GEJ's people explained the thing so clearly back in 2012...they even convinced a fuel subsidy removal opponent like myself (since 1993!) that it made sense.

Problem is....all Nigerians saw was not the potential benefits....but the fact that we are now paying higher price for petrol.

You guys are just too slow on the uptake of things. It is good to be enlightened and not wait for worked examples of suffering to elevate your thinking. Now what is the next thing you guys are still fighting that you will be eating humble pie on in a few months or years down the line. Believe you me, there are plenty. Nigerians......sorry bunch.

Please let's not begin to stir up anger between ourselves. The fact that GEJ was rebuked for trying to remove subsidies in his time does not mean its a bad idea to do it now.. What difference does it make?? The deed has already been done. Subsidy removed.
We should stop being so sentimental at times, what is good, is good. It doesn't matter the source.

We are doing this because oil is below 50 usd per barrel...meaning we do not have the revenue for any subsidy.

You cannot keep on spending money that you do not have.

But Fashola once said PMS should sell for less when crude was about $70 and Gej removed #10 and now that's it's below $50 why sell @ #145?

So it means under the current administration Nigerians are the ones subsidizing the govt.

This administration has no policy direction. I doubt if any meaningful development will take place in the administration. Buhari once said, there is nothing like subsidy, I wonder which subsidy is he removing now.

GEJ reduced the price of fuel to 78 naira and it took effect from the next day. Since Buhari reduced it to 76naira we have been buying fuel for over 200.

This administration is a pure scam. They increased electricity tarrifs and we can't see the light. They increased fuel still yet no fuel. They want to introduce toll fell yet no good roads.

This administration won't kill Nigerians. Its one year now and nothing to show for it. I weep for my country.

I tell ya! This government will go down in the history as the worst. The same thing that played out when the dullard came before is happening again. We are now here to suffer what our parents suffered in 1984. Electing an illiterate c.ock and shoot soldier was the biggest mistake made by Nigerians since 1918!

Gej should have removed it totally then; we would have been used to it. But the fear of losing in 2015 election made him reconsider, thereby postponing d total removal which did not happen.

Why do you guys keep recycling this line - the fear of losing 2015 election? Wasn't the nation almost in a state of anarchy? Did people not vehemently oppose the removal? If the killings by the police had continued then, won't y'all still tag him unprintable names?

All of a sudden, NLC and TUC are quiet. Of course, their profiles must have been opened for them to keep silent.

Let me see how Nigerians react!

Everyone spills whatever comes to their mind without weighing the impact of what they say.

As the saying goes, you can't be more than what you think or believe. Have you ever wondered why the United States use those three words "God Bless America?"
For every single person that says those three words is consciously or unconsciously blessing the country. Nigeria is not a location.....we (citizens) are the one that makes up Nigeria not the landmass.

Your negative thoughts and comments on the country goes much farther than the moment you just spew it. Every Nigerian curses himself every single day without acknowledging the impact of what he/she is saying.

Some will come here and be mentioning Karma.....karma deals with both negative and positive. What you say is what you get.

We are Nigeria(ns), let's use our mouth to bless instead of curse. Some will think I'm supporting the administration. I'm just stating the obvious and my perception on how the law of the universe goes.

This is still far cheaper. As at then Dollar was around 130 Naira. When compared with official 199 Naira today it is around 85 Naira of 2011 but if we use 300 Naira per Dollar of parallel market then its 45 Naira of 2011.
