Reine22: I dont know how true this is, but i met two ladies at the embassy, I went to meet them when i saw the light yellow copy they were holding on the queue , i asked them if they did dropbox and was called for interview they said yes. Both of them denied. One was told 4500dollars was too small to give birth in America , she came with all her receipts. The other paid 3500dollars she was also denied no reason given . They both checked their receipts. They were interviewed before me, we all met outside after the interview and exchange numbers. |

ladeonas:I'm sorry but no airline would let you carry on 2 infants with one adult. It's an aviation rule so applies to all carriers. So you'll have to attach the second infant to another adults ticket as an infant in arms. Or pay for an infant seat. Either way in arms or on a seat each infant needs an adult. |

ladeonas: Hello ma/sir, based on experience, please get another adult to assist in helping out. Taking care of one infant on international flight is work, not to talk of two. If possible, get your spouse or mother to accompany the mother and babies. 2 Likes |

ladeonas: A child under 6 months must be on your lap with a loop seat belt during takeoff, landing & turbulence. So with twins under 6 months you must have another accompanying adult, or some airlines will offer a (paid) escort service. Over 6 months your options open up a little. You can; purchase a child seat and bring an airline approved car seat for the second child (most airlines will not provide this though); or You could have two in car seats and be completely hands-free if you want to spring for the cost, or if you know both children sleep better this way. 1 Like |

Pls am new on this platform i have 2 major questions bothering my mind. Am trying to apply for visa to the US inorder to have our baby i already contacted an hospital in Houston and a confirmation letter has already been sent to me without asking for any comitment fee so am wondering if this confirmation letter only can increase my chances of getting our visa. And am planning to apply and travel with my 3yr old son is it advisable we state we are staying with a friend in US or its better we book an apartment for our stay. Pls note i have not been to d US before but Uk severally. Pls ur candid opinion will be appreciated. 1 Like |

Hello House. I just stopped by to check after a long while. I must say again, this platform was very helpful to me prior to my journey to Houston and during my stay there early this year. I had my babies in Houston late April Though I had them earlier than planned (was directed to the theater during a weekly routine doctor’s follow-up), I had a safe delivery, they were healthy babies, and every subsequent documentation turned out to be a smooth process. I came back home almost a month later, it was one of the happiest days of my life lol, I never appreciated being home that much haha! I missed home. In all, I had a very pleasant experience with my doctor and the hospital back in Houston. Transportation was a tad bit of a challenge as for some reason I couldn’t use my Nigerian dollar card for uber which seemed to be the most popular way to get around town. Unlike other places I had been to, the transport system in Houston wasn’t too friendly (and expensive). Accommodation/my host however turned out to be one of the most horrible experiences I ever had, details of which I do not wish to replay or for anyone. Our experience with her can be used to write a book lol (my aunt joined about 3 weeks to our departure). I must admit she was kind in the beginning till I paid my last rent and transportation which she unapologetically failed to live upto. What disappointed me the most was, my attention being drawn to her using my pictures and those of my babies publicly for her birthing/accommodation adverts without my knowledge. It took my family and I threatening her before she pulled them down. She happens to be a Nigerian lady (nurse/health worker with one of the popular hospitals here, don't know what to believe anymore) who I met through a helpful nairalander during my search for accommodation here. Now I won't be surprised if it turns out that she sent me the message/recommendation herself as it turned out she was an ardent follower of this thread. In all, I have learnt a lot from this platform and my trip and will still like to say thank you to; Chibertha,Babatwi,Flowers for kind words and especially DerinDee who patiently answered all my questions, you were very helpful. Likewise others who I can’t name or recall who gladly shared very helpful information here. I coincidentally ran into a few nairalanders during my stay there but never linked names to faces. My babies are 6 months old now and are the most beautiful, bubbly big boys I will be glad to answer any questions through PMs while I am less busy as my hands are almost always full (asides work, you know why). I have also got to mention that ladee1 on the thread sent me a PM requesting that I help get some drugs from home to Texas promising to refund my money, I did, they picked it up and promised to bring my money ...till date, even after a reminder. The amount isn’t significant but I expected that a kind gesture from a total stranger will impose a burden to live upto a commitment. Such people deter others from helping those in need. Wishing everyone a very pleasant evening. 29 Likes |

Bisoye76: Did the confirmation letter sent to you state that they are willing to accept you? Did it state their prices for services? Does it have Dr's contact & phone number? If yes to the above questions then you are good to go. Which ever option (either you book an accommodation or you stay with a friend) you chose is ok 1 Like |
