When people say "overspeeding is dangerous"..what exactly are they referring to?
The max have done so far is 100km/h(and i dont even stay on that for long before i press my brake jejely) and yea.you can call me a novice, im like 3 -4 months old in driving

But then i really wanna know..while im thinking the max that should be done on a free highway is 100km/h..some "expert drivers" made mockery of me saying 100km/h is too slow especially when the road is really free

So guys..From what speed on the speedometer is considered overspeeding?..because if you ask me a 3month old driver, anything on the other side of the speedometer is a no no for me(max 100km/h)

Guy if 100km is the highest speed you can control keep it up its pretty okay majority of roads accident are caused by over speed 100 km will take you from Lagos to Ibadan at least 1 hour 30mins

It depends on the situation and driving conditions. There are situations whereby 80km/hr is overspeeding and there are situations whereby 120km/hr is not overspeeding. When driving in the rain with poor visibility then even doing 70km/hr might become overspeeding. When driving on bad roads and bends, 80km/hr might become overspeeding. When driving on a busy highway like Lagos- Ibadan Expressway, 100km/hr can become overspeeding. But when driving on a very smooth highway with less vehicles like Ore-Benin highway, then even 140km/hr might not be overspeeding depending on the condition of vehicle.

In fact there are some situations where u will get a ticket for driving too slow on the left lane.

I only overspeed on freeways

If the speed limit is 70 and you're driving from California to New York which is like a 43 hour journey, there's no way on Earth you won't be tempted to overspeed or you would ignore overspeeding on a 6 lane highway in a big ass USA roads

When overspeeding, i always stay in the middle of other overspeeding drivers, the highway patrol police would go after the last set of overspeeding drivers or even the first set

Don't try this in the winter or you will find yourself in the woods or in a ditch

Depending on the road ur driving, nature of ur vehicle and other conditions, such as weather and visibility!

For instance u can't afford 2 drive even 50kmph on a v bumpy and undulating road,..urself and ur occupants cud get knocked out from hitting ur heads on the roof.

Even some roads will indicate speed limits n a ll dat.

Now,dat said,am sure what u had in mind b4 creating ds topic is how ppl see it while on a smooth high way...I think no sane driver with a mind for safety shd go beyond 120kmph,no matter what. Remember,..a good driver shd envisage anyth. A lone calf once popped in ma face just afta d bridgehead at asaba,..if I was not on 90kmph,..i wud hav collided with d calf and who knows what might hav happened next.

Imagine having a blow out at 140kmph,..or have a drunk cyclist cross ur path at 150kmph!

120kmph max for me (rarely, even at dat)!

It depends on the road you are driving. Can u drive 100km/h in a road that has porthole? But they are some speed limit signs on the road restricting people. But i think 100km/h is ok!

When u are in abuja u will understand. When u are driving on a four lane road and u habe good tyres...
But to answer your question. ..overspeeding is moving at a speed which u have little control over your car...the higher the speed, the less your ability to maneuver or control. The road is free to the extent your eyes can see. .. assumption is the mother of all f... k ups...
Never assume the road is free...
Besides the difference between a car driving at 140 and the other driving at 100km/h is barely 10min. So why overspeed?

180km/h.. Only during Travels tho. City drive is 80 maximum for me

Speed sometimes depends on the type of car you have
Re: When Do You Really Overspeed? by miyagi01(m): 8:05am On Apr 30, 2017
To me, level of speed iz directly proportional to d kind of car u driving, and d condition of d road. I work in d hospital setting nd believe me, a lot of people die due to overspeeding. Am a great fan of 100km/hr but some roads ar really tempting dat i go as high as 130km/hr grin

In this country you just have to curb your enthusiasm for speed, no race tracks to satiate that need neither are there any good roads. if you're rich enough travel to Germany and hire a supercar then go to the autobahn and do 300kmh if you like.

I love your point. U just summed everything up. It really depends on the situation you find yourself. Kubwa expressway at night, u would be on 140km/hr and it would be as if u are slow

2 third of ur last figure. I.e 2/3 * 180= 120. Depending on d brand. If d last figure is 220km/h, den wen on a free rd, u can go upto 140. Me na vin diesel d 2nd. Wen going to d north frm lag, I can rc 150 sef dependin on d road situation

Oga, you overspeed when you drive above the official speed limit of the road you're plying.

If the speed limit is 100km/hr, overspending starts at about 105km/hr. There's a 5% margin.

There's also underspeeding. A friend of mine, in the US, was stopped by the Police for driving at 45miles/hr in a 60miles/hr highway.

Dude keep it up. It's all about what you're comfortable with.

I can tell you I've been driving for over two decades and usually keep my speed to 80kmph intrastate and100kmph interstate.

To me, i dont think there is anything like 'overspeeding'

The truth is that.... you have to be very conscious and extremely smart.

You cant be slow when you ought to be fast... that can even cause.an accident.

you must make sure you access all the parts of the vehicle to ensure best performance (especially the braking system)
With this tip..... you can speed to the limit where u get scared.

BTW, mine was 160kmph
