My honest opinion, you can't get the MIUI 8.5.10 if you don't update to 8.2.10. I just did and it's now giving update for 8.5.4.0

If he extended purchase protection and u don't mind waiting a while...then give him the benefit of doubt because your money is still safe...but go check your post office to be sure too
