7 Nigerian soldiers including Tank commander Abu Ali and Ranger S. M Patrick laid to rest at the Military Cemetery in Abuja.

"If someone must die, let it be me" were the last words of the selfless Tank commander, Abu Ali.

Collosal loss for Nigeria , but the operation to rid Nigeria off the vermin of terrorism must continue, and unabated.

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE REPELLED BOKO HARAM TERRORIST
ATTACK ON OWN GROUND FORCES AT KANGARWA

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter aircraft yesterday repelled
attack by the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) on own ground
troops at Kangarwa in northern Borno State. Following the
report of the attack, 3 x fighter jets and a reconnaissance
aircraft were immediately deployed for the operation. While
the fighter aircraft were scrambled to repel the attack, the
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft
was deployed to give guidance to ground troops on the
position equipment and strength of the BHTs. The operation
which started at about 1700 hours (5pm) continued till late
evening at about 1915 hours (7:15pm) before the attack was
successfully repelled. Before repelling the attack at
Kangarwa, the NAF also conducted a number of day and
night operations yesterday. The air interdiction missions
were aimed at decimating the operational capability of the
insurgents. The operations were carried out at Kashimeri,
Tumbu Gini, chukugudu and other BHT strongholds from
where the insurgents launch attack on Bama and
neighbouring settlements.

This just answered my questions. Thumbs up to the NAF.
Wish a Mi-24 was there to deal with that technical.

F-7s are fantastic daytime linear interceptors (short legged if i may add)
Ah!! The love affair between the NAF and the alpha jets is like a union bound in hell, all the right reasons and all the wrong reasons.

If they can't stand cutting the alphas, then creating an October 1st aerobatics display team out of the alphas shouldnt be a bad idea. Just don't fly them into battle no more.

What does this mean? In english.

The Nigerian army requires it's own attack air wing. A dedicated air wing. This is also were i agree with @Rugged7, instead of churning daily doses of propaganda and blame, the Buhari government should have facilitated and fast tracked a quick delivery of equipment.

We all knew the dry season was coming, with the dry season hostilities between the Nigerian army and BHT would resume. This wasn't unexpected.

Linear=Straight, well that's basically all i really understood!

Maybe he meant that the F-7 is fast in a straight line?? They always talk about interceptors needing excellent linear speed/Straight line speed!!

But personally ive never heard of a Linear Interceptor

You wont really need the Super Tucano if you're buying the JF-17, but if you're going for a dedicated COIN aircraft, IMO Nigeria should invest in the ARHLAC, it would cost half of what the Tucano costs and has a longer range and endurance, it also has more hard-points and can take-off from a 550m runway when fully loaded, max payload is also only slightly less than that of the A29!

really ,pls d A29 is a machine on it's own, we need both crafts for different purposes.

pls in detailed form,hw would d ARHLAC favor Nigeria in coin ops than d A29

What type of equipment are we expecting from the army now? What type of attack helicopter is the army planning to get too.

Those technical went somewhere, I guess the NAF tracked them down.

yes i can 100% confirm u r going to see a dedicated army aviation wing .

lot of things have to be done other than buying before establishing the same.

ur army guys r all the place looking to benefit from other countries army aviation experience/SOPs etc.

it will take some time . but the order/intent is clear.

Much cheaper, better range, better endurance, more hard-points, can take off from a 550m runway.

Also the very real possibility that Nigerian companies can partner with paramount in the further development of the ARHLAC which would include local manufacturing of the aircraft as well!

Judging by the video posted, our ground troops were being covered by some sort of barricade in circle therefore making it easy for the Airforce.

However, the I don't like this African aircraft or so.. Lol

i think by linear interceptor , he meant F7 is suited too well for the role of interception/interdiction grin grin grin grin grin

like a pole custom designed to fit inside a hole grin

other roles r pretty much like sub-secondary to secondary interception role which again is the same as the primary interception role . grin shocked grin

Yes bro. It looks like like an "advance toy "

American A-10 would have been a great deal for Nigeria against terrorism. A nice and dangerous CAS aircraft. However, America will not sell.
