IMO the current Barcelona team in my opinion is considerably more attacking than Pep's but the latter's version averaged greater possession. What kind of top team would you refer to be as attacking in theses scenarios; a top team executing relative high number of attacking moves that enables it to score a sh1t load of goals against majority of teams in it's league (basically a flat track bully) but is more conservative the big games which are few or a top team one that attacks and averages high possession similarly all through?

In the 90s when Italy more or less dominated, i remembered the major emphasis was on the catenaccio although those sides were very capable of great attacking moves.

I can't justify or establish arguments if the meanings or the entirety of these terms are still in question.

From a purely visual perspective, i.e. watching with my eyes alone, I think Leicester are an attacking team...or to be more specific, a counter-attacking team.

When you watch them play, you always feel that they are capable of goals despite ceding possession. Both their games against Arsenal this season are perfect testaments to that - Arsenal had the individuals to hurt Leicester, but could not escape getting wounded by the Leicester team.

You are forgetting that Atletico have been punching above their weights the past 5 years and have been building different quality squads when compared to Leceister that are one season wonders. Wolfsburg tried no doubt about that but still fact is Madrid was dominating and even had a goal ruled out for offside until Wolfsburg suddenly hit them with a goal from counter. Understandably this disrupted madrid who were still riding the euphoria of their win against Barca leading to frustration that lead to Danilo tackle that caused the penalty that led to the second goal. Madrid tried to gather themselves but Wolfsburg were quite content to sit back and counter them. If Man utd could score two goals against them Madrid could do worse which they finally did trumping them 3-0

Let say city had really given up before the start of game then madrid would have surely killed them off. Madrid arent the type of team that would let easy outlet for goals to pass by. Ronaldo wouldn't let them do that. So it all boils than to either City didn't turn up for the game and Madrid themselves couldn't take advantage because themselves weren't in a good form or City gave the best they could do against an opposition that was just better than them even though that opposition itself wasn't itself
