why don't you try the ARM money market fund. the mutual fund buys treasurebills with your money and they are currently paying 15%

I will google about it and find out more.
Is the 15% paid monthly?

For UBA, you get N7000 for every N500k fixed for 3months.

Chai...this is why people sank in MMM:..this thing na wickedness...how can you leave 500k for 3 months with a bank and get only 7k...this is nonesense.

With a good strategy the stock market is as good and safe as the Treasury bills even a bit better because with that good strategy you could earn more than what the Treasury bill pays in interest.

The catch is the higher the expected returns the higher the risk of loss and vice versa.

I just love the financial markets.grin the binary rocks too Touch/No Touch grin

If you need strategy send me a PM let's collabo

Yes, very poor but i had to do it anyway because if the money remains in my account and i make withdrawals more than 3 times in a month i'll get nothing and since i make several withdrawals every month, i had to fix the amount i had no urgent need for at the moment.

Go and do treasury bill.

Thank me later.

no it's 15% per annum. the interest is paid every 3months that is 4 times in a year. the rates can increase or decrease depending on the current t. bills rate. you have the opportunity to monitor your investment online.

Dear all,

Treasury bill is far better than fixed deposit, you can fix an amount for 91days, 180days or 365days at an annual rate of 15% to 17%.

The minimum amount required for treasury bill is 100k

T-bills 91 days current rate is 13.7999% and yes all deposits and bonds have applicable 5% VAT deductible from earnings.

So you are correct that T-bills yield more than FD however the downside is that you cannot liquidate your T-bills before expiration while you can do so for your FD but with 25% deduction from interest amount.

You can equally invest your money in real estate business, taking advantage of presents opportunities going on around Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos. Your property keep appreciating in monetary value; while your mind is at peace.

I think that is why a money market fund is cool, u can cash out anytime since your money grows everyday, the rates may not be equal to a 1yr treasury bill but for now I receive a rate of 15.5% from ARM and I make withdrawals anytime I like while my balance keeps yielding.

Well, i chose the fixed deposit of the bank because i invested sometime ago in a financial institution called Rosabon Fin. Services and got N900 for 200k after 3months. It was even poorer than that of the bank. So you see, i know what i am doing.

Not withstanding, i will try ARM treasury bills. No harm in trial

And how do you go about it? What's the process?

Just get into any bank and execute the tbills form.
It will be processed. The interest will be credited ro your acct as upfront. You will also indicate on the form of u want renewal on roll over basis. The bucket is always BTW 0-91days.
Fed gvt bonds is also good but mostly on long time basis....This certio can serve as instrument for open buy back or as collateral when borrowing from the bank.

I would rather throw the money inside River Niger than buying a land/house in Ibeju-Lekki. That's how terrible it is.

Nna, fixing money in a Nigerian bank is useless, cos you're actually losing money without realizing it.

How can a bank pay 12% per annum (and still remove vat) when our inflation rate currently stands at 19% That means you're losing money cos the little profit you make(even your capital too) actually loses it's purchasing power within the cause of the year. N30,000 for instance cannot even buy today somethings that N20,000 could buy last year. No wonder many people joined MMM and yet those satanic people used the media to destroy it.

The best investment in this country remains real estate. If that your funds can purchase even a small parcel of land, buy it and watch your investment grow at a rate of 40% to 100% per annum(depends on location) while correcting for our ever rising inflation
