When I was in yenagoa a plate of eba and soup was 300 with 2 small pieces of meat. That was 2014. I'm sure it must have increased thanks to uncle bubu.

In ph it must be like 600 or 700 on average cos ph is very expensive.

Take note that this post covers just local restaurants or what we normally call 'Mama Put'. It does not cover standard eateries such as Chicken Republic or Sizzlers wink

With the rate at which food ingredients is increasing in Nigeria, it has become clearer that prices of food stuffs have defied the law of gravity that states 'Whatever goes up must come down'.

The one wey pain me pass na the latest size of akpu for buka these days. The thing just small like small pikin fist! angry

In my area, if you must eat to be satisfied, you must hold at least N500.
Breakdown: Akpu or Eba (two go for N100 each), cowhead or cowleg goes for N250 or N300

If na Management package when account dor show red, two akpu - N200, one small meat (like maggi cube) - N50. Total=N250.

If na rice or any other food, you must hold up to N600 before belle go set oh! If it's management package, you can roll with N300 wink

Ah dey Warfi!!!

How e be for ur side, peeps?

Eating out is not hygienic nor econoimical. Meals prepared in public restaurants are often poorly cooked(too much salt, excess oil, laced with preservatives,stale..) and the cooking environment may not be that clean thereby, exposing chstomers to food poisoning and typhoid. Besides, why should one spend 300(averagely) on a meal when he/she can prepare a satisfying, healthy,nutritious... meal that can last for days?

I live in Kogi state. A plate of beans in my area is 100 Naira. It was initially 70. Then you can buy bread of any amount to support.
A plate of rice goes from 50 and above.
Akpu is 100 and above.
Sorry I dont eat meat. Because I prefer to be satisfied before meat. Meat is luxury.

How can you people be eating with 300-500 for a plate of food, and still be complaining that it is expensive? I rarely eat outside but the few times I do, it costs nothing less than 1,130 to eat at Tastee. That's like 3 wraps of small semo with okra soup, 1 piece of fish, 1 piece of meat and a bottle of soft drink. Personally, I don't think 300-500 for a plate of food is expensive. However, I really don't like eating out cos I can't trust the hygiene of the people cooking the food. Restaurants like Tastee, the place, are the least I can do if I must eat out.

Recently, I went with a colleague to inspect a car with a client and after the inspection, they retired to a local buka and ordered food. Not wanting to feel odd or make it look like I was better than those of them eating the food, I decided to take rice. At the end of day, I struggled to eat 3 spoons... The food was bland and tasteless in my mouth. I had to leave it alone. I don't know how people manage to put stuff like that in their mouth, day in, day out.

Even with less than 500, you'll eat a Decent meal at Matosh aka Iya Oyo's buka in Abuja.
I love cooking but I also love eating out, I just love trying different tastes and the amazing company you get to meet at those bukas.

We don't have tastee's money. We dinor come to Lagos to use all our money to eat.
Sorry about your experience, not all buka's are like that. I'm a buka girl and I can show you some amazing buka's. Next time when you're buying at a buka for the first time buy less, say #50 rice and 1meat, that way if you don't like it you won't feel like you've wasted money or get disappointed but if you love it you can always ask for more.

Here on Lagos Island, a decent plate of food with meat ranges from N300 to N400 depending on the restaurant and the soup. Vegetables and Afan are normally more costly. Meanwhile, rice na as you want am
