Those are the best places with less traffic. Please stay away from places after Ajah unless you want stress to kee you.

Mondays to Sunday afternoons Lekki Phase 1 to Ajah is all traffic (that is the only road leading there and so many churches have moved there as well). Plus they are rebuilding the roundabouts. There is always horrid traffic at Lekki 1 and Jakande. People living in Agungi/NICON town are spending over 1 hour driving to and fro during the week, no-one in Ajah is doing it faster. And after VGC the traffic gets even worse.

U are correct, but if u don't want to be stuck in traffic from Ajah- VI in the morning, don't move early, move around 6:30-7:00 am and trust me, u are good to go my sister

@op, to be sincere with u, that budget can only get u a descent a room self contain, no more. My advice is get the room self contain, work for some months or even a year, safe up before bringing your family, Lagos is pretty expensive but if you insist on banging wifey every night, then increase ur budget to 600k for a flat in gbagada, will not suggest oworo, that place seems to be disturbed by some evil spirit

First, do not move your family to Lagos till you get familiar with the place

Second, do not rent any house till you get familiar with Lagos, you can easily loose that your paltry 250K to the various types of clowns in Lagos.Renting a house in Lagos is a serious business.

Better find someone to spend squat with for two to three month, even if such a person will bite your head off.

Some stark realities,
*average wake uptime for people living in Lagos is 5am
*Most of the places people are suggesting to as close by Lagos standards are really far compared to any other state
*A 1hr :30 min tip in your current location is considered travelling, in Lagos, it is a quick dash to the office.
*Ajah Langbasa, Sangotedo, and all places in Ibeju Lekki are 3 to 4 hours Commute daily, and you still have to get to the office before 8:00 pm
* Yaba, Surulere, Anthony, Gbagada are the close places on main land, 1hr to 3 hrs daily commute to and fro, depending on if you drive, use the BRT and wake up early.
* In all these places, if all you have is 250K, forget 2 bedroom, It can only get you a mini flat, except you want two rooms in a face me, I face you junk yard
*If you really want the best Lagos life, 30mins drive to the office and back, then you must go for Lekki Phase 1, Oniri, up to Agungi in Lekki Axis. The rent for a mini flat in these places is, 1.3 million, a two bedroom is 2 million.
*Even if you live in Lekki Phase 1, you still need to be army to avoid traffic and get to work in time. So in Lagos its stress for cash.
* is it going to change soon? No, the govt is busy building ten lane roads and light rail lines to open up and populate badagry area with even more people.
