Thanks for the response. I have sought professional help from an immigration lawyer to pick holes in my application and also requested for the GCMS notes.

I was a bit furious when I typed the note so apologies for my strong language. But you can always trust Nigerians to respond with their "I am better than you" cap than profer solutions to the issues.

1. There is nothing wrong with inviting your spouse to visit or live with you if you are either a student or foreign worker. Nobody mentioned having any rights. Countless number of folks have done it even while we were in school.

2. My wife is included in my PR application to the Federal government as a provincial nominee so no need for additional filing when that comes in

3. I only mentioned my salary to put into context the financial conditions under which we applied for the visa. I am not contesting how much anyone else makes or whether they have global citizenship

4. Implying that a visiting visa is not a proper way is wrong. It is only a two-step way rather than outrightly applying for a Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP). My wife had a job at the time. The intention was to visit and if she finds opportunities in the city where I live, she will resign and apply for a work permit within Canada.

5. Why am I in such a rush? We have been married for over one year. I do not think it is out of line to ask for your new wife to visit you. Or, is there a timeline to applying for a spouse after marriage.

6. When you say they are not idiots. Nobody said they are. I do not believe a wife visiting her husband legally working in another country is implying that the immigration officers are idiots.

Nonetheless, thanks a lot for your response.

I really love your response. So matured and concise.

I hope you didn't leave a loophole in your application. As far as tourist visa is concerned, you should indicate you are all going together; which must reflect in your purpose of visit. Saying that you are going to join him later signifies an intent of not coming back again.

that was our plan though it wasn't written in the application.hope you understand me?

Alright madam. You can re-apply then and try to address the issues raised for the denials. We only try to analyse issues based on what they have on their website but the final decision is still theirs. One can carry all "carriables", jump am with an application, and they will still deny while one can put some little documents and they give.
It will end in praise, madam.

I've been dealing with Immigration Canada for some time. And one thing they are not are idiots. You got married and applied for a visiting visa for your wife. Its obvious that you planned to bring her to Canada to live WITHOUT going through the proper immigration route. You're currently just on a WORKING visa until you get your permanent residence card, then you'll have more rights. You have NO right to bring your wife to Canada as of yet. Relax and cool down. Wait till you get your PR card then start filing for your wife. Why are you in such a rush. You have a 6 figure job and will soon be a PR. You're in a better situation than most immigrants. Just wait till you get your PR. I'm a Canadian citizen and I've been trying to get my cousin here for 2 to 3 years and I also make 6 figures. They've been giving me grief, so who the hell are you, a non citizen to them? Your time will come, just wait for a bit.

These types of tone and comments should be unacceptable in this forum. It tends to discourage people from expressing themselves and asking questions here in order to get the needed help for fear of lash backs and comments like these. All questions however stupid or unusual they may seem should be welcome here without the harsh tone and comments and comparisms. Otherwise the very purpose of this forum has been defeated. This is my opinion and observation. Oga Citizen, your tone may not have been intended to offend anyone but Pls let's be guided.

No shaking. I'm giving you a real life answer. If you want a sugar coated answer go to a different board. We're all grown here, at this age we can handle the truth. And yes as a Canadian citizen I am better and more valued than you are until you get citizenship. At least in the eyes of MY Canadian government. I cannot be deported and I get first bids on certain jobs within the country. It's simply a fact, no need to get emotional. But back to the matter:

1. Nothing is wrong with that. But they'll be skeptical about it for obvious reasons. And please stop comparing your situation with another persons. Each file or immigration issue is unique.

2. You did not mention that. Either way nothing has been granted to you or your wife, so the gov't doesn't have the obligation to grant you anything.

3. Never accused you of such. I don't get this response.

4. What you think is a proper way to do things, immigration may not, even though it's not illegal. Like you said, "The intention was to visit and if she finds opportunities in the city where I live, she will resign and apply for a work permit within Canada." No sane person would go back to naija with the economic situation, lack of basic amenities, etc. They know that. And whether you want to admit it or not, both your plans was to find a job in Canada and be done with naija. Again they're not foolish my guy.

5. Don't act like you didn't know this may be the situation. Why you're acting surprised is beyond me. You think you're the only one trying to bring his spouse here? Again you're not even a PR or citizen yet. I'm sure those peoples application are more urgent. Because a citizen can actually take the government to court if they've been waiting such an unreasonable time (more perks I have over you). My guy from PH who's a citizen just brought his wife over who's from Abia. Took less than a year. A coincidence ?

Bros no vex. But I have seen people come or try to come here through any means possible you can think off. Any immigration lawyer will tell you no immigration process is black or white. But to feel frustrated about immigration issues without any real status in the country, wey they can even deport you tomorrow sef, is comical. The gov't wouldn't even take your complaints seriously. My 2 cents.

DOn't be scared, my man. If we don't conquer fear, how are we expected to win? Today's denial doesn't mean outright denial; it means they didn't see any reason to grant visa now but maybe next time, they will see 1001 reasons to grant the visa.
Quite encouraging!

Myself and my spouse are first time applicants, we did paper route and and got our passports back yesterday just after almost 4wks with 1 year approved visa each. How I wish for more as our passports still have validity of up to 3 and 4 years respectively. I'm sure they have their reason for the decision and I'm taking nothing for granted, I thank God. Below is a list of all documents included in our application. I have learnt a lot from this thread and I hope our transcript helps someone too.

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED: (tried following @jayfierce’s well composed format)

Travel History:
1. Photocopies of previous travels on expired passport which include 3 expired visas for South Africa with 4 entry and exit stamps, expired 6months UK visa used once, Dubai entry and exit stamps(once), Maldives entry and exit stamps(once).
2. SPOUSE: Photocopies of Dubai entry and exit stamps(3 times), Maldives entry and exit stamps(once).
3. Recent Passport with valid US visa used once for BOTH of us to expire later next year.

Proof of Means of Financial Support:
1. My company CAC documents.
2. Letter of Introduction prepared by my secretary on company letterhead, signed and stamped with company seal.
3. Self Introduction and Plan Itinerary on company letterhead as well(covers purpose of travel as vacationing and also mentioned a few places we’d love to visit.
4. Company statement of account for 9 months. With bank introduction letter stating my name as sole signatory to the account.
5. My personal statement of account for 6 months.
6. Wife's Employment letter/Confirmation of appointment.
7. Wife's six months payslip & 6 months statement of salary account.
8. Joint statement of account for 6 months.
9. CSCS statement & Treasury Bills investment letter.

NOTE: Perhaps some of the above counts for "Home Ties".

Purpose of Travel:
1. Vacation, was mentioned in the "Self Introduction” letter above.
2. Trip itinerary.
3. Flight itinerary(photocopy of email from agent).
4. Hotel booking(booked by agent which got me sweating profusely when I received an email from Expedia that its been cancelled in the middle of our application processing, thanks @jayfierce & @awelekiti for helping a brother relax and keep calm).

Other documents included:
1. Marriage certificate.
2. Wife’s sworn affidavit of change of name.
3. Newspaper publication of wife's change of name page.

And most importantly, PRAYER.

Best of luck to all.

I was honestly scared about that Expedia issue. I really thank God for everything. Congrats sir!

@ Everyone. I mistakenly skipped some documents I listed for Travel history. I included all hotel bookings from booking.com. I included all email confirmations for flights bookings. As overkill, I included GTB transaction receipts.
For Proof of funds I didn't list an annual payment sheet summary from my company.

Apologies for that.

Yes, you can : If you are in small cities like Leamington,Windsor, etc, you can do a farm or green house jobs grin grin...they are odd jobs and the companies do not really scrutinize you documents that much.

No, you can't : According to CIC, you are not allowed to work without WORK PERMIT

Most of us May 2016 applicants have gotten feedback from IRCC. The case enquiry should work. Please verify you submitted the correct details.

@Everyone, please do we still have any other May 2016 applicants still waiting on a decision in the house?

First of all you need to work on your psychology about this January 2017 story. Don't apply in haste and get disappointed because of lack of proper preparation. More haste, less speed.

Truthfullly, I do not believe that the embassy can request for a more recent account statement directly from the bank. However, please do not lie about your source of funds. They have their way of finding out such misrepresentation. They can ask you to get a more recent statement of account or deny your application all altogether. Suffice it to say it would be unwise to lodge cash without explanation and verifiable proof.

Your job, travel history, landed property(though in your maiden name), and marriage, all count as good ties and your husband can also be your sponsor. Be ready with verifiable documentation. Paper application has proven to be faster. Please avoid using any agents. Thank you.

"that's why I want to apply as a business woman, again." Please what do you mean by the highlighted statement? Have you applied for canada visa as business woman before?

However, @Jayfierce has very much said it all, I think it will be important that your husband be your sponsor. That should reduce the attention on your own statement of account a little bit and should be a strong statement for home tie too. But your husband should be prepared to provide supporting documentations as the sponsor too including bank statements and availability of funds to cover the purpose of the trip. As for the landed document in your maiden name, did you make a newspaper publication when you switched from your maiden to husband's? If so, I think you should include that in your application too. Overall, take your time and prepare well. Very important.

Thank you for your input. The matter has been laid to rest already. Nobody is above mistakes and nobody is IRCC/CIC here. What amazes me most is that, some people give pieces of advice on this forum as if they are IRCC. They have forgotten that circumstances and experiences of applicants differ. Probably because they're so lucky to have got a Canada visa based on their own circumstances, they believe such circumstances are applicable in all applications and cases. They think IRCC/CIC are angels, who don't reason nor make mistakes like human beings. Applicants' documents have been returned incomplete in the past...it had happened to me in 2006. I contacted them and got my documents back. That was the time CIC was still requesting original documents before VFS and online application were introduced. Applicants' documents have been mixedup in t past, etc. They're not angels. If I said I submitted a vital document that could have helped my application, backing it with letters with enough proofs that showed it wasn't a deliberate action after my documents had already been submitted and you're doubting it, acting as if you're a visa officer, then it's your palaver. It is needless to say or share what I didn't experience in this forum during my past quest for a Canada visa at this stage of my life. I won't be doing applicants any favour by doing so. I've been called names here in the past but I'm not moved by that because many of them are old enough to be the least staff under my payroll and that's a fact. My present Canada visa will be my 4th, and the 45th, if added to other embassies I'd got their visas globally so, why would I attempt to mislead young applicants here? It won't do me any good. If an embassy says you shouldn't send them emails on your case and because of that, you kept quiet and ignored some vital issues that could have helped your application by not emailing them, if your visa outcome turns negative, you should blame yourself. That does not mean you shouldn't double-check or scrutinise your application and documents before submitting it, to avoid refusal. CIC states clearly on their website that once an application was submitted, you couldn't send-in more documents....they know if people are given such an opportunity, it would be abused, likewise sending them emails because it could either distract them or delay their applications. Here in this forum, I apply my case and experience most of the time and that doesn't mean I know it all. It doesn't also mean I'm perfect. There are people with different experiences and cases. But in a situation where somebody is claiming superiority and acts as if he's IRCC, creating fears in the minds of the people who need help, that's a big problem and it's totally unacceptable. No matter people's negative feelings about me, I'm not deterred. I'm anonymous and I'd always remain one. I'm a comfortable businessman and I thank God for that. I only come here at my leisure or when I feel like taking a break from my work schedule to post comments. I've got more important things to do than attend to people's reactions. At times, silence is just more than ''the best answer'' for such people. Have a great day.

Now that is childish and i don't expect that from you as a matured adult. I don't think you have met me or many members here to make that bold comment.

There are 195 countries in the world, i don't need a visa to visit 175 of them and i seriously doubt that you can pay my salary

I only pointed out that you shouldn't encourage her to declare a friend as fiance because they are not yet judging by her posts so far.

How easy is it to get your resident permit in canada with tourist multiple entry visa. I was told that one can easily get company work with your tourist visa and the company will assist you in getting work permit, and all these can happen in maximum of two months. Please i would appreciate it so deeply if a candid and experienced answer is given to this question because it is about life and death with a brother and an agent who assured him of all these promises. Please assist me sincerely. God bless you.

There is no truth in that and it will not happen in a lifetime.

Tourist visa is purely for tourism and not work permit, you can't seek employment with it in Canada neither will any genuine company call you for an interview with that let lone employment.

Tell that dubious agent to go to hell.
