I support this move. All trabsfers should be closed before season starts. You have from June to August 1st week to do transfers not the one clubs will be rushing on August 31st like they just heard it

Also for parity in the level of opposition played. E.g Like Say Chelsea played Brighton in the first weeks and beat them, before transfer window deadline day, Sheikh Diggz from House of Dangote, first of his name buys Brighton and they strengthen significantly, That means other teams in the league are not playing the same Brighton that Chelsea beat.

You can argue that injuries can decimate a team and make them unrecognizable but at least we would be dealing with injuries not just a factor that can be controlled

A recent example of such was when Man Utd beat Arsenal 8-2 on August 28 like 3 days to the end of window, in the following 3 days Arsenal brought in like 5 players which made them stronger and those who played Arsenal post window close faced a much stronger side

My very good friend dayo grin God will bless you grin

I think the clubs are just refusing to sell. The players are obviously unsettled.

This will only drive up the already over-inflated prices in the market where you have to pay above 50 million to get a decent/above average player.

Dhellake:

That's another angle, valid. But for me, there's no point keeping an unhappy player at the club when he clearly wants out.

The four players listed are presently unsettled and it's left to be seen how well they'll perform this season.

Imagine an unsettled Hazard in this chelsea team, no way it won't affect us over the course of the season.

What does 'Unsettled' actually mean? Most footballers are professional, with the exception of the few psycho nutjobs like Costa and William Gallas.

It's in no player's interest to refuse to train or refuse to play to the best of his ability as each training session is an opportunity to stay fit, and each match played is an opportunity to advertise your wares.

Dem no born the likes of Coutinho and VVD well to pull some funny stunts now the window is closed. Infact, both have reportedly returned to full training with their respective teams

We can't underestimate the effect that exile to the reserves or solitary training in combination with financial penalty can have on a player's attitude. Costa is currently without a club, and to further rub ata rodo into the wound, his replacement has been firing for club and country.

By January, Atletico might not want him sef, and Chelsea are not obligated to sell.

Unless you're Ronaldo or Messi, these days EPL clubs can and will deal with you if you step out of line - ask Yaya Toure.

Completely Agree.

Too bad, it does not matter who buys which club in Bundesliga - Bayern will still steal all the good players

Have you forgotten that they are signed under a contract for a duration of some years, nobody put a knife on their throats when they were signing.

They should see out their contracts if the clubs ain't willing to accept offers for them.

A fool and his money are soon parted. Being a fan does not mean you have to bet carelessly, if you need to bet at all.

The guy believes his team can make it to the semis, they've done it b4 albeit with a weak squad compared to the current one.

The $200 probably means nothing to him.

Like christensen?
Forget that thing. We have not had a supreme talent like Mbappe in decades.
If we had, he would break into the first team with ease.
The only difference would be instead of monaco, he would be having his breakout season in a champions league team in Germany or Holland.

If you have been paying much attention you would notice DeBruyne and Mikitaryan the 2 top assist makers were taken immediately and not by Bayern

Dembele and Keita 2 promising youngsters were taken away again not by Bayern

Bayern actually completes its transfers early. Only Tolliso and James were signed this window both from outside Germany

I'm sure you're referring to the ideal state where we think or expect that players should behave a certain kind of way.
Because if the stories we heard about the conduct of these players have any kind of truth, I'm pretty sure it's safe to conclude that people like Coutinho, Mbappe (though not in England) have acted unprofessionally (e.g. back injury, refusing to train and the like)

so in that sense, I could say that being unsettled means they have their heart set on a move away from their present club as a result of a big bid from a big club.
Nihilist:

Largely true.
But unfortunately, during the transfer window, this type of behavior (e.g. not training or playing) has become the norm because players used to have the power to sort of dictate where they would play the coming season to an extent. It was only this summer we saw clubs actually refuse to sell players under contract in spite of large sums offered, so in that sense ,the clubs might be sending a message that they call the shots.
Of course you could be in breach of contract if you forgo your duties, which is why nobody will attempt that move when the window is closed. But everyone who has a chance to play for a big club will try every move possible to get his wish, regardless of the effect on the team.

You have made valid points.
But the converse of the scenario you painted could also happen, i.e. Costa's replacement could be out with a long-term injury or lose form.
In that event, what does Chelsea do?

To an extent, stand-offs with a wantaway player are a gamble, even with the club holding so many aces , in my view. I'd rather have a player who isn't focused with the club's targets for the season ahead leave than have him disrupt the whole team chemistry, given that the player may have a close-knit fraternity with some teammates who would be seemingly sympathetic, especially if the player preaches the gospel of it-could-happen-to-you to them.

Nihilist:

Completely Agree.

My point exactly in the first place.

Even if the clubs feel a shorter window might bridge the gap, the Citys Uniteds, Chelseas, etc will offer more money to get their targets. So it doesn't really change anything in the long run.
It should make those big clubs more proactive in pursuing targets during a shortened summer as well.

None of thee 3 you mentioned are stars, none is even guaranteed a regular shirt at Bayern

Sule was bought back in December and Rudy was a free transfer that is free to go anywhere like Kolasinac who walked free to Arsenal

Gnabry was paid for by Bayern in 2016 and given to Bremen for a season, This season Bayern took back Gnabry and loaned him to Hoffenheim

Kicker reports that Bayern paid the transfer fee on behalf of Bremen in order to secure an option to buy the player
ESPN FC's German football expert Raphael Honigstein also appeared on the show and suggested that it was a win-win situation for both Bundesliga clubs: "Bremen have been helped out a little by Bayern. If Bayern had inquired about Gnabry, they would have been quoted a much higher price. If Bremen asks they can say that 'we can't afford any more than €5m.'

"There is no agreement with Bayern, but if there's a need, they can sign him if they want to."

Well, I think it's explicitly stated that it's basically on Marina as she sanctions the deals. Emenalo oversees the transfer scouting. Discuss potential buys with the manager after going through scout reports and stats. Then negotiation is initiated. Marina then hold the say if she feels the deal is okay or not.

From this, I won't really blame Emanalo. cheesy

Which kind explicitly bros....? Emenalo does the leg work while his gf deals with the financial aspect. Even the article stated the power btw emenalo and his gf is almost insignificant.

I hold them both responsible....

Free Emenalo. He is to recommend players as specified by the manager. Give a SWOT analysis and present it to Marina who initiates the financial dealings..

Btw, I think we are good though. We have a very nice squad who can compete on all fronts.

My main concern is the UCL, we should go far.
