Papiikush: This is not "oyinbo man" mentality: 1. the guy has diplomatic plates... many more Nigerians would suffer if China decided to "teach us a lesson" for assaulting a diplomat (we're the junior partner, and this is a reality, not oyinbo mentality). 2. Nigerians with connections also have this same boastful attitude (from Oga's wife, to police colonel, to chairman of some bank), and will have people show up to defend them. 1 Like |

BTW Nigeria is a fvrcked up country, if the reverse were to be the casd, and a Nigerian diplomat faces such scenario in Beijing, nothing would have happened. madbuhari:see who is talking about home training. the moniker days madbuhari and he's blaming buhari for the squabble between am arrogant Chinese diplomat, market people and the security agencies that stop the diplomat from being lynched. do you expect the security agents to allow the Chinese man to be lynched? you don't just lack home training. you lack formal education too |
Re: Chinese Man Refuses To Be Checked In A Market In Abuja, Attacked By Mob by nextstep(m): 4:58pm On Jun 19, 2017 |
I don't think diplomatic immunity means you can enter any part of the country. He is free to insist on not being checked... he just won't be allowed in. For instance, he cannot just enter my house without permission, nor enter private business nor government offices uninvited, so he cannot just enter a private property (in this case Abuja Market Authority Management), without permission, diplomat or not. From what I can tell: "Diplomatic immunity is a form of legal immunity that ensures diplomats are given safe passage and are considered not susceptible to lawsuit or prosecution under the host country's laws, although they can still be expelled." - wikipedia. Safe passage does not equate to unlimited or unrestricted passage. 1 Like |

this is a lesson to the abokis at the security post. diplomat is different from other nationals. you can not even try them in court if they did not submit themselves to be tried. |
