So have been following this thread closely since January, now it's my turn to start giving back!
Thanks to @Happytbaby for answering my 'overflogged' question(before I started reading back),to everyone else on this thread God bless you,I almost misrepresented based on people's advice, glad I took time to visit and read this thread.
I had my visa interview today in Lagos and was approved....My transcript:
VO: pass me your passport please(which I did)
VO: so why are going to the US
ME: vacation and to have my baby
VO: is this your first
ME: yes it is
VO: where in US are you heading
ME: Houston Texas
VO: why Texas
ME: coz I got good hospital/price based on reviews I have heard and read and I got a couple of friends schooling in Tx too
VO: oh good (smiling ) are you staying with anyone or lodging
ME: Lodging
VO: what do you do for work
ME: I work at......as......i also own a...... and...... business
VO: what does your husband do for work
ME: He own .....company that is into ..... and .....
VO: any documents from the hospital and account work?
ME: yes (hands over correspondence, budget sheet and account statements) while she is going through the statement am explaining: that account has the money for the trip which we have saved in there, that is mine, showing my monthly income, those are husband's,as he's the sponsor
VO: looks up as says good, when is the baby due?
ME: ....October according to scan
VO: are you going alone?
ME: yes, hopefully hubby will join me before the baby comes
VO: (hands me back my docs and gives me the white paper) make sure u pay ur bills and travels with all the documents you have here....
ME: thank you very much
NOTE am 5months and my tummy is invisible, today I had to wear something tight coz I wanted to show by force,so having a small tummy is no excuse to lie about your pregnancy.

Now unto ticket,PTA and other matters grin

Congrats on your visa, please since your husband has his own business, did u present his company account bank statement or his personal one?
Thanks

Hi Wolefola,
Congrats on the success of ur missionary
journey!
Please, kindly pm me the details of the
doctor and accommodation that you used.
Also, is the hospital good becos someone
gave me negative reviews about them?
That someone was trying to sell her
maternity package to me which included
hospital+doc reg, acc, transp, weekly
grocery shopping et al!
Which airline did you book ur flight with?
KLM/Airfrance?
Also, how long did it take you to process
all the docs for ur baby?
Thanks.

I used Houston northwest and I used dr xydas. The hospital is very okay mind u am not really the type dat expect s too much oo so it depends on u but its really ok.Well dnt understand what u mean by maternity package oo what d hospital have for sef paying patient or the uninsured is called miracle moment and it just for ur hospital stay nothing else included. You pay ur doc separately, anaesthetic ,pead etc u must use pead group during ur stay in d hospital and dey also refer u to dia anaesthetic who will give u bill separately.I stayed with my family, booked airfrance, finished all d baby document in less dan 3weeks.I had him on 6th of may and am back in naija.

Pls can you direct me on how to go abt usa passport for my baby i want to start the process on Monday. Pls give me detailed direction

Hi everyone,
On my onward journey to Alaska(since na me be the first person on this thread to go that route lol and Seattle POE experience has only been mentioned on this birthing thread once or twice lol) ... here's my POE experience

I flew emirates airline with my mum on Wednesday(7hrs to dubai, 14hrs to Seattle, 3hrs to Alaska.... shortest flight time i saw of all the airlines), got to Seattle and the line at immigration was so long and moved very slowly. I didn't book a wheelchair cos i wanted to form James bond lol. We stood for over 1hr30mins and at some point i left my mum on the line and had to find somewhere do rest my back. i was so scared, i kept praying in my mind, mum kept praying too

CBP: Hi, how's it doing?
me: great, how about yourself?
cbp: Can't complain... passports please
hands over passports to him
me: this is my mum
cbp: ok ok... so you are going to Alaska for fishing, hiking and camping?
me: no. i'm here to have my baby
cbp: * stretches over his screen to look at my belly
i moved back so he can see me
cbp: oh wow, i did not notice that. so, How pregnant are you?
me: 35weeks( praying in my mind that he shouldnt send me for secondary inspection)
cbp: why alaska though?
me: i was here earlier in the year and i saw and booked a doctor....
CBP: * he interrupted me and went on to say... mum can you scan your four finger
my mum scanned hers
cbp: switch with mum and scan your fingers
i scanned mine
cbp: husband coming in at any point on your journey?
me: no, there's so much going on at work and hes busy
cbp: too busy to take care of you?
me: Oh my, when you put it like that
cbp: * he just laughed for a while... how much do you have for this trip?
me: 19thousand USD
cbp: how much cash?
me: 8100 USD and the rest on our cards
cbp: what do you do?
me: i'm a .....
cbp: and husband?
me: hes a .....
cbp: how long do you think you will need to be here for?
me: 9weeks
cbp: well i am gonna go ahead and stamp you in until December in case you need to stay that long. But i'm sure you wouldn't want to be in Alaska in December
me: Alaska in December no
Cbp: *laughs again... you ladies have a safe trip. careful with the baby, lots of mosquitoes in Alaska
me: ok thanks.. have a good one
cbp: you too

We were sent to Agriculture, i was so sad and almost crying. My mum was telling me to keep calm...
The officer at agric asked me if i have food, i said " yeah, i have cereal, chips, doughnuts and the pear i was given on the plane( although i had cereal chips and doughnuts i was too scared to mention the other things in the bag like Egusi, pap etc, ogbono, milk, crayfish, one bowl of buka stew i booked from one mama put and carried in my luggage cos i craved it alot in naija etc)"

They scanned my bag, they were too busy focusing on the pear that they didnt search my main luggage. i opened my handbag and gave them the pear and just walked away so fast before they remember the main luggage( i was too scared) lol

As a FTM, I'm grateful to God, i'm grateful for this thread..... to think that my initial plan before i found this thread was to go as early as 5months, not declare being pregnant and stay till i put to bed, but this thread taught me that it's ok to be honest and it's not illegal to birth in the US. Y'all are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is the main koko she is asking about. Her bill was already sent to debt collectors.
Yes @ aye88 my bill was sent to collections already but I paid to the hospital regardless.
When I called the hospital I was told my bill has been sent to collection but I can still pay the hospital directly. You get?
I even renewed my visa before paying the bill.

@ blaize777,like seriously dunno aw to respond to the requesters questions directly,so I hope u c dis. After confirming b4 I left hospital dat d baby's record s has been sent to the I went to the office my sef because I was told dat d bc will not be ready until 2weeks time and I dnt av such time,so I went dia after 4days and got d bc dats why ts good to test waters sometimes ursef,so after collecting BC called paspport office 4 appointment and I was on dem till dry scheduled me 4 an earlier date cos I told dem I stl need to process visa so cant wait 4 d time dey are calling so I picked passport after 2days and called stella for ETC which is way more easier and cheaper dan visa and u are not afraid dat d passport might get missing in transit. So ETC came bk onnd 3rd day so we are ready 4 naija.I hope av answered ir questions.
