Why don't you take Greyhounds bus or mega bus to Dallas, dats if Harvey doesn't affect their schedule?
Enkaylala2:
Hi all, please I need help or suggestion, I'm currently stuck in Houston and was suppose to leave for newyork was today but as you all know the airport is shut down and they say I can't get any flights going till friday, my isdue is I have a Qatar flight from newyork to Lagos tomorrow evening, this particular flight has already been rescheduled once and in all honesty I can't afford the amount to reschedule it again, called Qatar and they are not sympathetic to my plight cause it wasn't their airline I used in booking the local leg from newyork to had Houston. American airline is only giving me the option of going to Dallas to take the local leg tomorrow to be able yo catch my flight, but now I can't find anyone willing to take me there, the only one willing wants to cut my head and hand. Please I seriously need help

Depending on your EDD, if u intend to arrive Houston with d next 6 weeks, I think the vo maybe reluctant to grant ur visa.

IMO, have plan B, reach out to doctor/hosp in Dallas or other locations and have it at hand, fill another DS160 and update ur profile with.

Hi people, my Visa interview is coming up soon and I filled in the form that I'm going to Texas cause my correspondence is in Texas.. Now that there's hurricane Harvey happening, was thinking they might not want to grant people going Texas visa..what do you guys think?

El Paso moms, please, how much did your baby's documents/getting the blue passport cost in all?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by debby516(f): 4:25pm On Aug 30, 2017
U really don't ve options in this case. Either choose to get to Dallas thru d means u have or wait out the hurricane and change ur date.

Maybe when u settle, u could share ur quotes and experience with d house, not much to read from you.

The bills are still being sorted at the moment so I can't give a comprehensive amount so far but we paid the CS money and epidural, about $6,525 and Dr Tate's $1,500. He recommended a test that cost about $100 at another location. Dr Tate said she'd need to be induced, and induced she was. Delivery day, she pushed wthout epidural so we're going to get a refund. Emory's in-house paed, Child Healthcare of Atlanta, CHOA charged five hundred plus for 'professional' fees but was renegotiated to three hundred plus dollars. We also engaged a paed after delivery, Kidcare,..cost $140 on first visit, and $90 for second visit. That's as much info as I have now. When I meet with DW, I'll share more.

Soo I ve another impending missionary journey in 2018 cheesy.

I am trying to be experimental and try out some other cities - LA/Dr. M in mind. Still working on it, just want to be sure of all costs inclusive.

Had Atl in mind, but i realised dat it maybe more expensive than my last year journey.

Also checked out Chicago, but fear won't allow me, plus flying in thru another POE and doing local flights back and forth won't also help my ijebu plans.

Today, someone mentioned Longview, and I immediately went on research, called them and already have their email sef, still nt cost effective for me jare.

On the long run, if LA doesn't come cheaper than my Houston waka, I am sticking to Dr. Z/Oakland jejely, a familiar terrain by d way.

So I ve and will be 'pming' some of you. Pls indulge me abeg, not like I am not doing my own research but some one on one experience could be helpful.

Gracias cheesy grin

In response to your question I rather advise you search for another hospital and doctor, get correspondence from the doctor, leave your form that way but make sure you let the VO know that your first choice was Houston but because of the flooding you and hubby decided to reach out for another doctor so just in case things don't get back to normal you will use the new doctor or hospital but if things get to normal bf your due date you will still go to Houston. Again, the budget of your houston hospital and new hospital should almost be the same rate if not same. These people understand and all they want to see is sincerity of purpose. All the best!

If its urgent, just type Dallas hosp in the search box under travel section and i am sure you will see old posts pop up. waiting for someone to respond to you may take forever. When you see the hosp names, enter the names on google to get to their website and i am sure you will find numbers to call. Even before them, you will see quotes of mama who used Dallas hosp, to guide you.

Off my head, i think i have seen Baylor scott and JPS hosps.

I emailed you some info. Hope it helps. In the future, you'd be better off searching the thread with keywords. That way, you'll get replies and necessary information quicker.

Update: the $2k refund came in yesterday. Epidural refund, they said, can not be made until after about 30 days after the delivery. Got the 0 balance for mama and baby last week. Hoping they won't remember any new bill and send long after we've left like in reniduke s case

Hello House,

Please pardon my inquisitiveness, I always search for the questions I want to ask thoroughly before posting it. Please my DW and I need a bit of help and clarifications on somethings concerning our intending trip to have our bundle of joy in the USA for the first time. We are first timers and I must say the whole process is a bit overwhelming but i'll try not to bore you lovely people with much details. Below are some of our concerns:

1. DW and I do not have anyone in the USA and this is her first time traveling, would the VO think its better I go with her? could they reject her on grounds that shes pregnant and would be needing assistance and shes going alone? I have also decided to book a hotel accommodation for her for the period of 92 days of her stay, is this advisable? I chose not to apply with her in order to be her strong home ties to return to her husband, is this a valid premise?

2. I intend to deposit a lump sum amount to cover all that my DW would be needing in the USA as summarized in our budget sheet. Would she be asked to prove the origin of the money? The money would actually be coming from 3 different sources: Myself, My Company and My Dad. Is this a good approach or should we just present one person as the sponsor?

3. Finally, my DW is currently employed as an intern and her contract will be expiring before her interview, I hope to give her employment in my company and an immediate maternity leave with resumption immediately after birth. Is this acceptable as a valid body of proof for her return based on B2 Medical visa?

Please family, anyone who has answers to these our questions please help us, you'd be ''Saving a life'' smiley

with love
Our little daughter kiss

You really have a lot to learn ooo. How far along is your DW? I hope you have the time to sit and read thru this thread. All the answers to your questions are here, start reading from the middle of part 3 or maybe part 4 and by the time you've finished you'll be a guru smiley
Lemme answer your questions

1)A lot of mama's here have been in the same category as your wife and they were issued their visas. First timers that didnt have any family/friends in the US, applied alone, traveled alone and successfully gave birth and returned. Booking a hotel for 90 days is kinda expensive, you'll be better of using extended stay apartments or airbnb..

2) Depositing a lump sum in her account is a NO NO. Don't DO IT cos defending the source of the funds is going to be a problem. How would the VO be sure it isn't borrowed. Also, using multiple sponsors is frowned at. Your best bet here is to leave the money in your account and print your statement for her to take along. She should declare you as her sponsor, your Dad can transfer his part into your account in bits over time

3) I'm not so sure about this; It feels kinda rushed and It might raise suspicion cos I don't know many companies that would employ someone and give them immediate maternity leave. Why not give her an offer letter with a date of commencement/resumption 3months after EDD instead of immediate contract plus maternity leave

Hello house,

Please I have a quick question about Visa On Arrival. A friend applied for it and got a response but she said it says Business Visa. Just want to ask others if this is the norm? Thanks in advance.

Yes it is.
VOA was originally intended for people who want to come and do business/invest in Nigeria

I think you should contact another doctor somewhere else; elpaso,Dallas or Atl, get correspondence form him/her and tell the VO that your plans have changed becos of the hurricane. They would appreciate the fact that you have planned ahead.

THIS IS A PSA TO ALL INTENDING MAMAS
If you planned to go to Houston in the next one month, I advise for you to just change your plans right now. It might take a while before they recover from the effects of this flooding.
For those that are already in Houston, my prayers are with you.. Stay safe

I haven't used visa on arrival before, but the procedure here is you send a mail to nigera immigration with attachment of baby's passport and yours(I don't know the format of the mail) then you'll get confirmation from them you'll print and take with you on departure, then you pay the $190 as you arrive Nigeria.
