Thanks dear, but I was thinking of working and studying there at the same time. Am in a tight corner right now. If possibly you can be of help, please help dear.

You seem not to be getting it. If you still want to study medicine, complete it in Nigeria and then you can think about moving.

Thank you i'll book for 7th but arrive on the 9th (the flight is making two stops). The cheapest ticket I've seen so far is 700 thousand naira. I'm going to corpus Christi in texas , but i'm finding it difficult to get a flight going to corpus Christi airport, the few I've seen are abnormally expensive , I am seeing 3 million naira upwards. Is it ok If I choose houston airport as my point of entry to the us , will I have any problem at poe.
you can book to Houston. Then take a greyhound to corpus. It's a 3 hrs drive. I stay 45mins from corpus

Hi Sir/Ma,I dropped out of medical school in my third year due to financial constraint. But am planning on continuing it in the US. So,please how will it be? how do I go about it ?considering that am not financially equipped completely. Also, can I get any sponsor from individuals or organization? as reading medicine has been my dream but my financial challenge is really handicapping me. I have my transcript. Thanks, for everything.

Chairman your medical school challenge is not the problem. Your thinking pattern is the problem. Firstly I asked the same question on this thread like 5yrs back and I was told the hard truth.
If you really want to study medicine in US then you must first build a financial plan of surviving in Nigeria first. Complete your studies here in a related course even a HND from a small school would fly.

Understand how a HND can get you an MSc from reading this thread. Get a job in US after saving enough then you start aiming for your real dream.

Pray hard. Read hard. Plan Hard.

what is the essence of going backward when you can go forward, while not sit for your GRE and TOEFL and make sure you score high so you can get at least a good funding for masters. beside who said undergraduate is cheap or are you looking for an escape route. How will you even answer the VO when he or she ask you what you have been doing since 2007 with your o'level result

thanks bro,
not that i cant sit for the GRE or TOEFL or that i dont believe i can attain a high score, but i am only considering the financial aspect, as an average student i need to do some tutorials b4 i sit for the exam ,and it might not come cheap, i was only considering the undergraduate option because of the finance. the o'level issue is just what am worried about.
thanks for your reponse bro, compliments

I still believe u can pass the GRE and TOEFL I use to run from u.s admission stuff because of those two exams, in fact before now I was thinking of Germany or Italy since exam is usually not required by some of the schools there. but my elder bro in u.s had to force me and change my awkward thinking about u.s schools. I wrote my GRE around November and I had 319 with just one month preparation mind you I was really depressed by then because i lost my job during the period, I later sat for my TOEFL in december and I scored 96 it will will interest you to know I was even going to work from 7a.m and I get home sometimes 9 or 10pm hence I really didn't prepare for the TOEFL.
in summary the exam is not as difficult as you think, just try and download some materials online like the kaplan and magoosh text books, watch notefull videos on YouTube, you can also download magoosh videos for mathematics from any good torrent site. study the materials and go write your exams, you don't need to go to any tutorial... on exam day make sure you answer all question whether you know the answer or not since there is no negative marking, with these you are sure of passing.
Apply to as much school as you can minimum of six so you can be on the safe side. back everything up with prayer and you are good to go.
compliment of the season.

If you study a course you're not passionate about and still grad with 2.1 I don't see why you're afraid of taking GRE, even those that grad with 3rd class score above average in it. Just prepare well you'll ace the damn thing.

It depends on the state where the university is located. So, for a low paying state, well, on the average, you spend on housING $250-300per person off campus with shared apartment (2 bedroom apartment may cost $500-750 depending on location)and utilities of $100,

then $420-480 on campus, utilities included.

$100-180 /month on food.

Those are the basics. You spend roughly between $500-750 monthly. ..talk of big states like dem texas, new York etc just multiply the results of low paying states by two or three. grin

Depending on the part of NY we are talking about, upstate is still affordable but in NYC, cost of living is crazy.

Hello, it depends on the school, your stipend, city and your spending habit.
With full funding here in Cookeville, TN, you can save up to $500/month if you cook. Accommodation is cheap about $300/month at most.
My school allowed us to purchase health insurance outside so I paid like $140 last semester, note this also depends on the school.
With $700/month, I am comfortable here

With just $500/mo where I studied in NM, you will be fine. You don't even need up to this every month to survive.
