Hello everybody. I went for students visa interview with my hubby on F2. I need to travel with him as we are young couple without any kid. Please gurus in the house kindly analyse my transcript.

Me: Good morning
Vo: Good morning
Vo: he is ur husband?
Me: yes mam
Vo:What's ur highest qualification
Me: B. Eng mechanical engineering

I am very sorry for the long post but just had to table it down the way it is.

It's a bit complicated. What will your husband be doing for 2 years? He will leave a paid job in Nigeria and sit for two years. It is likely gonna be difficult for him to get B1/2 even if you had FI. Why didn't he apply too even to same school if you don't want to miss him? Better you apply alone or wait till 2018 when both of you can apply for F1; meaning he must have done the necessary things of applying to school himself. Or He can come to visit you for your graduation. If you will not miss him a lot, apply alone again. You can always shuttle Naija if the money dey grin grin Goodluck!

Thanks to everyone that helped.
My sister got her F1 8:30am appointment this morning.
It was her first try.

From the info she gave me she was asked why her school, they asked about her siblings and asked why she wanted to do an MBA when her B.Sc was in the sciences and also they asked about who was sponsoring her.
And voila.
White Paper .

I pray you all get your miracles soon.

OK na ....... The bold , only works when you live in insolation , don't apply for anything and work for yourself with only yourself as the customer then this attitude is fine

For the rest , who applies for things, work for someone to learn new skills and earn a living then "yes mam no mam" is perfectly fine . Yes mutual respect is key as well, even respect (nobody owes you that). It is mostly earned .

Nothing is a right, and most things acquired is a privilege

You have time replying that one. Who compares a Banker with a Visa Officer? grin cheesy He must have thought, VOs were sent all the way from U.S to Nigeria to come and give Nigerians head petting during interview. Then you wonder if they teach manners anymore in Nigerian schools. Let him go to the embassy and see for himself how sweaty his ass can be.

It was quite easy to refuse you. You've been married 3 years, no kids and your husband is leaving his job to go sit at home all day while you get a masters degree? The VO is no fool. He/She knows that you're simply going to the US to have your kids, at which point you will not leave the US. Feel free to deny that this was your plan all along.

Lol! Exactly my thoughts.

For those that have scheduled a date recently, do we still have 31st of July Available? What other dates are available?

Of every Nairalander traveling for their studies in the fall, MackyNaija is the only person who has given a clear POE experience. Thanks a lot for the update, pal. #TeamFall2017

Boss, the worst part is I can't even post here again am so ashamed aswear

Reasons been that I prep my Wife for summer got her admission and even did mock interview for her just a week and she got it now in the US

Secondly have helped two of my friends going for same course and they got it

This last VISA interview tells me something is really wrong with me tho i don't really believe and supernatural powers except that i need to pray fast and trust in GOD

Sorry to hear this. Such is depressing, most especially being separated from your wife but don't be depressed. Work on your flaws. I don't debate people's belief.

I arrived USA yesterday. POE was New York.
Program start date is 23rd of August and my school is in Iowa, and I didn't even purchase a connecting flight because it was darn expensive from Naija, so I was expecting many questions. But to my surprise, I was only asked two questions:

1) What are you here for?
2) Do you have any drugs with you? I said yes, Anti malaria drugs. He asked to see them and that was it.

The guys at the customs just collected my passport and didn't even check my luggage.

In JFK, if your bags are heavy, you will need a trolley which you have to pay $5 for, I tried to use my card to pay but Couldn't. A bulgarian lady used her card to pay for me.

Then I exited the building and headed to Terminal 2 where I purchased flight ticket to Des Moines, Iowa for $242. I paid $60 for my luggage ($30 apiece)

My flight was delayed 1 hour, so I got to Iowa late around 12am. I had booked a room on Airbnb. The "landlady" was kind enough to come pick me up at the airport.

I only paid $25 for the room, but she is so nice. She even offered me Dinner and a hot Chocolate drink last night.

I will be staying here till School Orientation in August 20th

No problem bro. I was as worried as you are. i got in through New york yesterday. It was hassle free. Just make sure your documents are in your hand luggage.

kallowdean:
Ticket price is alarming, as i intend to travel first week of August but yet to book flight.

Am going to GEORGIA ATL, please is it advisable to take a cheap flight to new york and then find a train or bus to Georgia (Considering the fact that it is my first time and am on F1 Visas) IS THIS A GOOD MOVE?

Biko help me out o.

I have an interview soon.

I'm a Nigerian university graduate.

I'm seeking for admission into a US community college in Washington.

I have two siblings who are citizens of US and they are based in Washington.

My sponsor is my mother and I have her bank statements.

Now here come the real part

What are your advices for me?

I'm still perplexed on how to escape the "Why community college" question and why I chose Washington when my siblings are there.

Washington state or D.C.? What's the name of the community college?

Procedure kwa. DS-160 form is what igbos call aghota-azaa. If you find yourself confused with any section or question, then bring it here. There is no secret or elite procedure on how to fill the form.
I'm not talking about any secret, i need the site to visit to do that, and how to go about it, I'm novice in the system

@Fenix what dates are available for July as at the time you scheduled an interview

Abeg where can one find cheaper flights? My destination is Chicago Airport and the prices I'm seeing on travelstart.ng are mind-boggling shocked Like half a million and above

Also, can anyone comment on the services of Turkish Airways? From flight experience to layover experience to food

wakanow.com is often cheaper than travelstart.
