My international passport is still in my maiden name, my masters certificate is in my maiden name, the name am known with in my office is my maiden name even though i hv done change of name nd paper publication, the challenge is should I go ahead nd register for ielts nd do cert verification with my maiden passport attached? Or I hv to travel to Abuja to do a new m passport in my marriage name? Pls note I hv a family of 3

I personally will say go with your maiden name. But if you do not mind going through the process of getting another passport in your marriage surname then by all means. I have no idea on how to change surname on passport as I didn't change mine. Hopefully someone else can come explain here.
Your marriage certificate is enough to proof that you are married to your husband. You do not need to change your name. Unless you personally prefer to change it.

You can do everything in ur maiden name just remember to attach ur marriage cert every step of d way. Also the new Immigration CG has mandated state commands to start processing change of name applications. So just go to any immigration state office(not d ones in d LG o) and change ur name.

It was faster, cheaper and gave a more accurate assessment than WES (in my case)so I'd readily recommend it to anyone except you have a non-uni certificate like ACCA...then I'd suggest you go with WES but if It's a uni cert you want to evaluate say Masters or Bachelors...go right ahead with IQAS.

Hi Iphie25, good morning.

My evaluation is presently ongoing with WES and its taking time.

I filled d online form & made payment, got a reference no, sent my certificate & transcripts via my institutions to WES, they acknowledged receipt and sent verification letters to my institutions since June 7 but up till this morning, my institutions are yet to receive WES's verification letter. Am evaluating my OND from a Poly & B.Sc from Unilag.

Could you pls run tru with me d process of evaluation with IQAS? Unlike WES, does IQAS send verification letter to school before concluding their evaluation? How much do they charge too?

Hey, pls i need your input on this reference letter thingy. asked earlier but no one seems to have any info. what happens if your previous supervisor from an old job no longer works there? would a reference letter on a plain paper suffice in that situation? I vaguely remember a conversation about this earlier on in the thread but haven't been able to find the page.

If they can write that it was full-time and mention the number of hours you worked a week and how much you earned during the period plus highlighting your job title and duties, it may work. Otherwise, get someone there who is a supervisor or something to write for you on plain paper then scan his/her business card on it, that will be sufficient as CIC understands that there are instances where some companies wont issue such letters to their employees. Note that the letter must contain all i highlighted earlier. Best Wishes!

If his work experiences are majorly in Engineering, his B.Sc is more important to IRCC for EE. Because when filling the application for EE, he will be asked what qualification he has and the date he became qualified to start working in his NOC category. I hope this helps.

You might get lucky and get away with it. But what will you do when they request for bank statement?
AVO can ask for bank statement at anytime. So I will personally say, if someone is gifting you the money, Have them write a statement saying the money is a gift and won't be collected nor will you pay back.
But this money needs to be in your account through out the entire process. So even if you are attaching a fixed deposit certificate and they ask for your statement in future you have already mentioned and have the letter stating this.

I'm gonna advise that you include both Fixed and Personal accounts with a letter to explain that the funds were being transferred on a regular basis for the PR application. There is no harm in giving them all your shots. No document is too much for them to handle. For the records, no one would ask or confirm anything before they send you ITA (they don't have the luxury). They can only verify after you have applied for PR itself and make sure what you filled in the EE pool is the same with your PR application. I hope this helps.

It's for Immigration purposes so you do not hv to worry abt other provinces as long as CIC approves it.

Im wondering how this would be true. Aren't PNPs a part of EE? CIC has approved those orgs so why will other provinces reject them? IQAS is for d uni of Alberta so is ICES and ICAS for govt unis too. Well I didn't go d PNP route so I can't really say.

I don't think this is d true position as regards immigration. It may be true for finding a work/licensing but immigration?
