zero import duty on Cement?

did I just see/read zero import duty on CEMENT in that list?

cement that as at 2014, we were approaching self sufficiency on.

then they ban 'bagged cement'?

where are those nitwits that were praising the ban on some essential pharmaceutical products?

can they please come & clear up this contradiction of their twisted logic?

or is it going to be the usual "four legs good, two legs bad... four legs good, two legs better" chant?

If you had read with an open mind, you'd have understood what was written.

It says ”For machineries and equipment used in sectors such as agriculture , cement, hospitality , power , iron and steel , solid minerals , textile and aviation , the government, according to the circular , approved a zero import duty"

Which translates to if you are importing machines that are used to make cement in Nigeria, you'd pay no import duty.

My friend where did you see zero import duty on cement? Is it a problem of comprehension or mischief? What I saw and I quote is: 'For machineries and equipment used in sectors such as agriculture , cement, hospitality , power , iron and steel , solid minerals , textile and aviation , the government, according to the circular , approved a zero import duty.'

Cement manufacturing equipment. Please read again. And ensure your sense of comprehension and reasoning is alive to pick what I highlighted below.

The circular also reinforced the ban placed on the importation of some items .

Some of them are refined vegetable oil , cocoa butter , spaghetti /noodles , fruit juice in retail packs , bagged cement, soaps and detergent

You are obviously the dull one for failing to recognize how reducing import tariffs would stimulate economic activities in the country, especially manufacturing.
That's not the problem. The problem rather is his incessant back and forth motion. The man is just not consistent.

Reduction in import duty and yet claiming buy naija to grow naija, who is fooling who?

Fake and incompetent finance minister
For every Naija product, there is a local manufacturing sector that needs to stay afloat also.

If you are not brain-dead and blind, how come you didn't see it in the write-up that they were only referring to equipment used in the cement industry and not cement itself.

How come your blind self also failed to see the 2nd to the last paragraph where the ban on bagged cement was reiterated.

Chai, hatred has made a lot of people to lose their sense of comprehension and reasoning.

hate has nothing to do with this ok.?

or what would you say about the ERISCO issue? isn't it the same machinery & equipment that the man was complaining about that some people here were asking 'who erisco help?
