more corrupt and incompetent than any civilian regime, raising the question of what justification they had holding power in the first place. For all of Buhari's stubborness and economic incompetence, one thing that he has changed on is his willingness to tolerate a critical press and freedom of speech. All of you who come on here to shout "Dvllardinho" and the like would have been literally fearing for your lives if we were to go back to the days when men in khaki misruled the country. Don't let the partisan and tribal hatred which overwhelms so many of you blind you to the reality that military rule is worse than even a poor civilian government like the current one. 3 Likes |

calabardick: If Buhari had at anytime when he was out of government gone to school or any tutorial program like Gowon to better his academic resume, would have expected something different from him. As someone said above, the worst of democratic civilian government is better than military regime. We just have to pray and hope he listen to better minds to propel the nation to higher levels. |

rexzqcom: There's a Yoruba adage that says "ori ediye kole bury titi ko yeyin dudu" Meaning nomatter how cursed a hen is it can't lay a black egg. IBB's govt that overthrew Buhari had to do something so no doubt he got a thing or 2 right because he had to prove they were better and faster than their predecessor but at the expense of a lot more damage. Just like GEJ no matter how we criticize him his mark can be felt in agriculture and entertainment But we all know he failed in the core sectors; education, health, security etc. |
