If you are going to spend more than 3 months in Canada, you will need health insurance.

Good morning house pls advise if one is being sponsored by his company to attend business meetings for a few days will he/she still need his bank statement or just that of the company alone?? Thanks

My advise is that you put your pay slip, any land document(If you have) and your bank statements, pension statement etc. There is section where they can deny a visa based on "financial status and personal asset". You will need to establish a home tie. Something that will bring you back to Nigeria; family, work, investments etc. Also write a detailed SOP on why the company is sending you to the meetings and not someone else, importance of the meeting and all. This can also be highlighted on the introduction letter you company will be writing.

I cant remember if you have to write in the dates. I think when you validate, the date comes out automatically. But I think you can type in the date.

Good day family,
Its great to know that good things are still happening here.
Well-done to all that have kept it alive.

Just to let you know and ask for your support.
I applied for my mother and son to visit me for my graduation but the process was long and graduation days past. Submitted Paper route on 8th of May.
They were delayed on the 11th of August.

Kindly assist with how we can get the GCMS. Saw several links on the forum but dont know how to go about it.

Thank you in anticipation and God bless you all.

Once you get a confirmation of submission letter, you should get a bio-metrics letter within 24hrs to 5days. Mine came within 5 hours but I know some people received theirs after a day or 2-3 days or a week. So don't panic if you don't receive it within 24hrs.

What was the reason they ticked on the refusal letter? I invited my mum also for graduation. Applied May 9th and graduation was June 22nd. Visa was approved on July 5th. I made it clear that she will stay for about a month after graduation cos it was 2 years + that I saw her last. Are you married? How old is your son? Including your son will make it seem as if he is coming to join you and your mum will be taking care of him which a lot of people do. My mum came eventually with my daughter which I didn't mention because she is a US citizen and doesn't require a visa. You can order for your GMCS from gmcs.com to know the exact reason apart from what they ticked.

What do you mean by THEY ARE DELAYED on the 11th August? Do you mean to say approved?

Hello @JinkelTrusts,

Visa was refused on the 11th of August, got a mail on the 13th and they got the file on the 16th of August.

How can we make a request for the GCMS file ?

Am sorry, for just responding.

gcms.com. It costs $23 but since you are in Canada its $5. Takes 30days for people requesting from outside Canada. Not sure how long it takes if you are applying from within.

Thank you for your response.I am married. My husband refused to re-apply again, since he was denied visa in January.

My son is 7 years and a Nigerian.I also have an American who was not meant to come with them. My mum has her business in Nigeria she dont plan to leave. They were coming for Graduation and visiting.

The reasons stated are as follows:
1,Travel history

2, Purpose of visit

3, Personal asset and financial status.

4, I am not satisfied you have sufficient funds, income & assets to support your purpose in canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada or to effect your departure.

5, You have not provided sufficient documents to support your /your host's income & asset.

You will have to list all the documents you submitted. I will ask questions according to what they stated.
1.Travel history- This is not really an issue if other criteria's are met. Have your mum travelled b4?
2. Purpose of visit- Am surprised at this because graduation is enough but also, when was the last time you saw your family. A friend was denied because she travelled for xmas, saw her whole family and invited them when she came back. I used my graduation and having not seen my mum for 2 years plus as the purpose of visit. I have also not travelled back since I came in 2014.

3. personal asset and financial status-did your mum include her bank statements, business documents, tax clearance, CAC documents to show proof of her business, land documents if she has any etc
4. same as above
5. This has to do with you. Did you mention on your invitation that you would bear some costs towards their upkeep?Even if you did not, your pay stub and maybe bank statement would have tackled this. I mentioned that I would provide my mum with accommodation and feeding while she is here. I didn't include any bank statement but I put my biweekly paystub to give them an idea of how much I make.

List your documents all the same

Please DON'T DO IT!
I like the stern warning in capital. Our people can be funny when it comes to this. If you come clean in your apps and you're refused 100 times, it's not the end of the road. It's much better than being caught with a mess handed a ban. Once an applicant is able to have all the areas of concern sorted and addressed, which led to those refusals visa will be granted if the applicant is qualified for one. Nice advice!

I am quite well travelled. Myself and my wife have been to the usa, uk, scotland. We applied for a canadian visa in february 2017, our application was turned down because my wife made a mistake on her application by not declaring that she had been turned down by the usa embassy some years ago.
We sought advise and was asked to reapply and state in a letter the error we made in the initial form. This reapplication was done middle May 2017. Till date we have not gotten a response. Is it a general problem of delay in issuing visas.
Am thinking of recalling the passport and cancelling the application sef. What do y'all think.
