topic like this always educate one or two people. but the pride, ego and the "I know everything" behaviour of some people can just ruin the sensation of the holistic.... imagine two medical practitioners/students fighting over an online case. simply because they want the world to know their field.... shiiiooooor, @OP, please don't follow any of their advice except taking the handsome boy to the hospital... these small doctors hardly say a word on cases at teaching hospitals ... only d consultants do the real shit and some SR.... yeye house officers forming on top what they don't know . there is hierarchical order in medical profession too. just like the forces . Professor consultant S.R Registrar Medical Officer House officer medical student. they started making sense from the Registrar. while they started making good sense at Consultant especially on surgery cases.. be wise... don't let a registrar , even Senior Registrar (SR) operates u . .. u only have one life.. and hardly listen to the medical officer downward except on malaria cases 3 Likes 1 Share |

No pain, no fever --- most likely non-infectious/non-inflamatory swellings -- Lipoma maybe -- don't panic, take ur time and see the right specialist -- it's most likely benign/harmless |

Silkmoth33: U r a medical student, I am a medical doctor, u don't tell me what to do, ok? Back to the point jare, in simple terms, it's either allergy or staph/hair follicle infection. Lipoma too, ermmm just maybe. Op, pls go see a dermatologist. |

Silkmoth33: You see, that is where you are getting it all wrong...... I once had a colleague that was just like you while we were in 400L, had this silly ego too, read all of Kumar and Clark, badoe's surgery, etc... Now shining and correcting even a senior registrar during a ward round in front of the consultant... Actually, he should have been dealt with if he were to be in either 500 or 600L, but the consultant overlooked it since he was still young... And yep, the SR was VERY RIGHT!!! Anyway, he forgot all about pathology and pharmacology, failed both courses, he repeated, failed pharmacology and he was withdrawn from the medical programme You are still young, be careful, I pray you won't end up regretting ever being a doctor for the rest of your life..... That's my 2kobo, take it with love...... 1 Like |

For a quack doctor u lack self respect who gives a _fuck if u r a doctor and can't be told what to do, was I trying to tell u what to do? Silkmoth33: Ego is not synonymous to noble. My uncle had a medical emergency and my other uncle a very good consultant Gynecologist and a dean of medicine and surgery department of a university referred us to his friend who was closest to us which is 1 hr away. This Dr with all his 2 decade experience operated on my uncle himself. My uncle was already rotten from inside and this Dr didn't anticipate what he saw being a rural area with limited equipment to test before surgery. The problem he was faced with over whelmed him and he summoned all the Drs among which is a corper. We knew there was a problem as all the Drs ran to the theatre one by one from their quarters. My uncle survived the 30min cum 4hr surgery. The head Dr told us that it was a brain storming session, and all the Drs contributed to the success. Specifically he said, the corper saved my uncle's life with his intellectual ideas. That corper had no ego, he was humble and I gave him all the respect and admiration. The head Dr spent some time telling us how intellectually gifted that coper is. There was no ego. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Who did u type all this rubbish for? Boss pls don't demean urself! U r a doctor for christ's sake. Not once did I tell u that I was a medical student? Not once did I tell u dat the diagnosis was infact a lymphadenopathy cos I remember clearly telling u that my differential was queriable. How dis escalated into a pep fight for who is more superior in a discipline is beyond me. Even after I decided to swallow ur own _fuck up by accepting dat I actually wronged you by being disrespectful, which I didn't; you still had the guts to call my inferior. Ur behavior is shameful and funny enough I don't blame you. U should start looking for how to write ur primaries and stop knocking up hospital broads, only for u to come here to blab about obscene sexcapades. For a doctor u are quick to pressume anything that comes to mind, which is dangerous. U have been insisting that it's not an enlarged lymph node on d lads head when u haven't examined or taking proper history or adequate investigations of the lumps. U also assumed that there are no lymph nodes on the calvaria which I corrected for you. Ps read ur link for other details. You now gave a cooked up analogy of how ur friend failed out of medical school. I sha Hope u don't fail out of residency For all this things uve being saying, lagusta; I've tried to accord u with the slight respect u should get from me as a fellow physician, but u clearly don't even deserve that. See how uve been saying rubbish since about juniors and seniors. I wasnt confident in u as a doctor b4, Sir but now I think u need to fall off ur own horse and do something about ur principles. IMO You are a disgrace if u don't know where ur lymphnodes are. Wish u all the best as u round up the NYSC if u never finish. Lagusta: 1 Like |

But never mind jare my frnd Leme just say this, read my comments on ur post again, I just laughed at ur comments, that's all I did. Cus I wonder why u want to misinform the op. Look at ur reply to my laugh. Check it again. You can school ur aset or wht did u say. I said a staph(specific) / hair follicle (generalised) infection, what's so hard to understand for you. Don't worry, I won't upload my NMA ID card for you. If u like believe, if u like don't. I see the kind of manner you have. All the best, bro in ur endeavours. No matter who you are. |

Loool He said pre auricular, mastoid and occipital lymph nodes, does those swellings look like any nodes in those regions. U cannot help but laugh. The Lord is good, all the time. I told him staph, as a specific cause of the hair follicle infection, is possible or just in simple general terms , hair follicle infection. Bt he won't understand, he's after the abuse part. I'm just here to have fun jare. Nothing serious here mehn. If u like, kill ursef 1 Like |

Cc. Lagusta Come see ur guy! He can't even express himself well in plain English not to talk of asking him to explain the difference btw generalized or specific. And how staphylococcus is exempted from being classified under general by his point of view! Asking him to explain what is perhaps responsible for the general hair follicle infection as he put it is a step too far His entire community no go fit solve d answer if I ask him what folliculitis is. The idiot feels d need to brag about his forged NMA id card and expired license. DjSwaga: |

When two elephants wrestle, the ground suffers! I apologise for our behavior. It was unbecoming and none of u are supposed to witness such. Furthermore the child is not running or under intensive care. His mother has agreed to do a scan in union diagnostics quering multiple calcifications already If you also noticed we advised on the situation before commencing our discussion on the state of the child. We were not squabbling whatsoever and our discussion was to broaden our horizon on the subject matter. Unfortunately my colleague, lagusta thought I was taking a piss, and decided to misbehave. Hence, we had to end the miscontrue discussion MizTyna: |

Lagusta:you have wasted time trying to explain your thoughts to that boy @silkmoth33. To me, he is just an overzealous anatomy student, perhaps in 2nd mbbbs class overjoyed at the prospects of putting his anatomy lectures to use without recourse to an advanced opinion from an elder with clinical knowledge and experience. Next time allow his ignorance fester besides he will soon know better. @Silkmoth33, there is a reason we refer to our seniors as chief in the medical practice. Anatomy and biochemistry might inform your opinions but without clinical spicing, they will always be flawed. Learn to listen to your elders and when they make flaw-like opinions, don't build assumptions on it rather consult your texts. This was how one HO under me kept a px relative on perpetual misery when he prescribed "Gentamycin tabs"..the dude searched for the tabs in almost all the pharmacies around and kept rejecting the IV formular that he saw. Imagine my disappointment and embarrasment when the consultant got to hear of it......The man insulted my whole generations including unborn. I took the blame simply because am the senior, am supposed to know better, guide the HO and be specific with the formular of drug needed. Back to the topic.....Am suspecting a staph infection. The bumps are possibly a consequence of scratching. Besides, the redness lays credence to my assmption plus fever may not be decisive here. @op, what is the consistency? 1 Like |
