Nobody should blame God here o coz
1. God says my ways are not your ways just as far the heavens is to the earth so my ways are totally different from yours

2. the foolishnes of yours is much more wiser than the wisest..how about his wisdom?

3. only God knows those that serve him in truth

4. who are we humans to question God's way

5. if this is not convincing enough I advise go serve the devil and see how life is there

Sometimes when I read some portion of the Bible, I am just lost for words..

The LORD says. ‘Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.

Its simply Gods choice of who he hate and who he loved.

This pastor shouldn't suffer like this if Jesus words were true as reported in the Bible because Jesus said you would get anything you ask in his name; Jesus also repeated this many times over and over to show that he means it

below are such verses

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:21-22)

Jesus also reiterated it again

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20)

and again

Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25)

and again

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

and again

(Matthew 17:20 For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.) then whatever you ask for in prayer will be granted, there are obviously only a few options available.

looking at the above verses and trying to square it with this pastor's predicament, one comes to 5 possible conclusions

1) the Bible is wrong, Jesus never said these things

2) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus was wrong

3) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus lied

4) this pastor prayed for alleviation of his suffering but had no faith

5) the Bible is just a collection of myths & fables & Yahweh, Satan, Jesus, Holy Spirit doesn't exist

take your pick
In the book of Luke 9:23, Jesus said that whoever wants to be his disciple, must deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow Him.Now the cross does not represent a fancy place. It is symbolic of pain & suffering.Christianity is not an escape route from troubles of life.We as Christians are required to take our cross daily & still follow Jesus. The greatest of all apostles,Paul, said that he had a thorn in His flesh.Three times he asked God to take it away & the answer was the same " My grace is sufficient".Jesus said that just like Him, His followers would be despised. He himself was tempted by the devil.Job a faithful servant went through trials to the point where his wife advised him to curse God , but God restored him.My point is that there are times God may choose to restore e.g. Health, family etc, but there are times He'll be like, "My grace is sufficient".That doesn't make one any less a Christian. He remains God in all circumstances whether He heals or doesn't.Whether He answers prayer with a big yes or a capital "No",He is still God and we can't question His sovereignty!

If someone with such a humiliating ailment can preach the word of God, give hope to the hopeless, encourage those who despair, what prevents an able-bodied person to spread the gospel. I know many of us would have committed suicide if we had experienced such condition.

Neurofibromatosis.

It is genetic and he got it from his parents.

I guess his parents should know that already because it probably runs in their family.

But who knows whats true these days... So much fake news since the internet blew up and everybody is a self made reporter/liar.
it's genetic but not hereditary... It's a genetic disorder caused by unnecessary mutation and incorrect patterns in the helical structure of the dna

It doesn't necessarily mean it runs in their family

Going by what I read on Wikipedia, 50% of those with neurofibromitosis are genetically gotten (hereditary). Who knows it might run in the line of the other 50 but cuz can't be traced back to their ancestors.

the genes causing this are on chromosome 17 and 22 or21 can't really remember now! But the genes where this disorder happens can be inherited from parents to offspring but not the disorder itself (mind you it's a 45-50 percent chance that it's inherited sef)

Ezekiel 13:9

9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Acts 20:28-30

28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. 29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

Matthew 7:15-20

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Titus 1:6-16

6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
7 Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. 10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. 11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

It is inherited from parents period. The manifestations of the disease itself is variable. Some have it mild, some have it severe. That is what is described as penetrance.

It is a genetic disorder (caused by genetic abnormality), inherited in an autosomal dominant fashion(Transmitted from generation to generation) with variable penetrance expression (some have a mild expression of disease, some have it severe. But anybody who inherits the gene will have the disease)

Correction. Penetrance is complete, so you always inherit it from your affected parent but there are many manifestations of the disease.

I really feel pity for him. The kind of ostracization, hatred and rejection he must have experienced, and probably still experiences is beyond my imagination! I really wish I can help him. Only if the God he worships will prove his existence by freeing him of this awful disease.
may be people dont come to him for miracles....may be they come for strength because if he can hold on to life..anybody can
