Chapter 20


Adanna has been working on her blog for a while now.She focused on positive things only,she rarely did celebrity gossip unless it was something she could use to empower a young person out there. Little by little her blog started getting popular online,there were no adverts yet but her views kept increasing daily and her comments section were always interactive. It was from the interactions on her comments section that made
her decided to let her readers send in their own stories on how they overcame an obstacle in their life so she could post on her blog.

Her life had definitely turned around for the best,she was currently content with herself,tho she felt a pang of guilt for being a cheat once in a while.

Adams has been sweet so far and all she could think about was why hadn't she met him before Samuel,her life would not have been this complicated now. She was going through her mails when she saw a reply to her request.

Hi Adanna,
I saw your post asking your readers to send in mails about challenges they have been able to overcome so I decided to share mine.

Am 37 years old and always thought when I was younger that I will become doctor but that couldn't be possible because I come from a poor background
and my family could not afford to pay my fees through medical school,since that dream fail,I stopped dreaming. I just said to me myself that I will
let life lead me by itself and that was how I got admission into the university and when to read religion and philosophy ( something I had no interest in ) and before you could say jack I was through with school and I did my NYSC almost immediately. It was after I was through with my service year that it dawned on me that I had no plans for my life,when I wanted to make something out of myself,love found me and in a blink of an eye I was married and now a mother of three but I always felt empty inside. I started reading motivational books and it started making me want to dream again. I thought about my life and really examined it and then I realized that I had not wanted to be a medical doctor because I liked the profession but rather because I wanted to help people and it was then I decided since helping people was what I wanted to do then I will give it a try. I quit my job (I was an assistant in an office) , it wasn't easy because my husband did not understand why I did that and it brought a lot of issues but we both were able to settle our differences and he agreed to stand behind in whatever thing I choose to do. I did a lot of thinking and praying before I settled on what I wanted to do. I ended up opening an orphanage home,I go to villages with crisis and bring the children and treat those that needed medical attention. I did not really have much money except my savings and that was what I used to start.
Little by little word started to go around about my shelter and visitors started to come visit. Its been 6
months since I started and am telling you,I have never felt more alive than now,just the knowledge that am making a difference in this little kids life makes me sleep soundly at night. We currently have 50 children and while we still have some challenges especially financial kind, I still give it my best. Most of the kids couldn't speak English before they came but right
now its a different story,am currently trying to strike a deal with a school so they can continues their education.
I hope my story can help someone out there realize that its never to late to start to achieve your dreams.

Adanna had tears in her eyes when she was through reading the mail and scrolling down she saw pictures the lady attached to the mail, she saw pictures of
lovely children and some of certificates about the orphanage, she quickly replied the woman and thanked her and also to ask for her account number so she could assist. She quickly updated the lady's mail to her blog and shutdown her laptop. She started thinking about her life and all the things she thought she would have achieved at her current age but had not due to one
excuse or another.


Samuel seated in his office trying to work on the piling files on his desk but to no avail. He kept thinking about the bombshell Kylie dropped some days ago,he kept wondering what he will do. He contemplated telling
Adanna but he couldn't bring himself down to do it,he might not love her like the way he once did but she is the kind of woman he liked being married to,she was cool and knew how to follow orders. Whatever he told he
was what she did. He did not want children now and she has been using contraceptives and in the few cases when the pills didn't work she had followed his advice to have an abortion.

She might be a boring woman but she was beautiful and she never nagged or quarrelled and he sure enjoys the stares he go from other men when even he brought her with him to an occasion. No,he can't just let her go he needs to think of plan and he needs to do that soonest before Kylie does something unpredictable and he will loose on both ends. Maybe he should just get Adanna pregnant too,I mean if she had a child of her own she would mind him having a second wife
but then again he doesn't know how long it will take her to conceive.

Many men are married to two women these days so he wouldn't be the first,maybe he should just marry Kylie as a secret wife and then tell Adanna after everything has been concluded, that way she will have no choice that to
remain his wife, yes that is what he will do. He thought as he smiled to himself and tried once again to work on the files in front of him.


Kylie was eating home made doughnut and watching a movie on the television when her door bell rang. She wondered who could be the person since she wasn't expecting anyone,she was shocked to see Samuel outside since he had not made any attempt to contact her since that day he stomped out of her house.

What do you want? " she asked

"Hi babe" he replied as he tried to kiss but she she took some steps back

"OK fine,why don't you just lemme in and hear me out first"

She starred at him for a while and then she made room for him to enter.
When he was seated she offered him a drink but he refused insisting he just came to talk.

"So Kylie here is the thing, I was thinking you and I should get married before the baby comes"

"Hmmm OK, then what are you going to do with that woman in your house? "

"Nothing she is going to remain there"

"Oh my goodness,do I look like second wife material to you?"

"Am not saying that am I? "

"No,you don't need to say it. Your actions already show it"

"See am trying my best here,this was not what I bargained for an just trying to make lemonade with the lemon giving to me period"

"So lemme see this,I get married to you,where will I stay? Or am I going to share the same house with your wife"

"I didn't think it through but am sure when we get to that road we will cross it, see Kylie you just have to understand with me okay"

"Understand what exactly that you want to make me a laughing stock or what?"

"If I divorce my wife to marry you then you will become the latest gossip and home wrecker,why don't we get married first and then we can talk about me divorcing her,how bout that plus that will even reduce suspicion from your side"

"So long as you divorce her then am okay"

"I hear you loud and clear bae" he replied as he walked towards her to give her a kiss.

Chapter 21


Kylie stylishly strolled into Stories,the leading nightclub where anybody who was anybody came to party. She was putting on tight skinny jeans,a
Black Pyramid tee shirt and a Dior jacket on top to cover her baby bump with Stilettos to give her a relaxed yet classic appeal. She was hanging out with some girls she had known since her university days but wasn't
really friends with. They hung out together once a while trying to out stage one another or trying to show who was richer and her more going on in her life. She walked into the VIP section and spotted them sitting by the
left hand side. She know they were sitting there so that anyone who walks into the area will see them balling and notice them.

"Hi girls" she said as hugged and exchanged pleasantries with them.

"Kylie its really been a while" said Essie. While she didn't really like the other girls,it was Essie she disliked the most,because she was always trying to compete with Kylie even tho she knew Kylie was the queen of the
group.

"Yes dear,work just won't let me have a social life" she replied putting emphasis on work so Essie will know she had something going on in her life.

"Oh that's good for you,my boyfriend who is an oil worker won't let me get a job,he said since his salary can feed a whole state I should just chill and spoil myself with his money and I tell you my friends that's all I
do,jet set from one place to another" she said to loud cheers from the girls except Kylie

"Go girl you rock but my boo just got me the latest model of Range Rover as a birthday gift" came another girl from the group amidst loud cheers for her

"Geez,where are our manners ? Kylie what do you want to drink? You can pop anything the bill is on me" said Essie

"Okay,I will just orange juice" she replied

"Orange what? Girl go ahead and order something worth calling the bartender for" said another girl from the group

"No really Orange juice is fine for me" she insisted

"Damn but Kylie no one I know drinks hard like you,is there anything we should be worried about? Really you can tell,after all what are friends for? Essie said while all the girls exchanged glances at each other

" Well since you guys insist on knowing, I am pregnant, my fiance and I are keeping it on a DL for now because we want a perfect fairy tale wedding, we are still trying to decide whether to have the wedding while am pregnant or after I put to birth" she said and the girls screamed out with excitement while some offering congratulations pretending to be happy for her. She
glanced and saw that Essie was speechless and looking close to having an outburst, she smiled to herself saying in her mind checkmate

"Wait oo,congrats Kylie but what does DL means" said Sarah the richest yet dumbest girl in the group

"It means Down Low slowpoke" replied Essie harshly

"Geez Es,you don't have to be rude" interfered Kylie

"Sorry Sarah but Kylie how come none of us have ever met your boo,I mean you have never spoken about him nor introduced him to any if us,right girls"
Essie countered while looking at the other girls to back her up

"Well that's because I wanted to keep it private but you guys will get to meet him soon. He is a senior executive in one if the country's leading consulting firm,he lives in banana island, as a matter if fact that's how we met cos I decorated his place for him. Gosh he is so handsome and caring and doesn't have a kid" she said while looking at Essie who everyone in the group knew her boyfriend has children from multiple women. Before she could reply Kylie's remark the bartender came with a bottle of expensive wine and told them it was courtesy of the guys sitting at the other end of the room.
The ladies except Kylie who excused herself to go home early claiming fatigue, quickly drank the wine and went over to thank the guys and later joined them on the dancefloor.




Samuel has been in turmoil for the last three months since he discovered he will soon be a father and he agreed to divorce Adanna. Things has not just
been easy with Kylie disturbing while Adanna kept ignoring him and he couldn't even find a reason to give as to why he wanted a divorce. His life outside the office has become a mess,he kept wondering how it when wrong for him. Well at least he is going to try to get ahead of things,he had earlier made an appointment with a divorce attorney to discuss about his finances and how it will affected if decided to go through with the
divorce,things like this made him regret why he had insisted on also having a court marriage, back then he had done it so he could control his wife and threaten with divorce at any provocation but now it seems like his joke is now coming to bite him in his butt.

LikeAdanna.com was finally getting the recognition it deserved. When Adanna started lit all she wanted was a positive and also empowering website that could relate with people's day to day activities and that aim was not only being achieved but it was also helping her become a better person. Through her numerous mails and stories and chats with people she has come to
realise she suffers from low self esteem and she has been gradually healing forr these past three months. She has been following steps and also trying to make everything about her positive so no negative thing can drag her back to the pit of low self esteem.

Her blog was the trending thing at the moment due to the fact that last night a guest on one of the country's leading late night talk show had quoted something she posted and also her blog's domain and today she
received an email from the talk show host to schedule a suitable day for her to be on the programme after much shuffling between them they had decided that the third Saturday of next month will be perfect because guests for the entire month had already be planned and scheduled and it was also good for her since her main target audience the youths can easily be reached and also she can also get the audience of older persons since the programme comes on immediately after the evening news.

With that settled, she quickly checked through her mails for new stories also to reply does that needed to be replied. Once she was through with that she logged on to her website and started posting the things she had
for the day and also went through her comments section and anyone whose comment was insulting or abusive she deleted the comments and in cases where the person threatens anyone she blocks the person from being able to comment on her blog in the future. When she was through with that she surfed the net looking for past video clips of the host interviewing his guest so she could have an idea of what to expect and what not to do when she finally gets to be on air, since it was a live broadcast, she did not want to be found wanting in any way.

After watching some clips,she decided to start making research on what she was going to say on that day. She was so engrossed in her work that she didn't hear footsteps behind her until she felt someone kissing her in her neck and holding her on her waist. It was
quite enchanting,she didn't want it to end and at such didn't turn back but that was quickly shattered when she heard her husband's horn outside the gate trying to come in,wait a minute if her husband was outside then who was nuzzling her neck,she turned around to see Adams. She wanted to scold but her to keep calm because she could hear her husband's footsteps
approaching and they had to be on their best behaviours, she instructed Adams to seat on the couch which he did and soon after the door was opened
and her husband stepped in.

"Hello honey,welcome home,I hope work treated my baby fine today?" she said as she walked up to him to collect his suitcase which he declined and also
to share a quick kiss with him that made Adams to cringe

"Yes bae am fine and work was okay" he said returning her kiss and when he saw Adams he waved at him and quickly walked upstairs to freshen up. As soon as he was gone Adanna turned to look at Adams with an angry stare

"What is wrong with you and what are you doing in my house for goodness what if my husband had found us in a compromising state huh?"

"Look Ad am sorry,I have not seen you in a while and whenever I call you are always too busy to have my time so I decided to come see you"

"And you had to come to my husband's house right?"

"Woman please,you and I know we have done a lot of freaking things in your husband's so called house I wonder why you are trying to pick an offense
now"

"You know just leave my house right now"

"See I came here to talk to you can we at least have a little talk, please just five minutes"

No,I have nothing to say to you please go before Ad am sorry,I have not seen you in a while and whenever I call you
are always too busy to have my time so I decided to come see you"

"And you had to come to my husband's house right?"

Fine,if that's what you want,just know am not contacting you again and just incase you want to talk you know where to find me" he said as he walked out
of the house.

Adanna was stunned by his behaviour, true she as been avoiding but that was only because she has been trying to find herself and to also know what
she really wanted. She was beyond angry,here she was trying to make things work and all he could do was get angry,doesn't he know that a little distance would help their relationship. Her thoughts was abruptly shattered when Samuel came downstairs and she had to serve him his food,he asked about Adams but she had to lie that he left because he only came to borrow
a frying pan from her.

Kylie is having lunch with her sister Susan and they were talking about their various jobs and all the hassle that comes with it. Susan was the only sibling she had and at such they were very close. They always shared their secrets with each until Kylie started seeing Samuel, she knew her sister will oppose to her seeing a married man so she had kept the relationship to herself but now that it was very serious and with the pregnancy she wanted to fill her sister in on everything before approaching
her parents so they can start the necessary arrangements. She had no idea how her sister will take the news so she decided to invite her to a public
place because the sister will be composed and they can have a reasonable talk like grown ups

"Susan am pregnant"

"Wow congrats,how far along are you? Hope you know if its a girl you name her after me right?"

"The baby's father wants us to get married" she said ignoring her sister's question

"Well that's good and also the right thing to do except you don't want to marry him?"

"I want to marry him,the problem is that he is married, tho he said he will divorce his wife for me,he seems to be taking long and soon I won't be able to keep my pregnancy a secret"

"Have you thought about Hus wife's feelings at all ?"

"Susan you don't get Samuel and I are in love"

"It doesn't matter,you don't have any right to break up any marriage, if the man no longer wanted his wife,he should have divorced her before having an affair with you,for goodness sake you don't have to a home wrecker"

"Look Susan, I did not come for your insults,I only came to tell you about what is going on with my life at the moment and also so that you won't be in the dark when I approach mum and dad about the matter"

"Am disappointed in you little sister,it's such a shame,am even disgusted at you, home wrecker"

"Call me that again and there will throw us out of this restaurant for fighting"

"Home wrecker" she said as she stood up took her things and left in anger.

Kylie watched her sister walk away in disbelief, she knew the sister will not understand reasons with her but she sure as hell had not expected their conversation to take such a turn. Wiping away the tears that had formed in her eyes,she paid the bill and left the restaurant.

Susan could not believe what she just heard from her sister,she had stopped being surprised at the kind of things Kylie was capable of but this was just too much, she thought as she was driving her way through the Lagos traffic to go home. Her conversation with her sister just reminded her of years ago when she was married, she thought she had a perfect marriage until her husband of three years dumped her to marry her best friend ,she had felt betrayed and as if her world was coming to an end,she had contemplated suicide at that dark moment of her life but eventually did not go through with it.

She had lost the will power to go on with her life and
at such relied on drugs and other harmful substances to keep her pushing and it was by intervention from loved ones and also when she seemed professional help that she was able to be continue living and coping with
whatever life throws at her. It was in rehab that she had met Adams,tho as of that he was not as reformed like now, then he was a junkie like her who was forced there because his parents thought he substance abuse problem was getting too much. He was jerk back then and never missed the slightest opportunity to tell you how his father was one of the richest men in Nigeria and also amongst the top ten richest in Africa. It was after an argument between the two of them that they became friends tho at first he wanted a relationship with her but she was still heart broken from her failed marriage and such they became great friends and once she discovered his talent for art, she told him about her desire to one day own a big gallery and also to be one of the most notable art dealers in the world,they decided to embark on a partnership whereby he painted and she
did all his dealings for him.

Tho it was not easy at first but with hard work from both their angles they have finally become a Hugh success,it was still a long way to go before Adams could become a distinguished artist but right now his art was going places and his name was also becoming more
popular with each day that went by.

Her mind drifted back to her sister and all she could think about is how hurt who ever the woman whose marriage is about to be crashed by her sister will be. She only hoped and prayed the woman could survive it like she did.There was a pang of pain she felt in her heart just knowing about the pain her sister is about to cause to an innocent lady. She had to drag herself from her thoughts as she decided to focus all attention to her driving.

Hi guys,sorry for not updating for a longtime. A lot of things caused it. First there is school stress with loads of assignments, presentations and productions. Also last week I was very sick so I couldn't uphold my promise to update last Wednesday and rest of the weeks. I just finished my drugs yesterday.
I will try to update as much as I can but once exams start which is coming up very soon I will post only on the weekends. Thanks a lot for being patient with my annoying self lol. I will try to update regularly. xo

Chapter 22

Adanna walked nervously into the TV station,she kept praying in her mind that all goes well and that this interview will help boost the traffic on
her blog. She hastened her steps as she saw all lady who was waving at her to come over and who she later discovered was the production staff. After exchanging pleasantries with each other she was led to room backstage and soon after a makeup artist came along. While she was having her makeup done,she was also being briefed about what to expect in the interview and
also the sitting arrangements plus camera angles. After a while,the talk show's host walked in and smiling at her he said

"Hi,am Tony Shogo ,its really nice seeing you in person,and I hope you have been treated well since you arrived?"

"Yes,your staff has been wonderful to me" she replied

"Okay then,I guess I will see you in half an hour when the show starts. So just relax yourself and enjoy the comfort the station has offered" he said as he gave her a slight nod and left the room.




"Hello ladies and gentlemen you are welcome to yet another exciting episode of the Tony's show. Today promises to be a blast with all the latest celebrity gossip that happened all thorough the week and also we have with us in the studio today the brain behind one of fastest growing websites in Nigeria, you know her blog as like Adanna dot com but today you get to me
Adanna herself please stay while we go for a quick commercial break"


With her heart pounding, Adanna sat backstage listening to Tony and also waiting for when it will be time for her interview.



"At this junction my audience,its time to bring out our guest for tonight who no other but the beautiful and talented Adanna Kombol ,do give her a round of applause"

With shaking legs and with each step that seem to be her last,she walked out on stage,weaved at the audience and sat down beside Tony.

"Good evening and welcome to the Tony's show,you look incredible"

"Thank you"

"Okay,so the whole world knows you as Adanna the blogger and I know there is more to you than that so tell us a little about Adanna the lady?"

"Okay, well am Adanna Kombol ,am married and have been for two years now,tho next month will make it three. I am a graduate and errm I like to
cook and I like listening to music"

"Wow,okay so who is your favourite musician?"

"Chris Brown"

"Yeah we probably know that he is always in the top five spot whenever you update your playlist for your favourite songs of the week. Alright moving
on, what inspired you to start your blog?"

'Well,a lot of factors led to it,like I was going through a lot of challenges in my life at that particular time and I needed an outlet to just let it all out and also to connect with people who were probably going through the same thing or those that have been able to overcome such
obstacles in life. Also I had reached a point where I had a lot of negativity surrounding me and I just need a more positive vibe you know,like I just want to be genuinely happy,I mean like just get that internal peace and all"

"Wow,that's interesting to know, so tell is there anything you fear in life?

" failure,like am so scared of it sometimes am afraid of doing or starting something tho am working on it,am hoping that in a short while I will be able to over come such fear".

"Okay,one last question before we round this up, what is your advice to people out there especially young people who are trying to start something up?"

"My advice to people is to first of all find their purpose in life. I mean once you know your purpose then you can navigate through it and then excel in life. Have it in mind that it will be best to draw closer to God if you
are a Christian or Allah if you are a Muslim, that is try to seek spiritual help when trying to find your purpose in life because once you find your purpose every other thing will just flow. Thank you"

After the show,she went backstage and took pictures with fans. When she was through she headed to the dressing room to get her things and when she
walked in she noticed a bouquet of flowers with a note from Adams congratulating her on the success of her interview,she felt tears threatening to pour but she was so happy within just knowing that he had not forgotten about it and also that fact that he was the first person who even congratulated her really touched her heart. He had not used the fact that they were not on speaking terms ever since that prank he pulled at her house some weeks back as an excuse just made her feel like she has been wrong for keeping him at arm's length. The fact that even her husband who she was trying desperately to save their marriage had not even remembered
about the interview but then again he seem to be forgetting a lot of things this past few weeks,he looks troubled but whenever she asked him about it,he always replied that he was fine and that everything was okay.




Adams sat in his hotel room contemplating whether to call Adanna or not,he had watched her interview earlier and wanted to commend her for how good
she looked and how she answered the questions thrown at her but he couldn't just go through with the call. He wondered if she had seen the flowers he sent,maybe they arrived too late and she did not get them because she had not try to reach out to him. He decided to give it a few hours,maybe he will call her later in the evening.

"Hey babe am home" Samuel said as he walked into the kitchen where Adanna was by the sink cleaning up.

"Welcome back dear,hope you had a nice day in the office today?"

"I sure did and everyone kept complementing me about my intelligent and extremely beautiful wife, congrats on your bae" he said as he wrapped his hands around her waist from behind.

"Why don't you just leave what you are doing right now and go upstairs and freshen up,I need to take my intelligent wife out for a treat to night" he whispered into her ears.

"Am almost through just give me five minute top,lemme just wipe everything clean" she replied

"Okay then you have five minutes and nothing more" giving her peck he walked out of the kitchen.





Samuel and Adanna walked into Stories hand in hand and proceeded to the VIP area and as soon as they had settled down and placed their order Samuel's
phone rang. He checked the caller ID and seeing it was Kylie who was calling he decided to ignore the call. When Adanna asked why,he said it was work and since the night was about her he wouldn't like anything to
distract them. Soon their drinks arrived and they were discussing and having fun,something they had not done in a long time. They went dancing for a while and soon returned their seat and continued with their little
celebration when a lady walked up to them.

"Hi,sorry to bother you guys but am such a huge fan of your blog and seeing you on TV today really inspired me"

"Oh my,thanks a lot"

"My name is Essie and for real consider me your biggest fan"

"Thank you Essie,well this is my husband Samuel"

"Nice to meet you Mr Samuel, you really married a rare gem"

"I know right thank you,why don't you join us, we are celebrating her success"

"I will love to but I came with my man and he will soon start missing me but if it is okay with you guys I will like to take a picture"

"Sure why not" replied Samuel as she joined them and then took a selfie with both of them.

"Thanks a lot for the picture" she said as she walked away

"I guess you are now a certified celebrity now huh?" Samuel teased his wife

"Sure,very soon I will start signing autographs" she replied as they both burst into laughter.
