"Kemi you missed this afternoon"

"Wetin happen?"

"My dear,shei you see that oga wey de stay for fourth floor wey the claim fine boy and Americana na so yesterday police come carry am according to
them say I'm duped some people na im run"

"Tell me something" she said and folded her hands across her chest "wait o,no be him the form politician son?"

"Politician fire,see as im the insist make we call Mr Jim,my sister you no go believe wetin be im real name"

"Wait o,why e sound as if na alebo you the try pronounce"

"Na so me self see am,come see gbege as they the carry am comot,instead of him to just cool down make everything quiet na so im just the shout say, my father will hear,all of you will arrested for trying to humiliate me,babe na so one police man ask am whether na im father wey dey village him the talk about"

She kept quiet as the elevator opened. Kemi and Shola walked out of the elevator together pushing their cart filled with toiletries. "Babe no disappear after our shift end o,remember you promise me beer"

"You too like free things,oya help me clean some of my rooms I go double the bottle"

"If I help you na three bottles be that o"

"No yawa oya come" she replied as they kept walking. "Wait o,person leave im tap on comot abi wetin? Why water just full ground here"

"Make we check see which room the cause am" On getting to the door,she knocked but no response "shei u the hear the water wey dey pour for inside?" She quickly used her card to open the door and they both walked
in,the room was not flooded like they thought rather it was just the water coming out the bathroom that was going out since the bathroom was close to the door. She walked in to close the tap and then she saw a woman in the tub with blood dripping from her wrists immediately she started to scream which alerted Shola who rushed in to see what the problem was. "Jesus Christ,I dey come make I call receptionist sharp sharp" she dashed out and used the room's telephone to call. Soon the room was flooded with staffs and the woman from the bath tub was being rushed to the hospital.





Adams was working on a painting when he phone rang,the caller ID was Adanna so he quickly answered "where have you been and why haven't you been
picking up your calls"

"Good evening sir,please my name is Gordon Adikwu am the manager of Sets hotel,we had a little situation today involving the owner of the phone,we are currently at the hospital and since we could not identify her, we had
to search through her phone and your number was the last she called,please are you a member of her family or can you point us to one so we can identify her and settle everything"

"Am her friend,just tell me the hospital you are in right and I will come and meet you" once he got the information from the man he quickly grabbed his
car keys and ran out. He got to the hospital in record time and in no time met with the man who he had earlier spoken to on the phone,who also gave him Adanna's personal items found in her hotel room and also briefed him on the situation,he was also introduced to a police man who the hotel had called and he supplied his necessary information and answered the questions
asked. He also had to fill some necessary documents for the hospital. He couldn't see the doctor at the moment since they were in surgery and not wanting to be alone,called Susan and briefed her on the matter and she also got to the hospital in record time. They sat together waiting for the doctor to come out. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the
doctor walked out and they rushed towards him bombarding him with questions. Once he ascertain they were the closest thing she had to a family and they
knew his patient well he led them to his office and gave them an update on her and how she was stable at the moment. He further asked questions to know more about her and also to know if she had ever tried to harm herself before,they answered his questions to the best of their knowledge and also filled him in on what had been happening to her for the past months,when
they were through he replied

"Well with all that you have told me about her,I can see why she carried out the act tho I need to say that she is very lucky to be alive and she has some factors to thank for it,like the fact she was in cold water helped
her because if it was hot water,honestly I don't think we will be having this conversation right now because it would have made her bleed more rapidly since it would make her veins to open up and also while slashing
her wrist all she did was a single lateral cut on each wrist which practically did maximum damage to the tendons and minimal to the veins which maximized the probability of the wounds closing before she suffers
lethal blood loss. Also the damage to the tendons also made it possible so that she could not make further cuts on herself. Its too early to say anything but from everything I have seen its safe to say she will survive
this but also another thing was the timing was good because if those hotel attendants hadn't found her when they did it would have been a different story all together." He told them

"Okay,so where we are right now,what are the steps forward for her" Adams asked

Removing his glasses and setting it on a pile of files,he looked at them for a while and said "Am not going to lie its going to be a tough journey from now because right now all we have to do is wait and pray she she makes
it out alive and once she is strong enough there is going to be a psych ward,there will be a subscription to a powerful antidepressants and then we can begin hope for a gradual recovery but there is also going to be therapy because from all you have told me its my belief she needs to just open up and let things out. We can just hope she is strong enough to just face everything. Picking up his glasses again he started to take some notes and they asked if they could see her,he replied that they could but should not stay in her room for more than five minutes. He buzzed a nurse who led them
to see her in the Intensive Care Unit. They had earlier wanted to spend the night at the hospital but was advised by a nurse that Adanna needed them
strong and well rested and also pointed out that they was little they could do to help her at the moment.


The media had a field day when news broke of Adanna's suicide attempt,many people who were against her switched sides and blamed the media for what happened to her and some felt Samuel was at fault. A lot of columnists wrote articles airing their views on the matter.


Once Adanna regained conscious and the doctors gave the greenlight,there was a terrifying psych ward with anti depressants plus they were all these nurses who couldn't even pretend to like her and made her felt more
miserable and then there were these annoying therapy sessions and she could not wait to be released from the hospital. After one of such sessions she made a vow to herself that she will never attempt to take her life ever
again and if she should ever attempt it then she will make sure she get it right. During the course of her treatment there had been some attempts by some media outlets to get exclusive pictures of her in the hospital. Some had been successful since they paid some staffs who took such photographs of her,others didn't have such luck and some even lost their jobs. The
weeks seem to drag by and the only thing sustaining her were visits from Adams and Susan but even then they seem to have this worried look like they were scared she will do something crazy well she wouldn't blame them
because the way she was feeling currently doing something crazy will surely bring a new spark in her and that was needed to end this dull ache inside her. Just when she was giving up hope that she will never leave the hospital, she was discharged tho she still had therapy and visits to see the doctor weekly. Once she was home,it felt like she was in another prison
because Susan and Adams took turns to watch over her like she was a kid who needed protection,she loved them both but they just made her feel choked
and it was getting her depressed. During counselling some weeks later,she explained to her coach how she felt and asked if it was okay to take some
time off for a short vacation. At first, the doctors wouldn't let her go but later relented when he felt it might be beneficial for her to take a break from her surrounding. It was obvious that everyone kicked against the vacation because she insisted on going alone and there were scarred she was going to hurt herself again. She had requested for a month but the doctor wouldn't accept they later agreed on ten days and she was to check in with him and also to take her meds.




These past few weeks has been the best Kylie had ever had,due to the publicity she has been receiving her clientele was rapidly increasing so much that she started her own decorating company since she she couldn't keep up anymore and since her baby will be due next month,she wanted to slow things down and rest well. She didn't go for field work rather sat back in her office and ran the whole organization. For a while she thought she was going to loose patronage after Adanna's suicide attempt but that was for only a short time because she had more clients rushing in,she was
scared she wouldn't be able to keep up. Samuel has been the perfect husband all this time,since the divorce was still pending they decided to buy another house at Lekki which the moved into. Her only constant worry was that the divorce couldn't end fast enough, she just wanted to have her husband all to her self,speaking of her husband Samuel seemed to be having the best time of his career because with his new popularity,he was not only promoted but he was like the poster boy for the company. He seem to head a lot of campaigns now tho there are still a few hiccups as some people refuse to work with him especially some females who insisted that he had nothing to do with their project or else they will hive the contract elsewhere. After the suicide attempt they were more requests to get him off a
project but things seem to be returning back to normal and their perfect little world was just getting better.

Adanna arrived at Cape Town International Airport and was picked up by a chauffeur and driven to the Romney Park All Suite Hotel and Spa located in Green Point on the Cape's Atlantic Seaboard. Since she had never left the shores after Nigeria before she felt she was safer booking everything before travelling because she didn't want to get lost and have her face plastered across the web as a missing person. The thirty minutes drive to the hotel was the most fascinating thing she had ever experienced, the driver kept pointing and showing her places she had no idea of but from the way he spoke they seem to be important. Soon she arrived at the hotel and checked in and her luggage was carried by a staff as he led her to the apartment. On the elevator ride he told her about their services they rendered and how
the place was built in 1997, that there was free WiFi and that there was also free newspaper in the lobby,she didn't really pay him much attention because she was jet lagged and most of the things he was telling her,she
already knew when she browsed the net looking for info about the hotel. As soon as she was settled in her apartment,she had her bath and went straight to bed without eating.

When she woke up the next morning she was a bit disoriented seeing herself in a strange room but that quickly disappeared as remembered where she was. There was loud rumble in her stomach as if announcing that it had been ignored for too long. She used the telephone beside her bed to order for breakfast,when she was checking up the hotel it stated that its breakfast were free so she might as well enjoy it. Once she had eaten,her brain finally started working well and she noticed her apartment for the first time,she had checked the place out online but even that had not prepared her for what she was seeing right now,she walked round the place taking every thing in,the one word to best describe it was stunning. She was staying in a bedroom apartment, it had a spacious living room and kitchenette that even had a microwave and a coffee and tea making machine. She went to the bathroom next and she was surprised she had not noticed it last night,maybe her tiredness wasn't making her brain function well
then,the bathroom looked like it came out of a magazine or something. She went out to the patio and her heart skipped a beat,the one word for what she saw was breathtaking. You could see the ocean,she never knew looking at water can make you catch your feelings but damn,she wondered why in Nigeria people don't really build houses close to the water side,maybe because of
superstition or something, you could also see Robben Islands. She knew from what she had read that she was minutes away from places like Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, two oceans aquarium and even the historical Cape Town stadium which hosted the 2010 world cup. She needed to visit all these places. She left her apartment after freshen up and headed for the spa,the
Lord knows she needed the pampering. Hours later and she was feeling like a child and was well relaxed. The hotel had a restaurant so she ate a light lunch by the pool.

She went back to her apartment to change clothes and pick a hat and a camera and off she went sight seeing and shopping. It was evening and she was returning back when a car speed past her driving through a puddle and splashing her. She was soaked from head to toe and even the bags she carried had water on them,she stood there like a statue and just as she was about to start raining curses on the driver,the car reversed back and slowed down beside her,the passenger side window wound down and the driver leaned towards her

"Am sorry madam,please if its okay with you get in so I can take you to your destination, am so sorry" he said.
She wanted to tell him what she thought of him and walked away but she knew that would be foolish not only would she expose herself and her health,people might think she was mad or something. She opened the door and got in,facing him she said "thank you" and turned to look out the window.
She gave him directions and he dropped her in front to the building she thanked him and got out as he apologized once again. She went to her to suite to freshen and change her soaked dress. She arranged everything she bought and then went online to book a cape peninsula tour. She went down to the restaurant for dinner and went back to her room to read some novels she bought at the airport and then she slept.

She woke up every early the next morning and got ready. She was putting on jeans and boats with a tank top tho she wore a long sleeves denim jacket on it that she left unbuttoned. She was wearing the jacket to be
fashionable rather it was to cover up her wrist. She took a pair of sunglasses, her carry-on bag that had her wallet,camera,toiletries and a spare long dress in case someone decides to drench her again. She walked
out and stood in front of the building and at 8:30am the tour guide arrived, a local and her name was Sheila. They were two college students who were also staying at the hotel and had booked the tour so they all went
together. Sheila was brilliant, full of knowledge and her timing was spot on,she made sure they arrived before the crowds.


Our first stop was the fishing village of Hout Bay and a boat ride out to Seal Island then to the Cape of Good Hope and later to the Cape Point Nature Reserve then off to boulders beach for lunch at a lovely restaurant, also at boulders beach we saw the African Penguins and then we took the funicular to the old Cape Point lighthouse to see the meeting of the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans,from there we drove round the coast
while she pointed out places and we took lots of pictures,we later stopped by a beach where they were surfers,the European students didn't seem as spell bound as I was,I mean I only saw surfers on TV and seeing them with my own two eyes was a new experience, we headed over to the botanic garden
and later dropped back at the hotel. It was a fun filled experience and our guide Sheila had a huge role to play in that,dear Sheila I hope God bless your kind heart everyday,Adanna prayed in her mind. She bade the students goodbye and was headed back to her room when something collided with her,she was about falling down when a pair of strong arms grabbed her "you
need to watch where you are going to" she heard,she turned towards the voice and her eyes locked with the same stranger who decided to bath her yesterday, she quickly stepped aside,hissed and walked away. She ran all the curses in her head on him as she went to her room,stupid arrogant fool,he is lucky she was in a very good mood if not she would have shown him the other side of her that he sure will not enjoy. She reached the door to her apartment and as she searched through her bag for her keys she heard the same annoying voice again

"Look,I know this must now be a cliché coming from me but am sorry for what happened in the hallway and for also sounding rude" he said standing directly behind her.
She turned around and faced him "you are so arrogant and full of yourself plus you are so rude,you disgust me" she replied

"Geez woman,you were also rude to me remember? Am trying to be the bigger person here,I did not come to trade insults just to apologized which I seem to do a lot with you. Let's start over,Hi my name is Thomas" he said and stretched his hand forward. She stared at his hands turned around open her door walked in and bang the door at his face. She did not move rather she leaned against the door and placing her ears,tried to hear what he will do next,he stood at her door for a while then he laughed and walked away she still had her ears glued to the door as his footsteps faded away. She
remained there for a while just to be sure he was truly gone,when she got tired of standing she went to her room and tossing her bag on the bed she removed her clothes and headed for the bathroom and as she was about to turn on the shower she heard a gentle knock on her door .

"You don't give up,do you?" She said to herself, she got out of the bathroom and tied a bathrobe around herself and moved towards the door "What do you want?" She asked

"Am from the restaurant madam,I brought your meal" a strange voice replied.

She quickly opened the door to face a young man with a serving cart dressed like a chef "you must have the wrong room,I did not order for anything" she said

"Ma,your boyfriend paid and asked for us to send this meal up with these flowers" the young man replied,lifting up the flowers for her to see

Crossing her arms she said "you don't say,so this my boyfriend does he have a name?"

The young man had a look on his face as if she was crazy or something, he replied slowly this time as if that would make her understand him better "Ma,he only signed this card here as Thomas"

Seeing how she was putting the young man unease,she told to take the food inside and she collected the flowers from him and stepped aside while he set to work moving the cart inside, once he was through the young man practically leaped out of her room like he was scarred to spend another minute with her. Whatever she thought as he dashed out,she kept the flowers in a vase and walked over to the food,she lifted the domes covering the food and the aroma immediately made her realized how hungry she was,she might be angry at who sent the food but seeing the meal even hatred wouldn't stop her from eating,at that moment she realized he even sent a bottle of wine that was chilling in a bucket ,she needed no other encouragement.
