To be safe, the limit for driving on an express road is 100km/h
When driving in an express road within the city where there are markets along the road as well as houses your speed should be reduced to 80km/h -50km/h
In an express road driving on a speed of 100km/h will definitely get you to your destination. It is better to get home safe than to get home in pieces because most of our roads in Nigeria has port holes . The more your speed the more your tyres loses its grip on the road and the lighter your steering wheel . So any sudden turn while try to dodge a port hole might be fatal. So it is safer to drive at a speed you can control

It all depends on the road condition, visibility, weather and the kinda car you cruising. And how good you are as a driver..

My man u good. Doing 160km\h with an avalon ship(v8) makes me feel am kinda overdoing it.

But to answer your question. ..overspeeding is moving at a speed which u have little control over your car...the higher the speed, the less your ability to maneuver or control. The road is free to the extent your eyes can see. .. assumption is the mother of all f... k ups...
Never assume the road is free...
Besides the difference between a car driving at 140 and the other driving at 100km/h is barely 10min. So why overspeed?

You 2 much,many are just typing rubbish because they can type in English,the brother asked a very simple question that is bugging him for him to benefits and others also some are busy saying how they can drive 120,140 etc we know some of u guys drive like James B but you don't expect a beginner to do the same.

Except you ar driving interstate, you can try 120km/h which is even risky with unknown pot holes on the highway. Driving within Lagos, I'm not sure you'll even have t opportunity to do more than 80kmh. Except on Sundays on 3rdMB.

When you overspeed. You are not only endangering yourself. You are endangering other road users(Pedestrians, other motorists and women selling stuff by the road)

Takes a split second to find your self in a ditch. And you might just take the life of that young graduate, fresh out of school and hoping for a bright future. So when next you press that throttle hard. Remember the consequences.

Overspending is basically drive above the legsl speed limit on a road or area. An inner town street cud be 50 so if u drive 70mph on it ure overspending. Third mainland u can hit up to 200 cos its a freeway. U grab

I am a fan of 100/120km its safer & more economical.
With that kind speed my accord 2.4 2003 can get 110km per 10littres

You speed, you die. You don't speed, you die. Only when car manufacturers reduce the speed limit that there'd be a speed limit. A car with a max speedometer value of 240 is meant to go up to 240. As long as the road is good and clear, the car is sound, the bend ain't too sharp, match that damn pedal! If you wanna drive at a max limit, go get an SLD installed in your car.

It depends on the situation and driving conditions. There are situations whereby 80km/hr is overspeeding and there are situations whereby 120km/hr is not overspeeding. When driving in the rain with poor visibility then even doing 70km/hr might become overspeeding. When driving on bad roads and bends, 80km/hr might become overspeeding. When driving on a busy highway like Lagos- Ibadan Expressway, 100km/hr can become overspeeding. But when driving on a very smooth highway with less vehicles like Ore-Benin highway, then even 140km/hr might not be overspeeding depending on the condition of vehicle.

In fact there are some situations where u will get a ticket for driving too slow on the left lane.

In this country you just have to curb your enthusiasm for speed, no race tracks to satiate that need neither are there any good roads. if you're rich enough travel to Germany and hire a supercar then go to the autobahn and do 300kmh if you like.

Well, I usually go between 160-200 on the highways.
In my opinion, Overspeeding is the point at which you no longer feel in total control of the car; or you are in total control but you pose a danger to other road users(pedestrians and drivers alike)

Remember, "SPEED THRILLS BUT KILLS"

overspeeding kills. do not be tempted to overspeed even if the road appears to be free, because you dont know if there is a big pothole ahead or a broken down vehicle across the road. even while speeding with other cars, what do you think will happen if another car abruptly swerves into your lane? in ur attempt to not hit the car by slowing down, the car behind you on speed will run into your car in seconds

The narrative for over-speeding is very simple ie when you go above the prescribed speed limit of any road you are traveling on then you have over sped.

Overspeeding occurs when the speed you are going can make you loose control of your car when a minor incidence (like an animal crossing the road ahead of you or a tyre bursting)) happens. A good driver is speculative. He drives with what could go wrong in mind.

Actually it depends on the car you are driving and your ability to control and ofcourse GOD. If you suffering from High blood pressure, then don't join me. I do 180 anytime i'm on the high way and it's almost 10yrs and i'm yet to hit a stone while driving.

ok we are talking about over speeding right?
This is when you drive faster than prescribed speed
ie if the speed limit is 30km/hr you drive 33 km/hr you are overspeeding
Real life experience below
I was coming frm North london going south so I took the tower bridge, it was early in the morning so no traffic, so i though I drive at just 30 miles per hour, 2 weeks later i got a speeding fine, I have overped Reason, that road was 20 miles per hour.Does this make any sense?
