New Deal – Iwobi & Moses Battling To Replace Mikel As Highest Paid Nigerian Player In Europe

The departure of John Obi Mikel from Europe to the Far East means either Alex Iwobi or Victor Moses will in the coming days become Nigeria’s highest paid footballer in Europe.

Mikel was Nigeria’s highest earning player in Europe on £80,000 a week before his move to Chinese side Tianjin Teda, leaving Moses and Iwobi with the chance to take his spot going by reports on talks about a new deal for the duo by their respective clubs.

The English Premier League duo are presently the top two high earning Nigerians in Europe, and they are both reportedly in talks with their employers over a new deal.

Iwobi is set to be rewarded with a new deal and pay package by the Gunners after becoming one of the main stay of the first team in just over a year, since his professional bow.

He currently earns £30,000 a week bur reports suggest he is about to be rewarded with double his current pay, which will take his weekly wage to £60,000 a week.

Moses has experienced an upturn in fortune at Chelsea under Antonio Conte, with the Nigerian now firmly established as a regular in the manager’s favourite 3-4-3 system.

Talks are reportedly underway for him to be rewarded with a new deal and pay away from his present £55,000 a week deal to ward off rumoured interest from Barcelona.

Immigration Deny Efe Ambrose Big Chance To Impress Celtic Coach In Dubai

Out of favour Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has missed out on a big chance to impress manager Brendan Rodgers after missing out on the team’s trip to Dubai.

Celtic are in Dubai for warm weather camping but the Nigerian was stopped from making the trip with the Scottish side due to immigration issues.

A statement on the official website revealed that the 28 year old centre back had visa issues, hence failed to make the trip with the rest of the squad to Dubai.

The Nigerian has fallen out of favour at Celtic, after a not too impressive start under Brendan Rodgers with two high profile errors in the early games of the manager’s reign.

Ambrose saw a deadline day move to Belgian side Standard Liege collapsed, and missed out on a spot in the official list of the team’s squad for this season campaign, as they expected him to move.

Linked with a host of teams during the January transfer window, he has reportedly turned down clubs interested in his services as he wants to remain in Scotland, where he is due for citizenship in July.

Rohr’s German-Nigerian Target Yet To Agree New Deal Amid Interest From Schalke 04 & Wolfsburg

German Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96 are battling to convince their hot in demand German-Nigerian forward Joel Noah Sarenren-Bazee who is on the wishlist of three Bundesliga sides in this January transfer window to sign a new deal.

Sarenren-Bazee is reportedly courting interest from Schalke 04, Wolfsburg and Borrussia Monchengladbach after a fantastic first half of the season with promotion chasing Hannover 96.

Hannover 96 are keen on tying the 20 year old to a new deal, but so far talks have failed to progress as expected and they are facing the prospect of losing the highly rated forward, who is one of the break away stars in the second division in German.

At the moment he is nursing a slight knock picked up in training, which has put a halt to talks of an extension of his current deal which has 18 months to run.

He is one of the several players on the watch list of the coach of the Nigeria senior national team Gernot Rohr, who according to exclusive reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com has already held talks with the forward over playing for Nigeria ahead of Germany.

Eupen – Why Hot In Demand Forward Onyekuru Missed Bayern Munich Friendly

An explanation as to why Henry Onyekuru didn’t play for Belgian side Eupen in their 0-5 loss to Bayern Munich has been provided by the club.

20 year old Onyekuru has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, CSKA Moscow and Hoffeinheim in this January transfer window after a whirlwind start to the season in Belgium.

The forward who has ten goals from 21 games this season has however confessed that he is hanging out for a move to English Premier League giants Arsenal missed his team friendly tie against Bayern Munich yesterday.

His absence lead to talks of an imminent departure from the team but a club source revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com that his absence has nothing to do with a move away from the club.

” He recently underwent an appendicitis operation, he is still recovering. That is why he didn’t play in yesterday’s game. He is with us and he will remain with us”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Exclusive – Egyptian Giants Al-Ahly Make Bold Bid To Snap Up Super Eagles Forward Aminu Umar From Turkish Side

Reports reaching Owngoalnigeria.com has it that Egyptian giants Al-Ahly have made a formal approach to Turkish side Osmanlispor for the services of their Nigerian forward Aminu Umar.

Umar has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League side Hull City and Russian giants CSKA Moscow with Turkish giants Besiktas also in the hunt for him according to reports.

However Al-Ahly are the first to formal approach Osmanlispor for his services according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com transfer expert Daniel Martins.

” Al Ahly have made a bid for Umar, it’s a bid in the region of what Osmanlispor are demanding, although things are stilly sketchy at the moment, there are indications that he could earn more in Egypt,” Martins told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” He (Aminu) is aware of the bid, but he is yet to respond to it. Al-Ahly are an ambitious side and if they pull this transfer through it will be a big statement of how attractive they have become”.

Fenerbahce Coach Says He Doesn’t Need Rubin Kazan Bound Emenike

Coach of Fenerbahce Dick Advocaat says he has told Nigerian forward Emmanuel Emenike to look for another club, as there is no spot for him in his squad.

Emenike according to Turkish website Fanatik is close to agreeing a loan deal to Russian side Rubin Kazan, with an option of joining the team permanently in the summer after his loan deal.

Fenerbahce are demanding 5 million euros as his permanent transfer fee while the Russian side are pushing for a fee of 2.5 million euros. The disparity in their valuation of the star is the reason why the deal is yet to be agreed.

The Nigerian has not experienced the best of time with the Turkish side since joining them three seasons ago, with two separate loan spells in the UAE and England failing to provide the desired result needed to re-ignite his poor form.

He started this season as the top striker for Fenerbahce but suffered a terrible dip in form which made him lost his spot in the team, with Dutch coach Advocaat preferring Moussa Sow and Robin Van Persie ahead of the Nigerian.

Nigeria Star Oghenekaro Etebo Watched By Premier League Giants Manchester United

Leading scouts from top European clubs were at Estádio José Alvalade on Sunday night to witness the meeting between Sporting and CD Feirense.

Representatives from Manchester United and Arsenal were at the Stadium presumably to watch Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo and the outstanding players in both teams.

Benfica, Genoa, Cologne, Eibar, Yokohama Marinos and Armenia Biefeld scouts also watched from the stands, according to supersporting.net.

On his ninth appearance in the Portuguese Primeira Liga this season, Etebo was in action for 90 minutes .

CD Feirense president Kunle Soname and Etebo’s intermediary Eddy Ogbemudia earlier informed this website that they have not been officially approached by Arsenal and Leicester City over a transfer this month.

When we are talking of Fabian, it not just about developing him. Rohr hinted that we lack quality full backs. Do you think if Rohr believed our full back roles were covered, we would have a debate on Fabian?

This reminds me of the Oliseh Argument when he said Keshi should only invite players playing in top leagues, neglecting the fact that we did not have players in top League.

We have little mediums to check our promising talents. The best we can do is select the most promising and most likely to make it to camp.

Until we can create other mediums, Rohr will take a close look at them.
For me, this issue of lack of quality full backs is over stated.
Elderson Echiejile is no slouch. You don't play for Braga, Monaco, Rennes if you're not good.
Against Algeria, we all saw how he shut down APTY Mahrez almost effortlessly.

At right back, Shehu is there. We saw him at the Olympics, I don't think I saw a better right back in that tournament.

Do you really think Fabian will get ahead Shehu or even Musa Mohammed?

Because Fabian has dual citizenship, he definitely must be good enough to get a look in.
I haven't seen you make a case for Zarahedine Bello, Lukman Zakari, Funsho Gbamgboye to come train with the Eagles.
Please discontinue this argument. Rohr have never been quoted talking about Fabian. Journalists are simply speculating Fabian could be the one Rohr is speaking of.

Abdulahi Shehu. I dnt know why that guy is being over-looked for that RB position. We saw how he faired in the Egypt clash. We saw him at the Olympics. We also saw how he played in the few minutes he replaced Omeruo against Algeria. Though he may not be the ideal RB we would be yearning for presently but IMO he is the BEST we have got now.

As for Tyrone Ebuehi let him come to camp first and prove he is better than Shehu Abdullahi and Musa Mohammed at RB same goes for Fabian.

Speaking of Fabian, Algeria invited Ismaël Bennacer to their nation cup squad.

Ismaël Bennacer is an Arsenal player but no where close to the first team.. He has had only one sub appearance in the league cup.

A good idea never really though about that particularly from an official perspective.

You want to know the cold hearted truth

Change his agent, it's obvious he is not able to cut it for him or his agent is pursuing what will benefit him and not the player.

Etebo is way too good to be playing for his current club.

It was not just one good game for Echiejile. For goodness sake he had that good game in our biggest game of 2016, against Mahrez who was one of the best players in Europe last season.

I recall before the game where Mickael2 made a sweeping statement that Goulahm was far better than anything we had. It became a paradox of some sort, when the game started and the highly rated Goulahm couldn't keep pace with Moses.
Moses steam rolled him like a tornado while Iwobi completed the insult with a rainbow flick over his head.
While all these was going down, the much maligned Echiejile kept the best player on the pitch in his back pocket.

Rohr wants competition for Echiejile, because currently, he has none in Madu. Echiejile is currently indispensable in that team, you can take to it the bank.

On Junior, I have a problem about inviting an amateur player to try out with the Super Eagles. Am sure you were one of the who couldn't make sense of Keshi inviting a home based amateur player in the twilight of his tenure. The Nigerian press and fans almost hit the streets to protest but because Fabian is an Oyibo who plays amature football in Germany, its cool to invite him. Where is the justice in that?

Claudio Reneiri should understand that Ahmed Musa is a player who gets better and improves when he plays regularly eventhough he switches off in some games which is typically of every player.

Being an intermediary is the easiest bit, it's a easier in Nigeria to get your Fifa registration as you are in Nigeria.

The real issue is NETWORK who do you know? I know many agents that have Fifa registration but are not linked up. So rely on somebody else to link them up.

Honesty and integrity are not on the menu and are rarely dished out on the table to be eaten.

Put all that aside if you have patience and take time to build your brand then you can make it and of course prayer.

Oh Please. Echiejile had a history of poor games until he lost his place in the Super Eagles. Do not try to make him the best thing since Celestine Babayaro. Props to him for the much improvement and we hope it continues.

Do not overblow it. Keep in mind, Rohr worked with Lizarazu. If he says we need reinforcements, we need reinforcement.

If the Boss says eat the fish, you eat the fish.

Me, have problem with Keshi inviting Home based. Please, I was too impressed with Benjamin Francis performance for the Super Eagles. Impressed with Solomon Kwambe's much improved performance against Italy in the Friendly.

Please, Fabian Senninger's nod has nothing to do with his dual Nationality or skin color. It has much to do with the reviews. Leon Balogun also plays as a right back. If he feels Fabian can help, I believe Rohr must look into him.

I wonder why that is so difficult to grasp.
