I am just being curious. How much would it cost if someone wanted you to build a forum like nairaland for them.

I ask this because most web designers in Nigeria would rather point you to forum templates which are not simple for the user to navigate as Nairaland is.

Can cost N15000 for the script (design) alone. Domain name registration is from N4000 depending on the extension you opt for then hosting package based on what are looking for.

In total, budget N35000 for all and you're good to go. See the LASU and Badagry Forum links on my signature for my samples.

Let me be simple and truthful, based on say we be WE WE.
Don't go with the above guys. They are just hungry bloggers and link hawkers looking for a way to survive through you.

Since you said you wanna build a simple forum like Nairaland, the only thing that would sound expensive is getting a DOMAIN NAME & HOST (web hosting provider). But you could try a free host to choose a platform you wanna run before buying a hosting service...

I advice you go with VANILLA FORUM(demo link shared above already) cos it's simple, free and flexible.. You don't need to pay a dime and their interface look superb.

Most of the links you see shared above are just a remodification of people work and when you wanna make changes, you will still have to contact them. In contacting them, they will milk you dry again.

If you're ready, just visit the links. Try to host for free before wasting your hard earned cash..

If you want free host for test running your preferred PLATFORM, I suggest you use http://heliohost.org

Trying to clone NL is the first indicator that within 3 months, you're going to give up.. Running a blog is hell, forum is heller.. Don't know if that word exist lol

My advice here is.. Don't lunch it yet.. Try and read lots of materials... Experiment too. Be confident that you know what you're going into before you start...

Lastly, be original. Seun is at the top cause he was original.. Not by cloning other sites..
