Now this are the same guys preaching ipob..Biafra..And so on..I have said it before till we as black men identify the fundamental problem with us..Either we have very low IQ or there's too much self hatred..We will continue to be pests to the world..Now Mbaise people will not let another Igbo man act as bishop and this is in the catholic church then imagine what will happen when we have Biafra..How will an nnewi man lead a position in ABA..It's too disheartening but as an Igbo man I refuse to support any disintegration because strong communities are built on diversity but my people are too blind to see this

That's the summary

I was expecting this from someone and you didn't dissapoint. It's funny how you guys always bring up Biafra whenever there's an issue between Igbos as if every Igbos must agree on one thing to be seen as being united. Show me anywhere in the world where there isn't some form of disagreements. Are you aware that there are non indegenes who are bishops in different parts of Igbo land. The priest of our local church in my village in Awkunanaw is from Imo state. A lot of Anambra priest are scattrered all over Igboland likewise those from imo, Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi. The anglican bishop of Enugu from a Delta Igbo man. So, i don't understand how you'll decide to use a particular event to hide your prejudice. I'm also not a supporter of Biafra, hut i'm not stupid enough to give these silly reasons that you guys always come up with to feed your obsession on how other people think life will be better for them.

It's Obohia, not Obioha. The issue has been lingering for quite a while.
The whole issue has something to do with the Ahiara Diocese where youths even locked a Reverend Father indoors while protesting with machetes.
They also got infuriated when the police arrested a number of them. All these happened last year.
I am surprised it's now affecting obohia sef

Lack of Christian virtues is at the root of it ......in Warri it is the same .....the Bishop is always a white chap because of sensitivity to clannish and tribal matters.......Don't know if they have finally accepted an indigenous Bishop, now

If igbos are rejecting one of their own and practice deep entrenched tribalism among themselves even in Catholic Church, then we binis have to protest against the continous stay of igbo man as archbishop wen we have bini priests...

Somebody from that your area can't be .....one block will reject and cause problem ...

Go and investigate that your area and find out when they ever made an indigent of the senatorial zone the archbishop

Whenever we visited the village as kids, we always found our way to Iyi Obohia.

I don't really know much about the localities but my dad's maternal home is Elekonowas. Somewhere close to Eze Obolobo and C. C. Anyanwu.

Tribalism in the church shows that the people were never penetrated by the message of the goodnews. How do you believe the gospel and still not see that in Christ there are no greeks or jews but rather a people that has been baptised into the same body of Christ. The issue of mbaise people is really one of disgrace to the entire catholic body of that diocese particularly the priest and the religious of that parish. It is so shameful that priests that took vow of obedience connived to reject a bishop appointed for them by the Holy See. Really shameful and disdainful. Are they expecting the appointment be reversed and a bad precedent set? They must be joking.

Politics in the Catholic Church is entrenched ...if people come toget as one in Christ why the division into tribal associations within the church ....you have the Urhobo catholic community , Igbo. Catholic community , hausa Catholic community and so o........Religion rather than Christianity is what the Catholic Church practices

What is politics and tell me one place where you put people together that there is no politics. Maybe you need me to show you politics even in the bible - both in the old and new testaments? You don't have to follow a bad example. Before Akabueze, there was Richard Burke from Warri(my Diocese)... Akabueze will also not stay as Archbishop of Benin forever. That's how it is.
I'm sure the Papacy will not bulge in it's choice of Bishop for Ahiara Diocese. Leave them to continue with their nonsense but don't feel Benin too should follow suit... What is bad is bad.

In as much as Mbaise people feel marginalized despite their sacrifice and contribution to growth of Catholic Church in Nigeria and the world, these politically sponsored crisis will do them no good. It only solidifies their alienation from other Igbos who already view them a type of way. My Mbaise brothers please stop allowing yourselves manipulated into what you are not thereby proving all the careless assertions about you wrong.

During the last election I predicted that Emeka Ihedioha could only win in 3 Mbaise LGAs and it ended nearly as I predicted because he belongs to that class that "Mbaisenize" issues that should have been for the entire State or Igboland.

What am trying to point out here is that the peep from across the Niger are the less accommodating Tribe in Nigeria. Even in politics they can't even accommodate their own. Few years ago, the then Government. Now Senator Theodore Orji sacked non-Abia igbos from Abia stare civil service...few igbos raised eyebrow and the matter died a natural death. Now such shameless discrimination is now rearing it's ugly head in Mother church even after the mediation of John cardinal Onaiyekan and other eminent Catholics, yes these Mbaise igbos won't bulge. It baffles me why eminent igbos have not risen to condemn this act. Even in Benin, we never wanted Akabueze because we felt a bishop ought to have been chosen from among eminent bini priests...still we allowed reason to prevail. Today an igbo man is bishop of Benin metropolitan see, but an igbo man can't be bishop of Ahiara diocese. What a shame. I guess this how Biafra will be like...infighting over leadership.

Crass ignorance presupposes that I am absolutely ignorant of what I wrote on which is far from being true since I know that tribal associations is the order of the day within the Catholic Church . ...therefore , you should stop using word and phrases for which you have only a vague idea of what it connotes.

To the point , If you want to walk in the step of Jesus Christ follow it ...did he organize or did the apostles organize tribal meetings in good news bible of the Catholic Church.......and those associations do they add to the spiritual development or growth of members? Absolutely not, for their basic existence is tied around burials. Wedding and harvest.

A bling bling PASTOR is more sincere than I crook in cassock that keeps a functionsl Peniiis under hood of cassock and sleeps with daughters and still conduct confession for them. ..Bishop........Let so callled fathers and Bishop submit to castrtion if they are serious

The muslim mor0nic zombies shouting against IPOB and Biafra. Let me ask you a salient question. If you believe Biafra shouldn't be because 'Ibos don't love themselves', why shout nigeria be when people in the nigerian space don't love themselves'.

Don't you think you sound demented by opining 'Oh... hausas don't trust yorubas, Ibos don't like hausas therefore we must stay together in one nigeria'. This morning on news indigenous Adamawa christians were crying about marginalization by muslim northerners.

So make una try dey get sense, and come together make we peaceful see how we will go our seperate ways. We no be conjoined siamese twins.

Paul's letter to the Corinth clearly stated that he was addressing young born again who are yet to be filled with the Holy Spiri.......their understanding was still of the flesh .........if I then rely on this chapter to judge the Mbaise Catholics, they are young and without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
