It's not like we're cultivating up to half of our rice consumption capacity yet. To me the scarcity of rice is not because of high demand, it's due to almost non-existent local supply. Even the other foods you talk about, it's not like they're too available. |

We no even eat rich reach the Chinese ppl so i no know wetin op dey complain about. And by the way if we no come dey chop rice wetin u expect us to come dey chop hehe. But on a more serious note wat op shold be more concerned about is nigerians having a balanced diet and including vegetables and fruits in their consumption.THat is the most important thing. We should try to include vegetables in our meals. You tell me wich is more nutritious between these two meals...A huge bowl of akpu or fufu with another small bowl of watery soup wit nothin on it or a plate of jollof rice with lots of vegetables and ice fish...which between the two meals is more nutritious?. Anyway personally beans is my favourite meal and after beans na rice.wats important is having a balanced diet.wen ur diet is balanced na so ur skin go dey shine. 1 Like 1 Share |

Whenever my wife say, "Rice ile tife tan" (not much rice in store), fear grips me. Why? Because it is a cost less food to eat. It is what we resolve to when other foods have finished and we have not restock. And like somebody said, it has a longer shelf life. Half bag of rice lasts 3 months in our house. We dare not buy half bag of beans. These are the reasons why rice is the most consumed food. |
