How could someone keeps bringing up Ukrainian performances he never watched when I was talking about the several CL performances that people can easily have access to. The said Ukrainian stats even point that Willian was better in 11/12 season with his 5 goals/ 16 assists compared to Mikhi 10 goals/ 7 assists.

When I look @ our midfield it's nearly static so they can be really complimented with fast forwards & full backs.
I'm more interested in Aubameyang, whether we get Zlatan or not. We need more raw pace in attack. It'd be real compliment for Martial & Rashford. Rashford is just as good on the right wing as he is leading the line. He'll get enough minutes.
Jose has expressed admiration for Januzaj so I won't be surprised if the lad is thrown into the deep end of action again next season.

I think we actually need a creative playmaker capable of orchestrating our play and that was why I mentioned that I hope Mourinho doesn't have the intention of deploying Mikhi as no 10 because he's not one.
In most of his careers, he played as an offensive box-box player in a 3-man CM or as an attacker on the left/right with the license to constantly roam. For example, The game he played against Liverpool in the first leg had him in the no 10 role which made him look average not until he was switched to the right when Sahin got subbed in.
We all know Rooney isn't a playmaker. I think Pjanic would have been a perfect fit for us but he's gone to juve. I doubt Kroos would come here with our lack of CL. However, we could take a loan on Oliver Torres with the option to buy.
A 3-man midfield of Kante, Rooney and Torres with a front trio of Mikhi, Rashford/Ibra and Martial won't definitely be that bad.

Did you know our main problem last season was our poor transition from the midfield to attack, cue: dull boring display.
At the time we had Schweini in our starting line-up before injury struck, we were clawing our way to the top of the table despite our poor attack of sluggish Rooney and out of sort Depay until Schweini had his stup!d injury.
The truth is we may have plenty of midfielders but they are just quantity with little quality or lack of.
Carrick and Schweini are aging with one being an injury prone player; Rooney, Herrera, Fellaini are no playmakers but inconsistent offensive box-box players; Schneiderlin is not a holding midfielder but a defensive box-box player in the mould of Vidal etc. Blind looks cumbersome in the holding midfield role and his best performance till now was as a CB. I could recall us losing all our last 6 games as soon as Blind replaced the injured Carrick in the holding role 2 seasons ago. Prior to that, the team were in great form, trashing the likes of City and others until Carrick got injured and subsequently, the team collapsed.
Apart from the right wing which we hope will be sorted by Mikhi, the midfield is our Achilles heel

Bayern would rather wait to get him for free in this scenario. He's not exactly an urgent signing.
We bought Kagawa for a good sum but gave him back to them for almost nothing after he flopped. Gotze though overrated currently at the time was quite exceptional. I would say he was much more than the regular upcoming player you're trying to portray here and that's why he had a release clause that was fair and the price was easy to match for any big club to match but it was Bayern who triggered it. You guys deservedly paid a premium on Hummels because the circumstances/conditions were extremely favorable to you guys and there were selling to a rival.
We have a good relationship with Dortmund and if we are dragging fees, then it's for good reason.
