annunaki2:The moorish came and spread civilisation in Spain and Portugal Both are known as Iberian peninsula but crusaders never spread civilisation but barbarism and cannibalism. Read this; Introduction: Islamic Spain (711-1492) Islamic Spain was a multi-cultural mix of the people of three great monotheistic religions: Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Although Christians and Jews lived under restrictions, for much of the time the three groups managed to get along together, and to some extent, to benefit from the presence of each other. It brought a degree of civilisation to Europe that matched the heights of the Roman Empire and the Italian Renaissance. Conquest: The conquest The traditional story is that in the year 711, an oppressed Christian chief, Julian, went to Musa ibn Nusair, the governor of North Africa, with a plea for help against the tyrannical Visigoth ruler of Spain, Roderick. Musa responded by sending the young general Tariq bin Ziyad with an army of 7000 troops. The name Gibraltar is derived from Jabal At-Tariq which is Arabic for 'Rock of Tariq' named after the place where the Muslim army landed. The story of the appeal for help is not universally accepted. There is no doubt that Tariq invaded Spain, but the reason for it may have more to do with the Muslim drive to enlarge their territory. The Muslim army defeated the Visigoth army easily, and Roderick was killed in battle. After the first victory, the Muslims conquered most of Spain and Portugal with little difficulty, and in fact with little opposition. By 720 Spain was largely under Muslim (or Moorish, as it was called) control. Reasons: One reason for the rapid Muslim success was the generous surrender terms that they offered the people, which contrasted with the harsh conditions imposed by the previous Visigoth rulers. The ruling Islamic forces were made up of different nationalities, and many of the forces were converts with uncertain motivation, so the establishment of a coherent Muslim state was not easy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/history/spain_1.shtml |

Sometimes it wonders me how some people come about with their stories. To start with in Turkey they stage a Jihad and they won totally. But in Nigeria only in some part of the North so how will they spread? Now don't forget nigeria is having Multiple languages of which the religion is tied to the languages now.Like Mexico,Argentina and philippines christianity is tied to the languages and culture of this people so how do you defect them?unless you are telling me you want to send this languages to extinction. Now christianity is into evangelism thereby making us win more suppose muslim people e.g in hausa. My point is, as far we are all in this Nigeria, the Muslim will continue to loose members to christianity.Thanks. |

My observation right now with the situation in Nigeria today, apart from what the op wrote, it has been observed that, the Boko Haram have be distributed to all part of Nigeria for a planned taking over of all churches. The churches will be over-run one day by surprise. Go to villages in the South-South and South-East, they are all over waiting for the d-day. |

@Everyone have u guys noticed some people won't allow Evangelism in Churches if there not leading it themselves and since u can't be everywhere all the time they technically stopped evangelism or have an in-effective form of it where only Church members that are been sought. They did this because they are not the ones leading the evangelism and don't want the glory and spotlight taken off them..The cures to these problems are deeply embedded within the Christendom and not anywhere else abeg e |

I some how disagree with you on the aspect of Islam taken over Nigeria and Ghana though men of theirselves claiming man of God has really messed up and urgent attention is need not to see more of these terrorist grow much bigger wings it's a sad situation. All I know if entire Nigeria fall for islam the SS and SE will not and never but for the Southwest I do not trust them in such situation this is not as per abuse or ethnicity but simply because they are too accommodating to everything thereby making themselves a victim in their own land. If people like tinubu could be dreaming of flagging off both islam as president and vice and yet christain from his region still supporting him which no hausa will not accept such plan if not for FFK and Saraki only God knows what would have happen and with the the HellRufai is dangerously on islamic mission it would have be hell if APC had succeeded. Chuches need to wake up the threat is real and very visible. The division is appaulling but not to say Turkey situation woll happen here far from it all can fall but SS and SE impossible to fall. Nuturally I'm not in the same page with that religion called islam at all I say this with no apology I respect even Buddhist or even our traditional belief than islam because I don't get the logic behind it for a religion going about smilling when blood is shed it's horrible. |

annunaki2: You are just a crying and marginally informed, hateful, closed system, not willing to learn dude with little knowledge about anything else except what you consider Christian. Read the Holy Bible with a liberated mind and you will see that the Bible contain stories of crusaders taking over territories, Someone said it's the most violent book ever written, stop the blatant revision of history just to massage your dwindling faith in Christianity. |

If anyone thinks Nigerian Muslims are converting to Christianity because of 'seeing the light', you are mistaken. What they have gone for is materialism worship and promise of overnight miracles and wealth as if that is what worshiping of God is about. You most see them going to family owned modern day Pentecostal churches where you sit in a big hall listening to loud music and a dose of motivational and hoodwinking talks. How many of them convert and become Catholics, Anglicans, etc. Poverty can lead to unbelief sometimes .... 3 Likes |

D2diff:Dare2differ, you are the one commenting. Islam will surely dominate. They should go to Europe and America how they are selling their churches to muslims and converting it to mosques. |

RandomVic:you are wrong. certain documents and files on wikipedia must be verified by the team of editors b4 it can be put up for public consumption, especially when such info is about history. . Secondly if their info is nt reliable why are they ranked as 1st in google search and even recommended by google as highly reliable. . |
