Even if it is 15% transfer charge it is still safer. If he had a Nigerian Bank account he can transfer money to his account by Money Gram and if he had a GTB account he can transfer money direct to his account with western union.

So because of ordinary '2%' transfer charge this full grown man decided to throw away €85,000, them suppose carry go village, lay you down for village square and everybody for the village go flog you till you faint....... angry

There's something suspicious about the sender himself. Who saves as much as 85k euros and then decides to send it via ocean freight in a non-containerized VW Golf 3?

If it's not drug/illegal money, then it's a huge lie!
Gbam, my thoughts exactly, why didn't he send it in bits or alternatively buy several cars, trucks and ship them via container, arrive Nigeria, sell it off and use the money, the guy is full of balonies angry

That money could be sent through Western Union or changed and kept in his own account
How are we sure it I as not the agent that did this

Can illegal immigrants use western union to send money to nigeria without proper documentations ?

What a big and costly mistake, the dude supposed to ship the money with other items using blue or brown barrel, and then travel down to the country to collect the barrel 100% intact.

Mr Chinedu you have been destined to be poor. otherwise how can you pack 85,000 inside a car and send to Nigeria of all places. When you have one million channels to send you hard earn money back to Nigeria. I don't believe this story maybe u are trying to outsmart someone.

You tried to smuggle hard currency into the country?

Why did you not use a bank?

You could have bought bitcoin even and transported it that way.
