Hey guys.. please I need answer to a question.

I'm currently studying in Canada, I applied for visitor's visa for my wife and daughter online.. they sent a mail requesting for biometrics which she did at VFS A few days back.. it however hasn't been updated on her application and I was just wondering how long could it take before the biometrics gets to cic or is updated?

I thought It would've been immediate!!

you have a point here. People should try to update the house with list of documents they submitted especially when visa is granted. This will guide others during application. Only few people share testimonies here and when dey do there's no list of document for others to learn from.

i think as it stand there is no faster route, the online route is just an alternative for u in case u might need ur passport for other things during the long processing time. Online route will save u the stress of withdrawing ur application if u ve urgent need of ur passport.

Its not immediate. My mums own took about a week to get updated.

I invited my mum in May for my graduation.
Applied Online -May 9th
Bio-metrics on May 19th
Sent 2 emails and CSE well within processing time and they responded the 2nd time( July 4th)that it was approved
Passport request-July 5th
Submitted passport in London because she travelled a day after she got her passport request but received permission from Accra to do so after I sent an email with exit and entry stamp to the UK.
Visa was approved after graduation date(May 27th) but she came in on August 2nd.

Docs submitted
MUMS
TRV form and family form
Passport pages with expired and valid visas to UK, France, US, Germany, India, Dubai, Italy etc.---she don waka
Bank statement- Not even up to 1 million naira. She is retired and no pension till date.
Dom account of $8,000 usd.

Docs from me
Invitation letter stating that she was coming for my graduation and will spend time with me afterwards
My bi-weekly paystub.
Birth certificate as proof or relationship.
Letter from school confirming graduation ceremony.

I did everything online for her. I prayed a lot because I felt I submitted few documents.

Ok I guess yours is a bit different cos of your graduation timeline, which makes sense. My mum has been in Canada before tho but I guess lagos embassy is really busy this period. The last time she got her visa I wasn't really as worried and agitated as this cos there was really no rush for us and it took about two months. This year she had to get a new passport, but this one get as e bi sha lol cos its three months now! I guess even if I contact them again I don't have an urgent need that can put them on their toes. In my mind, my kids are resuming Sept and she's coming to reduce my stress lol. I have sent them two emails now, I guess we will just keep waiting noni.

and please what is CSE?

CSE is case specific enquiry form used to request for an update if your application has past processing time or if you want to update information you put on your application like change of address or phone number and others. If you have additional documents to send, you can use it too but I prefer email cos its a bit direct.

My parents and sister submitted their paper application on May 5th.
Sent an email to the accra address, no response.
Submitted a CSE to Lagos immigration on Aug 17, goes a response on Aug 18 that it's still being processed.
I just tracked now and their passports are ready for collection (since Aug 22). They are yet to receive any notification by text message or email, but I told them to go to vfsglobal on Monday.

When I did mine, the officer at their office said they had a disconnection problem and advised me to send an email to Accra with "Proof of Biometrics" since was almost at my deadline. I advice you so the same just to be safe.

Pls I need a quick response to this: I submitted my TRV Canada paper application on 23rd June,2017 @ VFS Lagos office. I checked the processing time that same day and it was 66days, after several weeks, I checked again and saw 96days again. I really want to know the actual days to complete applications.

Processing time is now 99 days...smh. There is no actual number of days, the times shown are estimates/averages. Some ppl hv been lucky n got their response in 2 months or even less, some others spend 5 months or more waiting.. I think that they must hv a huge number of applications abouy this time cos they were much faster earlier in the year.

Very Urgent please..Please can anyone give me detailed description to get to VFSglobal Lagos from Ikeja. I have the address (Manor Hall, Lekki Phase 1) from their website. I simply wanna know about bustops to alight and cabs to take to where. Thanks

When you get to Canada, you can apply as a visitor to work in Canada temporarily. You will be issued a work permit and a SIN number starting with 9 because you are not a resident or citizen. I dont know about using your visitor's visa for schooling though.

Depending on where you are in Ikeja, take a bus going to Obalende or CMS. Drop at the last busstop. Take another bus going to Lekki Jakande. Drop at Ikate roundabout busstop, cross over to the other side of the road and walk into the estate gate. Immediately you enter the estate just walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes and you have arrived at your destination (Manor Hall)which would be on your left. You cannot miss it because immediately you enter the estate gate, you will see those photocopy guys, passport photo guys etc asking you if you need their services. be careful with them though. ensure you go straight to the building (manor hall) and talk to the security about your reasons for coming. They will issue you a number and let you into the compound and direct you to the Canada office. All the best.

what happen to Nigeria embassy the sluggishness is some how not too Good.....ppl time are exceeded the date of their traveling... why are sending msg to theirs costumers abt their delays... this Nigeria things are too difference..

There is no circumstance that allows you to work temporarily or permanently under a visitors visa. Its a violation of the visas rule. You can only take a short course that is less than 6 months with a visitors visa.

You cant work with your visitors visa.
I am not an immigration officer.However I did some research and found out the following information. You should apply for a study permit before coming to Canada. If you are visiting Canada and you want to apply for a student visa, you must apply for a study permit online or at a Canadian visa office abroad( your home country).

Hi, I called the IRCC recently to verify this. You can apply to work while on visitors visa(TRV). But the employer would have to pay some money to CIC and undergo some screening at ESDC to ascertain that the job the visitor intends to do requires a scarce skill.
