I started loving Japanese spec of Camry after my lil brother recently bought a 2004 model (Big for nothing). Everything about the car is dope, from the interior, to the design, to the back light. Most people find it difficult to know it's a Camry cos it looks more like an Avalon. That Japanese spec beats the American spec hands down.

Boss, have you seen the Lexus ES300 2002? That car will dust any 2004 Toyota salon (including the flagship Avalon) with full options when it comes to features. Interior is super dope with options hardly found in 2010 Camry.

Is no news dat toyota is a Japanese company bt den they hv assembly grounds in many countries.they hv American spec models (which is most popular hia) and Japanese spec(which comes mostly in right hand drive cos datz wot is used in Japan). Nw, am thinking of getting a camry (spider) bt d Japanese version is getting my attention more cos is kinda different cos is not yet common like dat.
Pls my people, wotz d difference with d popular camry(spider)I think is jst d outlook alone cos interior n engine is same. Bt my fear is d switch frm right 2 left drive undecided n hw is d durability?

Why do you write this way? The only thing you've succeeded in abbreviating is your readers' IQ.

Don't bother trying to do conversion to avoid unnecessary troubles except you have a very trusted automechanic to handle the conversion for you, go for the american spec cool

I have an 08 camry that bought from Australia and converted almost three yrs ago. The car is still something to envy among its equals. The difference is like 7up

Lexus cars are better than Toyota cars in aesthetics. From the interior to the appearance. But Toyota is more rugged.

I sell Japanese spec. And have sold more than 40units over 2 years. I have never gotten any complaints from any of my customers. If the dashboard used for the conversion is a new one and it's done in the Toyota company there before importing, I can give 99% assurance it will never give any issue. Na oyinbo wey manufacture car do the conversion, which issue e go na give. Y'all need to change your orientation about converted cars done back in the days andand in Nigeria. You wanna buy a car, bring a good mechanic, check the engine, test drive and do the rest.
You can contact me on 08176371845 for more details.
Ps:I'm not trying to mislead you but just trying to say the reality and things people forget to know. Even the American spec y'all talk about, 98% of American cars are accidented and repaired here and painted and also sold costlier.
Japanese spec are neat with sound engine, no accidented issue from the beginning. And y'all Badmouth it without any findings...
My cars are imported from Singapore which is very small country in Asia, you can check the map, hence the mileage are very small around 56000-80000 which is genuine unlike the America changed mileages. The engines are very sound, genuine custom papers, full options than America spec and so on.
Picture of one of my cars attached below. Call me on 08176371845 for further details

Sans the advert and the general statements, this was what I expected, when I saw the thread title. Photos comparing the North American Camry and the European/JDM Camry Aurion/Sportivo.

Certainly not all of this bickering and derailing.

Sigh.

My take, anyway: I've come to discover that Euro/JDM versions/Trims of a number of Marque models have a lot more features than their North American versions.

The tendency to have multiple Trims 'options' of the same model with incremental price differences seems to mainly be a North American thing.
Re: American And Japanese Camry Which Is Better? by Ipfreely: 8:16am On Sep 28, 2017
Lexus, for instance. The Euro Lexus RX 2nd/3rd gen XU10/XU30. The features you'd find as options in North America - Ventilated/Heated seats, premium Audio a la Mark Levinson, Height adjustable suspension, HID headlamps, LED interior lights, navigation, etc come standard on an average Euro RX.

go for japan version because when ut comes to cars, japanese cars are the best and these are the reasons I rate them higher than germans cars and american version(american cars are below german cars).

Durability(japanese cars are the best)
reliability
high quality
better fuel efficiency and
value for money.

But if you are looking for fashionable cars, then go for german or american cars.

The downsides of Japanese cars are mostly they never feel fantastic. The seats are not that great, you don't feel fantastic inside one.
Japanese made car better than German made car?No o

When we were in primary school, any time we missed the tenses trying to answer a question, I can vividly remember our teachers not just correcting you, but still applauding your answers. All he could have done is to respectfully correct the gentleman and still make his own input on the said topic. No one is infallible, only God is. But when you are correcting others, learn to do respectfully. My main concern is he never said anything about the topic but can joyfully and harshly call out the man's errors.

Very correct. Where would you have gotten the whole time in 2005 to spend on the internet? It is either you are the top boss in the office, a banker or you go to the cafe(with dial-up network).

U r right. But apart from the rear light which is different, buying an American spec XLE version is still a better option since u won't have to do any conversion. The Japanese spec would beat the LE, or SE American Camry but the XLE will go head to head with it.

And that rear light is subjective and down to personal preference. It's just that people tend to like things that are not common. Some people in Asia actually prefer the rear light that comes with the American version. So I don't see any sense in buying the Japanese version and then going to convert it from RHD to LHD just so u can have a different rear light from the rest.

Looks like u clearly missed the point. Op was talking about Toyota Camry 2007-2012 made in Japan vs the ones made in the US. It's the same Toyota and they us the same standards with just some minor differences. A Japan made Camry might be more loaded than an American Camry LE and SE but american specd XLE is almost the same as any Japanese Camry in terms of options.

It's not about only the rear light, te front light is more fancy, the booth design is also of different design to the regular camry design, the dashboard if u take a closer look has the upgraded design, not the regular America knob, other functions like you controlling the windows from the key, it also has a thumb start version for 2007-2010, electric window controls, that am not sure if the america version has. It only comes with Full leather seats, unlike the oposory work being done on accidental America spec. I use a converted car for 3years now. And have not had any issue with it cos it was done perfectly with a new dashboard in the Toyota company over there. We should all tryna grow with ideas, and forget old mentalities concerning all these things cos we are all literate over here and not mediocres. Thanks

I think if u want something more unique in the neighbourhood, affordable, durable, and you wouldn't have any problem with it u can go for the Japanese spec. It's a car somebody will tell u this the price u bought it or something. It's unique. If u like it, go for it

Oh, I just realized I totally left out the driving side issue. I have seen a significant number of original LHD Euro versions. I have seen the Aurion in original LHD.

And no, I don't quite agree with the assertion that the only significant difference is the tail lamp. The Aurion is literally and figuratively worlds apart from the Camry. But sure, the XLE does significantly close that gap.

Bro all these things u mention are also available on the american specs XLE or v6. And for the records I think the rear light of the 2010 American spec looks better than the Japanese spec.

Just buy yourself a Lexus and experience peace of mind. No need asking for so and so options. Everything is embedded. Standard leather seats, wood trim, one touch power windows on all 4 doors, etc.
