I dont think there is an issue here because even after you change your name all other documents still remain valid.
I still use my maiden name on my passport not thinking of changing it anytime soon.
Go girl.

temmytee31:
Beautiful people of God. Hope we're all good today. Thanks for all the feedbacks. Quite helpful.
My passport is in my maiden name. i plan changing to marital when it expires soon. Any problem with this pls? How do i explain this to the VO why change to marital name hasnt occured Since my husband is my sponsor. I await your responses. Thanks.

Even as early as it was the whole place was filled to the bream with only one lady VO that day who bounced almost everyone. Surprisingly a security man walked up to Me and asked Us to be in line for that same woman..(oh my God not that woman biko)We had no option than to Finally stand in line with 3 men in front who eventually got denied. After which ours went thus
VO- Morning, passports please

Mum-she's my daughter
VO- Wow you look like sisters
Mum- Immediately brings out family pictures to show
VO-That's fine

Mum- To assist my daughter and cos it's her first time and the baby is my first grandchild
VO- Oh I see and where would that be

VO-How much would this cost you
Me- $12,000- 14,000
VO- Have you made contacts with a doctor and how do you intending paying for this
Me- As a self paid patient my husband and I would be paying for that
ME- Brings out doctors & Hospital correspondence of WHMC, budget sheet and bank statement( I no wan hear stories)
VO- carefully goes through it and hands them back to me
VO- And where would you be staying
ME- We have made arrangements for a paid apartment
VO- Do you have other bank statements apart from that
Me- Yes
VO- (after some moment of more vigorous typing) … all I heard was you visa has been approved and hands the white paper

I advice you look for a doctor that will give correspondence and use for the purpose of visa interview and POE.
When you get there you just waka go to the one you really want to use.

I had my baby in Oakbend and didnt take antenatal classes at d hosp but at dr. Z's clinic. I wasnt given free milk at d hosp cos i was lactating but my friend was given a pack of 6 bottles wen she was discharged and also had supplies althru her stay in d hosp. For diapers, u'll get newborn size in abundance but note dat ur baby is likely to outgrow it in 2 weeks. I also got toiletries, sanitary pads etc, in short just take ur baby's take home clothes alone, u'll get every other thing in d hosp.

I didnt pierce my baby's ear until we got to lag and paid N500 at d health center to pierce her ears at 6 weeks. If u can wait, its way cheaper to pierce d ears in Nig.
isysleek:
Did mine with my doctor's pediatrician about a week after deliver. It was $65 and the earring was like rubber.

But a friend did her baby's own at Macys and it was $60 which includes a 14k gold earring and the piercing.

Both piercings above were done in El Paso.

Get GTB naira mastercard - $100 and also collect friends nd families' GTB and Access bank naira mastercards, u'll be able to use dis cards for ur purchases at $100 limit per month. You can then source for s remaining at d black market or thru PTA, maybe stanbic bank.

Black market USD is now #500! Oh lawd, I need to start saving up cash! The thing about foreign exchange is that you can buy at #500 today and tomorrow, it will be sold at #300! Then, recurring and new expenses will not even make you have ready cash sef for your mission until you are truely ready!
Are there people who always get forex from banks, please kindly inform me the Nigerian banks that issuing ATM card that work abroad or banks selling PTA/forex?

Please has anyone opened a Bank of America account recently Or any other account in the States Dem dey ask for proof of PR before dem go open one. Pls who has any info on this?? Thanks

Go to another branch. I opened a Bank of America account about two weeks ago, both personal and company account. The first branch I went to told me they couldn't open my company account without SSN or ITIN. After chatting with their customer rep online (she assured me that I could open accounts, and I only needed ID cards for my personal account and incorporation docs for my company) I went to another branch and had no problem opening the accounts.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum but I almost read each and every part, I am a Filipino national currently residing in Dubai, I have B1/B2 visa and travelled to US in 2015, I am preggy now and I want to deliver to US and will definetly pay for all the expenses, however I am so confused and scared as I do not have any relatives in there, I will be flying to US in march and planning to deliver in Tx elpaso, hope I won't face any trouble at POE I will tell them that I will delivery my baby,,,, but I haven't send any notice to US embassy here in Dubai (Is it still necessary?) as I already travelled in 2015 as Tourist B2 which was also mentioned in the entry stamp. I really need advise to clear out my mind, as I know everyone is advising to send an email to embassy... but I still want to confirm if I really need to do that. sad sad sad TIA... smiley smiley smiley smiley

I'm not sure I have space for clothes. I meant I could help with little things that are critical like medications ( non prescription) and affidavit of consent aka form DS-3053.

I had my baby on the 27th of December at Baylor, Scott and White medical center, White Rock, Dallas

Costs were :
Hospital - $3000 (They charge $4300 for c-sections) ...paid weeks before birth
Doctor - $2500 - (He charges $3350 for c-sections) (Paid weeks before birth)
Epidural - $1000 (Paid weeks before birth)
NICS (neonatologists/pediatricians) - $555.70 (Paid over the phone by card after discharge)
Group B strep test (Labcorp) - $94
Extra bills from hospital for baby's jaundice treatment - $427 (Paid over the phone by card after treatment)
Follow up visits for baby at Irving Pediatrics - $75/visit (We went at 1 week and at 6 weeks)

Got my daughter's birth certificate the day after she was born at City Hall in Downtown Dallas. The day I had my baby, the hospital brought the birth records paperwork for me to fill out and asked me to send one of them in by post. When I saw that the address was a Dallas address, I had my husband take it there instead of posting it. I think this helped in having the birth certificate ready in only 24 hours. Even the staff there were quite surprised. Cost $23/copy

We booked an appointment for the 30th to get her passport at the regional passport office in downtown Dallas which we collected about 2 hours after we did the application. Cost $165

Left the US on Saturday, 11th February on British airways. Paid for my baby's tickets with BA miles and it cost me about 4000 miles and $88 in taxes and surcharges.

All's well that ends well. I'm willing to answer any questions anyone may have that I can help with and haven't covered here.

Most hospitals offer baby milk to mothers who prefer not to breastfeed or have initial lactating issues so i'm sure they do at Oak bend. You will get a going away kit that will include most things you need. You usually will get everything you need whilst in the hospital but once you get home, you'd have to buy more from walmart or whichever store you choose.

[please please please, can you send me a personal message on what ever info you have about birthing in Henrico doctors hospital. Hosp email/dr s name and email and accommodation provision. I presume you would have gotten answers to your questions. I'm still doing a mental survey, yet to make up my mind. Please help a sista in need. Thanks alot]

A lot of women have gone on this trip without having anybody in the US,so that shouldn't be an issue for you.
I don't think it's absolutely necessary for you to notify the embassy since you have travelled with the visa,
The important thing here is to be prepared for poe, with all the necessary documents eg Dr and hospital correspondence, evidence to show that you can pay your bills, evidence of accommodation etc

Why not try this , get correspondence from a doctor in say Houston use it to pass POE and enter the country and then proceed to Austin.
That is what I would do if I was you.

Usually they send email and ask you to book appt.
They called me sha in the middle of a strategy meeting and ruined my day! Lol! This was Jan 2016.
After weeks of deliberating, I decided to go for the interview and realised I was called because I spent 5mths in the US. If u delivered in may.. And got your visa in Sept... Were you preg during the interview? Did you declare your birthing intentions? Did you stay longer than your requested period of stay? Have you visited US again after the birthing trip?

My interview was short and straight to the point because I went with my baby and the interviewer understood that I went for childbirth on my 4th visit to the US, of which I showed all receipts.

If you have a visiting visa to US, you are expected to use it to visit first
