I was practicing in a large compound in Festac, I forgot to step on the break and i rammed into the wall and parked damaging my first vehicle.
I was accompnied by a mechanic to drive to work From Festac to VI, after the 2nd escort, I grew confident

While i was learning after my secondary school. Whenever my parents were out, i would use the spare car at home to practise reversing in my small compound. After feeling myself a pro, i decided to park is back where i carried it. I decided to do 'james BOND' and speed towards the parking area. After speeding i would match the brake hard to initiate screeching.

Foolishly of me, my brain was telling me not to hit the brakes and see what would happen if i hit the wall (devil truly whispers to one oooo).

So while i was speeding i refused stepping on the brake and BOOM! There went the downfall of our fence. Luckily it was only the size of the car that ate the fence.

Asides from that luck, i didn't hit the mast behind us, the BMW 2 series did not dent except with minor scratches and broken trafficating light. Since that day i never tried any stunt

I scratch a woman's car while trying to buy fuel... The woman was blowing hot n cold everywhere. But na beg I beg am....patted her on the back. I think I must ve kissed her cheek. can't remember.


oh I also scratch one man's New keke napep whilst trying to come out of a narrow street.
the man screamed; E bole ewa wo (come down n take a look). I came down n saw nothing but as usual I begged him. everyone was begging too.

Well it wasn't me dat it happend 2,but i was in d car too(my co learner)..... It was a frnds driving skool,he offered 2 help me learn,so on dat faithful day,i was bhind d wheels taking instructions 4rm my frnd....but there was dis busybody at d back seat(cos if its nt ur turn 2 drive,u will seat at d bck seat(co learners))d busybody kept on shouting nd also instructing me.lyk he is nw an expert.telling me wat 2 do nd wat nt 2 do.i bcame angry nd came down 4 him 2 drive(even d instructor was angry). So we asked hm 2 drive...he was all excited nd jumped in nd even refused listening 2 d instructor,b4 we knew it,he zoomed off.at 1st he was doing fine,then he increased his speed nd d problem started. We got 2 a bend,he didnt slow down,at 1st i was comfortable tinking he knws wat he was doing,nt until i looked at his face nd saw him sweating nd panting,i tapped d instructor nd held his shoulder...meanwhile d "SABI GUY" was still on full speed nd there was a thick bush in front of us.i nd d instructor sensing dat we were heading 2wards d bush,started shouting"march break,march break". D guy removed his hands 4rm d steering nd bent his head down looking 4 d breaks shouting"wey am wey am wey am". (4 my mind i say"i die well,na who send me ehhhhhh"instructor dey shout "jesus ehhhhhhh"...we just entered d bush wit full speed nd kept on hitting nd falling plants untill we were stopped by a thick plantain plantation....d instructor nd d busybody were slightly injured....when we came down,d instructor gave d guy a very big slap nd heavy kick..but i couldn't do any tin(cos i was shaking all over,nd praising God silently). Mehn 4 two weeks i no near motor,it was d instructor nd my mum dat persuaded me 2 go bck nd continue(4giv my english pls

Those saying they were never learner don't really understand English - literally.

Mouthing the wheel of the car and being able to move with no assistance is not what is regarded as learning.

The act of getting experience while on the road is what is regarded as learning, any inexperience driver is a learner.

Driving is experience which, really, nobody will teach you.

My incidence was trying to exit an express lane to a service lane. I was in the far lane to the left, I was very close to exiting point, instead of slowing down to change lane and enter the back on the vehicle by my right side, I overtook the long vehicle and slow right in front of it so I can exit. Everyone was just shouting .....I was scared but nothing happened. This was the best learning point in my early driving days.

My worst experience was when i tried turning and somehow my tyre rubbed against another car's rear bumper......hydraulic oil fixed it.......my driving instructors told me i was their best student so far.....neer had an accident.......only that my car stalled frequently the first 4 days(learning how to clutch properly).....after that i was so good one of the instructors hung unto me and trained only me at my time saying he did not want the stress of teaching the others.....two weeks later he made me his personal driver till my one month in dtiving school was up..
Even my mom was shocked when i drove her after the first week of my training

Once i was tryna climb a bump on a narrow road....reduced my speed and there was a keke on the bump even before i got there.....nexy thing the keke man decides to take forever to climb the bump n im about to and since the road is narrow i end up scrstching his keke(d keke sef na old and dilapidsted scrap) the man started shouting and me just bone eye and went my way....later used hydraulic oil to conceal d scratch on my car cos it was really small

Also almost hit a guy....i parked behind a car in a market and the street was full of pedestrians with no regard for vehicles.....as i try to turn into the street i over accelerated n d ppl had to run out of my way....just marched brakes b4 i hit d man.....brought down my Windows n apologised....and they calmed down upon seeing i was on L

Am still learning,doing pretty well shaa.Can't wait to become very good at it.

Also when i was a kid (they said i was 3) my uncle left his 504 key on thr sofa n i being a kid that wanted to drive carried the key......did not know anything about gear or clutch or brake....all i knew was slot key in and turn.....i hung from the window cos i was scared the csr would move if i entered.....so i stretched my hand and pit the key as i turned car started moving i unhung myself from the window and fell on the floor and the car just hit the wall.....i was shocked they did not flog me that day cos i was expecting enuff flogging

i always started my car with my gear in 1 and accelerator pressed down cos normal process was difficult to me....so when the car jerks i quickly clutch and hold my break

First time behind d wheels for me was in owerri, a long time ago. I had kept pestering my cousins to allow me drive their cars but they refused. Na so one faithful day one of my cousins took ill and I had to run errands for him.
Na that time I learn say driving in ur head and starting a car na two different things.
I must have driven that car like a million times in my dream but in real life the 4king car no gree move. It started without problem but when I want to move it, it will jerk and go off. I must have been there for over an hour trying to get that car to move.
Anyway I finally suceeded after a while but I should have known that my initial stress was a sign of more problems to come. 10 minutes from the house at the mechanic workshop I was bringing the car to, I almost ended the life of the mechanic and his boys. To worsen matter, the crazy car stopped and refused to come back on.
Luckily the guy knew my cousin's car so he came out from his hiding place thinking it was my cousin. When he saw me, he almost ran back in till I called his name, my cousin had told me to call him by name.
Anyway he checked the car and found out I had completely burnt down the battery from the perpetual starting and going off, I had also destroyed the trigger head or so of the alternator (car experts make una no vex, thats what the guy told me then).
My sick cousin almost busted a gasket with laughter when I returned to his place with very round saucer eyes telling him what I had gone through.

Am actually learning with a 6 gear 42 seater bus, i have only driven once on a main road, once i drove out of our bus depot, i parked infront of some shops cos i was waiting for the driver, the shop owner said i should go to the front i was blocking her, i drove forward and blocked another shop, the other shop owner told me to move away so i just decided to reverse the same way i came since i have barely stayed a minute, while reversing straight i was looking at my mirror and everything was good not till i heard GBOAAH! That was when i remembered Blind spot, i don jam one toyota like that for back. As i was coming down from the bus i met this tribal marked angry ibadan man shouting driver ''motor yi da'', i just said ''e ma binu sir, a ni panel beater ni depot wa'' and i got a dirty slap mehn and our panel repaired his damaged boot. Before then pple don dey tell me ''gbese n run lori e''since then i no drive for road again na inside our depot.

The very first day i tried to drive a bus running on idle, i just clutched it and selected gear 3 instead of 1, i removed my leg from the clutch and the bus went off, and the kick starter no dey always respond so i was starting it without knowing i should have removed it from gear, before i knew it o, the kick don catch fire from under the bus, everyone just dey pour water the driver dey look me with cigar for him hand, me wey never reach 2 month for the job don burn kick of 30k, but anyways the driver cover me sha and till today no one knew what really happened that day

Mine i just came back from work that day with my car, reaching home i discovered i hv forgotten my phone charger in the office, i hv to go back since my office was not too far from my home. While going back within my street i saw this my elderly church woman who care to joined me out from our street, i was so happy because she was amazed that i can drive. My brothers n sisters while going smoothly i discovered there was a tight traffic due to closing time of one school in my street, and instead of me to exercise patience i said let me show this mama that am a James bond. Started reversing and started hearing people shouting everywhere "stop, hold break" i was hitting the park Mercedes vboot still smashing it along. When i finally locate where the break was, i was sweating profusely and mama was like " oh my God" my brother i repaired everything repairable in that car because the owner no hear a beg or am sorry, then the elderly mama after she tried her best to plea without any positive result, mama walk away. My regret for that day fit full river Niger.

My experience was a bit funny,afta finishing frm driving school the 1st car i handled *fear grip me o lol* was a benz ml 500 jeep and the gear was by the neck of the steering *thank you topgear lol* and i do very scary things experienced drivers ask how i do it. I dont know i just take the risk!

My experience as a learner was awful, after weeks of learning my dad decided it was time I keep practicing till I become perfect. The deal was was I had to drop my younger sister in school and pick her up later in the afternoon, the distance from the school to my house wasn't far but I had other intentions. My friend who was also a learner became my partner. After dropping my little sis in school we decided to pick random pretty girls by the roadside, we picked this particular damsel around Onikan waterfront and decided to drop her on the mainland around Ikeja, when we got to Maryland the car broke down, there was no fuel and the car started overheating finally the car broke down on the highway. At that very moment I had no drivers license. Due to the breakdown there was serious traffic before you could say jack Robinson FRSC officials stormed the scene, they asked what the problem was, they asked for my driver's licence, which i could not produce, they had to toll the vehicle to their office at alausa, the girl we picked all the way from onikan left us without saying a word. I had to beg so I could call my dad. It wasn't funny at all.

Heading towards a roundabout! Na die o.

I picked a car key one sunny afternoon after I have been driving on streets, like a professional, straight to Ijegun from Egbeda area, on the seat beside me was a guy that doesn't know how to turn a steering let alone drive.

On our way to Ikotun, VIO stopped us for not using seat belt, whereas I didn't even have learner's permit or anything, but I hv my 'L' at the front and back, when he asked me, I told him that I was taking the car to mechanic shop. To cut the long story short, he collected the N1200 with me. I still continued with my journey though after the payment.

But after every 10 minutes of driving, we will park somewhere for the car to cool a little, not knowing it was because I was pressing the clutch and accelerator together. Till today, only my little brother knew I did such.

No bashing sha but nearly hit a guy by the road side, didn't know I was off the road!

i was just horning at a girl that was going her own jeje o, instead of me to follow my lane, i was now moving directly to where the babe was heading to. Thank God someone was inside the car to direct me accordingly.

na so Me i enter car oh, I used a teaspoon as the ignition key, back then papa use to travel with his Car keys, I drove the car using only gear 1 , I didn't even know how to brake, the car finally brake behind police hilux in motion, 1996 operation flush, PHc. . . I can't say the rest.

I never learned how to drive a car, i just bought a car on Craigslist and the owner agreed to drive it from New York to New Jersey and park it in my garage, i bought a New Jersey license plate and put on it, i only drove the car to school, when i got tired, i went to the DMV and got my drivers license

Everyone has an experience while learning d act of driving, some experiences terrible while others even more terrifying or life threatening at worst.. from tire burst to gutter plunge even bashing other commuters...

I was on the bridge linking wuse to kano, mabushi, life camp and gwarimpa and all of a sudden I got scared and my car started swerving out of control like my brake was bad on the bridge?! Trust naija every one cleared like I had ebook and some were staring at me. A nice elderly man made hand sign to me to calm down... I parked, calmed my nerves and drove like a snail on the bridge.. Chopped insults But got home safely!

Mine was a bad experience. it happened along Ibadan - Oyo expresseway. I had asked my instructor that I should over-take the trailer before, but he insisted that I follow it. And of the things I hated most was applying brakes on motion. The trailer got close to their park and slowed down, so I came beside it. Then all of a sudden, I saw a man rolling a trailer tyre opposite and towards me, and the road was tight at that point. Even my instructor thought we would end up there. I just managed to swing my steering slightly towards the trailer and the man also bent the tyre. After, I saw a very wide pot hole. I knew it was time to disobey my instructor. I just reved up the car and entered the front of the trailer. After all the display of James bond, he asked me to park the car and he went out to defecate. He later told me he thought i was going to run under the trailer and hailed my show of courage. Anyway, I was a good player of GTA, so I used the games driving experience while learning.

My own is with all these okada men that think they av 9 lifes, that was how i wanted 2 turn at an intersection, i looked left n right and saw dat it was ok 2 pull out, the next tin i saw was dat okada was under my tire, luckily d okada man jumped off his okada, d bumper damaged, thank God no life was lost, since then i am more careful abt okada than a trailer.
