I have been gingered!!!

Crochet-A-Long (CAL) starting soon!
1st of May is only 3 days away!
Any more suggestions my lovely people?

Basic guidelines:

●Suggestions of projects by anyone is welcome, however it must be a useful item, which is small enough enough to be finishedti8 on time.

●Duration of each is project 2- 3 months max.

●If you suggest an item and it is chosen as the CAL project - please provide a clear image or weblink to the pattern. Other suggestions will be put on the list for upcoming CAL sessions.

●Everyone can choose their own colour scheme to make the project in.

● Everyone can tweek project to suit them i.e if we do a throw pillow cover you may want to add buttons or make it envelope back so you can take it off to wash, or if we do table mats you can decide to make it a bit bigger to fit a table you have. Etc etc.... let your creativity shine.

● When choosing a pattern please bear in mind that not everyone has a large selection of hook sizes and yarn weights at their disposal. So for the initial suggestions let's keep it a bit conservative to materials that are readily available so that as many people as possible can join in.

(If a large hook or chunky wool is required for the project and you use a smaller hook/thinner yarn bear in mind you will likely need to have a few more rounds to get it to the requires size. - all part of the creativity)


● If you are new to crochet, dont run away! We are all here to help each other. You shall be a master someday.

Good morning everyone. Hope our nyt was awesome! Just lyk mine...cos it rained. Am actually new here and will need some help on crocheting nd getting crochet hooks.

Welcome to the thread Bga1l. Crochet tutorials begin on page 4 of the thread. Hooks and yarn can be obtained in major shops where clothing accessories are sold.
Bigger hooks can be custom made for you by Bobijoe.

I love d throw pillow idea, or even an amigurumi project, but d stuffing material is d major concern for me.
I suggest a bag or afghan. . .

madam trublvr longest time,
CAL is bringing everyone out. thats great.

any project picked is fine by me but i believe
we can pick two. group ourselves into 2 groups

each group will work on any of the two , when they are through, they can start the second
project.

since it will be short and easy projects, i
believe it will make it more fun and give
room for variety.

I guess u know Benin more Dan me.I've not stayed up to 2 yrs.anyhow I explain am.go to forestry,d ending part just by Dawson junction.no 79 or so.only 2 shops market it there.just ask around wen ure there.Someone told me its #800.but wer I bought d man sold 1kilo for me @ 900.
And pls wat did u use in carving d hook u did d other time?

In order of votes and when the suggestions were made here are the projects for the CAL and who will provide the patterns. ( going with Lumiadee 's suggestion of having 2 projects.)

CAL 01 - May to July 2016

CAL 02 - (dates tbc)

Amigurumi animal pattern by Iyomomo


CAL 03 - (dates tbc)

For d hook i used an old knife, heated over open flame to roughly cut d toothbrush , den used razor to scrape /smoothen and shape d hook part. then a sand paper for smoother feel, i painted with clear nail polish, abt 3 coats.
