Story is looooonng!

Client's wife was preg, went to have the babybin US. Met brick walls, client had returned to 9ja. Wifey was stranded and had preg complications, coupled with having the other kids with her. I was called upon for 1 mission, help her when she went to have the baby to assist with the other kids and bring them all home safely.

Now you get the drift. It had never been my call from the get go. They had their plans, which i had to work with, which wasn't foolproof. I eventually had to manage expectations.

At the end, all is well that ends well.
Wow!..... you should've said this from jump so we won't get the impression that you're a poor planner and don't know what you're about. Now the whole thing makes sense.. basically you went as a nanny. Hmmm.... now I wonder which was worse.... staying in the South Side or staying with the family... abeg... don't answer this one!

Lol, I will answer o!

I got fed up at a point especially with their plans, but I had a goal, and I'm glad I achieved it. The story is long, I don't think I will be going on these tasks personally henceforth so I can focus on tourism and corporate travels and outsource these duties. Still doing the paperwork though.

I hope client's wife achieved her goal of having her baby there.Hmmm she should have done proper consultation before heading there, quite risky well it opens a new vista of opportunity for you.[/qulote]

Oh yes she did. We thank God cos she had some complications she wasn't aware of and the moment we stepped into the Hosp, she was admitted and induced.

Mr Originalsly . well noted. I will keep you in the loop for my next tour in April 2017. My husband is working on his visa so the next tour (not babysitting clients) will be open for both sexes and families. Just keep your calendar open.

$54 dollars, yellow taxi to JFK is a flat rate.

If I were you, I'd take the NYC airporter (airport shuttle) to Penn station for about $18 to catch the Amtrak. Try to book online in advance. In my case I paid $371 for 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 infants so I'm thinking it should be around $70+ but then, I booked the night before the trip so you may get it cheaper if you book earlier.
Safe trip and happy travels

Ok, so I feel I would be in a good position to compare life in Nigeria vrs Life in America, having experienced the best of both worlds.

Life in Nigeria is haaaaarrrrrdddd! In a few words here is our reality
1. We generate our own electricity, Generators are our main source of electricity, the main grid is back up, if you even get it
2. We pump our own water, most times it is not pure. We have adapted to using impure water to cook and bath, to drink, we drink pure water. We trust others to purify water, package them in sachets and sell to us for $0.001. Hopefully, it is pure enough
3. We provide security for ourselves. In communities, we contribute money to pay vigilante to protect us while we sleep
4. Healthcare does not exist. Right now, the federal govt has not paid doctors in 3 months and they have been on strike. If you are gravely ill, you can only turn to your pastor for a miracle
ok . I can uderstand all these but just as lagos has been built up so 2 can the rest of yer country.

Point:4 healthcare in America is not guaranteed
Nor is it free the goverment healthcare few poor people qualify for is paid for by thier own taxes

We pay into this from the day we begin working intil the day we retire but are not guaranteed coverage

Point:3 can 2 explain this futhur?
Protect u from what?

Point:2 The nigerian goverment needs 2 deal with this pure water is 1 of the easier things to provide a people who pay taxes for it

Here we pay a month water bill and a taxes 2 make the water pure

Point:1 yes i heard of the electric issues u face
And i couldnt deal with that cry

I have aquestion: why isnt the power supply stable in Nigeria?

5. Education is a big joke. If you want your kids to be properly educated, they have to attend private schools which are ridiculously expensive

6. There are no jobs. The universities churn our more graduates every year, of which only 1% just may be able to manage to land good jobs with their connections. Like, the only way you can survive is to be creative. Creatively beg, steal or start a business and pray for God to pick up your call

7. Our roads are death traps. When I travel abroad, I confidently go on road trips. In Nigeria, I fast and pray before I travel. If you follow Nairaland, you will see episodes and episodes of avoidable road mishaps if only our roads were any better. Even if the govt gives out contracts to fix these roads, nothing is done. God help you when it rains

8. Our leaders are the worst scums in the universe.

9. The police is your enemy. Extra judicial killing is their specialization. You can get killed by the police for refusing to part with $0.50 cents. You can get arrested just because the policemen are broke and bored and you will need to pay to bail yourself. Those who have no one to bail them may remain in jail for years without trials, as in forgotten

We also pay taxes, if the taxes we pay is channeled to having a system that works. How can doctors not be paid their wages? This is unheard of in USA. I had a baby in the USA. I paid cash, and you know why I ran to USA to have a baby? I had twins born at 7 months in Nigeria that died at birth because the govt hospitals were on strike and the private hospital where I had my babies has only 1 oxygen tank which was in use. So the babies were oxygen starved and allowed to die like they didnt matter. I am a victim of a failed healthcare system, and guess what 1 in 10 Nigerian women have a story. We have one of the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the world.

Armed robbers, kidnappers, assassins, hungry boys who have no choice but to steal from you just so they can eat. The police is a big joke. They most definitely will not come if you call them until after the coast is clear.

And if the robbers are ever caught, they are released because they have insiders who make sure the cases never go to court. Even if the case goes to court, the judges are so marvellously corrupt, the case may never be heard. Welcome to our jungle

And America's 2 cry out for work

My sister...I have no idea.

I guess its corruption.

There is a cabal that controls the sector, and they specialize in the importation of generators and petrol/diesel. If power is stable, we wont need to buy generators and the demand for petrol will reduce. So to keep up the demand, they ensure power is unstable and we dont have a choice but to buy these things.

In 2012, we had a minister of power who attempted to stabilize power, he was succeeding and guess what? he was frustrated out of the place and we never heard from him again. Bart Nnaji was his name

Americans pay taxes to supplement the earnings from Natural resources. Nigeria makes a lot of money from sales of crude oil, there is actually a budget for these road but it is all embezzled.

If our leaders were in america, they would embezzle the taxes used to create these roads and tollways. What the heck they are unncessary arent they? grin grin grin

Nigerians shouldnt be this poor. The country is so rich, I cant comprehend how a group of people will just decide to hold 160m million people ransom. And we have been so bent and beaten, the best option is to run away.

And when we manage to get out of this hellhole like Franknetter did, we marvel at the level of organization America has to offer. I don't mind paying your taxes. I dont mind paying for health insurance, I dont mind the expenses, I just need a system that works

During Clinton's administration, over 20 million jobs were created, and the federal government achieved a balanced budget. But I still blame him for dismantling of the Glass-Steagal Act, which was indirectly responsible for the economic crash of 08.

As for availability of jobs, I know people who have had to work two jobs in order to pay their bills. They barely get a day off during the week, it's crazy.

America's Leaders dont have 2 embezzle money
They just tax u high and use the money as rhey see fit and its completely legal

But itz not only them but state governors who can pull for the povkets of the poor with state income taxes
Have u not heard of the Hortoblie state Califonia is in financial because of bad goverment? Who's paying 2 fix it all?
The people of califonia. And mainly the poor at that.
Thats the twisted thing with taxes the poor pay the most

Income tax Its basically a tax we pay 2 the state when they need money separte fro the taxes we pay out of our paychecks monthly.
